Supplemental Insurance Benefits

AFLAC (American Family Life Assurance Company) offers supplemental life insurance to our employees. After an employee completes their probationary period, the employee can elect to enroll in AFLAC supplemental life insurance at the next benefit open enrollment period.  Participation includes a payroll deduction for coverage amounts. Employees can choose from five types of plans:

• Individual Short-Term Disability - Provides you with a source of income if you become disabled due to a sickness or off-the-job injury.
• Accident Expense Plan - Includes payments for emergency treatment, initial hospitalization, and specific-sum injuries.
• Cancer Protector Plan - Includes payments for first-occurrence, radiation and chemotherapy, and hospitalization.
• Recovery Plus - Includes coverage while recuperating from a serious health condition such as heart attack, stroke, or coronary artery bypass surgery.
• Hospital Intensive Care Insurance - Includes coverage if you enter a hospital intensive care unit and provides payment for daily hospital intensive care unit stays, sub-acute intensive care unit stays, and ambulance benefit.
