Records and Licenses Office - Dog Licenses
Before Getting a License
Benton County dog owners must acquire a dog license for each dog 6 months of age or older.
If the dog owner moved to Benton County with a dog licensed in another Oregon county, the license will be considered valid through it's expiration date in the other Oregon county or up to one year, whichever comes first. Otherwise, a dog license must be purchased for each adult dog within 30 days of establishing residency in Benton County.
The following items are required prior to issuing a license:
- Copy of a current rabies certificate valid into the final year of the license renewal period.
- Documentation of altered dog, a written statement from a veterinarian that the dog has been spayed or neutered. NOTE: Sometimes this will appear on the rabies certificate.
- The owner can call or come by this office for a dog license application or you can print out and complete the application from this web page below. Upon completion mail or bring in the completed application, along with the required information and payment. When completing the application please PRINT for legibility.
- Make check or money orders payable to "Benton County". Please, do not mail cash. If you come into our office we accept cash or check payment. Sorry, no credit or debit cards.
