Benton County Water Project – Technical Team

Water Project Technical Team

The Benton County Water Project selected a Technical Team composed of individuals with research and on-the-ground experience dealing with water supply and water resources planning. These experienced technical people will be asked to review the work of our selected contractor and be responsible for peer review of the data collection, methodology, and recommendations for future work (see our current list of Technical Team members).

Progress During the Formation of the Technical Team:

  • Team members were reviewed and selected by the Board of Commissioners to advise the county during Phase I of the Water Project – the “Benton County Water Analysis and Demand Forecast."
  • Funding was secured from a state Oregon Water Supply and Conservation Initiative (OWSCI) grant provided funding to hire a contractor – GSI Solutions, Inc. – to aid Benton County technical staff in assessing the current countywide water supply demand.

Specific Tasks of the Technical Team

  • The ongoing identification of information
  • Watching for gaps in the Phase 1 report to determine needs for future project technical work
  • Internal discussion of technical needs (email, team list serve)
  • Write/review contractor technical data and final project report
  • Drafting and reviewing proposals
  • Leveraging additional resources to gain project funding over time

See the Water Project meetings page to see the minutes of previous Technical Team meetings and the agendas of upcoming ones.
