Benton County was named in honor of Senator Thomas Hart Benton (1782-1858) of Missouri, a strong advocate of free land laws.

Solid Waste Program

The Solid Waste Management Program of the Environmental Health Division has franchise agreements with the Coffin Butte Landfill, Allied Waste of Corvallis, Allied Waste of Albany-Lebanon for solid waste management services.

Recycling

Our Solid Waste Program also works closely with Allied Waste to encourage recycling services for Benton County. For more information, see:
