Health Management Services

The Health Management Services division contains department support services as well as direct service to our customers. This Division is responsible for billing, contracts and a variety of other services.

The duties of Health Management Services (HMS) are as follows:

• Facilitate program development, management, and department achievement of program objectives

• Manage and monitor revenue and expenditures

• Responsible for the Health Department budget

• Manages the Health Department budget throughout the fiscal year (FTE compliance, budget law, working with the budget officer on supplemental budgets, administrative transfers, etc.)

• Centralized responsibilities for Health Department grants, implementation and monitoring of grants

• Administer continuous quality improvement program and compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

• Investigate violent and unattended deaths by use of an appointed medical examiner

• Provide efficient, cost effective and revenue enhancing billing for direct services provided

• Provide support services for direct service staff allowing them to focus on client care

• Provide billing, data management, medical transcription, client and other record management, medical clinic coordination, purchasing, and accounting functions

• Register and maintain birth and death certificates
