How the Health Center Originated

On May 3, 2004, the Benton County Health Department received federal funding to begin a Community Health Center.

In 2004 Benton County opened the Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties (CHCBLC), joining a national network of health centers providing high-quality, accessible care to people in need within the community. Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) design services to address financial, geographic, language, and cultural barriers. As a primary care facility with a focus on reaching vulnerable populations, this is a unique and important component of the local health care system.

This health center is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, and a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n).
