About Us

The Records & Licenses Office is located in the basement of the Benton County Courthouse in room 4, 120 NW 4th Street in Corvallis, OR 97330.

Within the organization of Benton County, the County Clerk, James Morales, reports directly to the County's Chief Operating Officer, Dennis Aloia.

The County Clerk manages multiple program areas, this office is commonly referred to as the Records & Elections Division.

In the Records and Licenses Office, you'll find public real property records such as deeds, mortgages, liens, easements and subdivision plats among other public records kept safe for permanent retention. Marriage licenses are issued and civil marriage ceremonies are scheduled each Tuesday afternoon in this office. The county registry for Oregon Domestic Partnerships is also administered by the County Clerk.

Additional services provided by the County Clerk's Records and Elections Division include, voter registration, passport applications, election management and dog licenses. The records services in this office include recording in the real property records and management of the County Records Center, a records repository available to every department in the County. The County Clerk also provides staff and support for the Board of Property Tax Appeals.

Permanent public records are microfilmed and filed with the Oregon State Archives in Salem to ensure the continued integrity of public records.

The Records & Licenses Office accepts, cash, checks, money orders, Master Card and VISA Debit and Credit Cards, as well as, Discover Credit Cards "consumer convenience fees" are applicable to card payment options.
