Concealed Handgun Permits

SHERIFF'S OFFICE - CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE

NEW REQUIREMENT:  As of March 1, 2011 applicants for both new and renewal concealed handgun licenses must provide proof of citizenship.  See Application Packet below for details.

Citizens are required by law to have a license to carry concealed handguns.  These licenses are  issued by the Sheriff's Office of the county in which the person carrying the handgun resides.  Citizens must apply for concealed handgun licenses and renewals.

Application Packet

We process concealed handgun licenses on the following days and times;

• Tuesday between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
• Thursdays between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The fee for processing an original concealed handgun license is $65.00.  The renewal license fee is $50.00.

The first step in the process is to obtain an application packet which is available from the Sheriff's Office Records or by downloading the PDF form above.

After completely filling out the packet, the person requesting the concealed handgun permit must come to the Sheriff's Office in person during the processing times to turn in the application, provide proof of citizenship, pay the fee (check or exact change only, please), and have a photo taken.
