Mission
The BCEMC Mission is to save lives, reduce property loss, protect the environment, and lessen social and economic disruption in a safer and more hazard resilient community.
This is accomplished through:
- Determining hazards, vulnerabilities and risks;
- Increasing public awareness of hazard risks;
- Focusing awareness, education, and training regarding mitigation and preparedness options;
- Involving all segments of the community in disaster education, mitigation, and preparedness;
- Seeking creative funding strategies which leverage available resources
- Enhancing emergency response and recovery capabilities; and
- Implementing aggressive mitigation strategies to reduce or eliminate risk.
