Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Benton County Board of Commissioners recently adopted the newly-revised Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan, after FEMA approval of the plan. This 2011 update was conducted by a regional partnership funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive Grant Program. The Mid/Southern Willamette Valley Region grant was awarded to support the development of natural hazard mitigation plans for the region. The region's planning process utilized a seven-step planning process, plan framework, and plan development support provided by the Oregon Natural Hazards Workgroup at the University of Oregon

Benton County's Hazard Mitigation Workgroup, working in partnership with Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience, will continue to maintain, update, and revise the Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan. The next update will occur on the standard five year cycle as required by FEMA. More information on this process is available here.
