Benton County Sheriff's Office – Graffiti Removal Program

Help Remove Graffiti in Our Community

Graffiti can be a random act of vandalism, “street art”, or deliberate communication between gang members. People create graffiti for a variety of reasons. Regardless of the reason, it is important to remove graffiti as soon as it appears. Graffiti that is allowed to remain on any surface attracts more graffiti, causing the area to appear run down.

The purpose of the Graffiti Removal Program is to assist and educate businesses and/or property owners about the removal of graffiti in a timely manner. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office encourages citizens to report the presence of graffiti and expedite its removal.

The Benton County Auxiliary Team will take photographs of graffiti and maintain the information in a database to track occurrences and aid in the investigation and apprehension of suspects.

If you are a victim of graffiti in the Benton County area, please e-mail the Benton County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary Team or call them at 541-766-6877. If you would like assistance in removal or covering graffiti the Auxiliary Team can help. You provide the materials and the Auxiliary Team will provide the labor for free.

City residents should contact local police departments to report and request assistance with graffiti removal.

Never confront or challenge a person who is tagging a surface. The person may be armed and may assault a challenger even if they are not armed. If possible, obtain an accurate description of the individuals, graffiti, vehicle, and license plate number. Video tapes of graffiti activities are also useful. All information should be passed on to your local law enforcement agency to investigate.
