Welcome to the Benton County Sheriff's Office

A Message from Sheriff Diana Simpson

Welcome to the the Benton County Sheriff's Office web site. In Oregon, the Sheriff is responsible for maintaining the peace within the county and is directly accountable to the people, as an elected official. Many people are under the impression that our duties are primarily in the patrol of areas outside municipal city limits. This is not entirely the case.

While we do provide this service, our operations run the gamut from law enforcement duties, to the delivery of civil papers, execution of court orders, incarceration of offenders and supervision of parole/probation clients, organizing search and rescue operations and preparing for and coordinating responses to man-made and natural disasters. The job of managing such a diverse operation is a challenge.

OUR MISSION

“To provide professional service and protection with honor and integrity.”

OUR VISION

“We are valued as an exceptional Sheriff’s Office.”

OUR VALUES

Honor
Consistently acts and behaves in ways which are in alignment with spoken values. Will do what’s right even if, at times, it requires personal sacrifice.

Integrity
The quality of possessing and steadfastly adhering to high moral principles and/or professional standards.

Ethical
Being in accordance with the accepted principles of right and wrong which govern the conduct of a profession.

Professionalism

Since I took office in 2007, our office has collectively worked together to provide to the residents of Benton County a professional, respectful, ethical response to their public safety needs. I am very proud of the work the personnel of the Sheriff's Office has accomplished and couldn't ask for a better team to work with.
