Benton County approved for Phase 2 reopening

Today, June 4, 2020, Benton County received approval from the State of Oregon to advance to Phase 2 reopening. Benton County is advancing to Phase 2 tomorrow, Friday, June 5, 2020.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Benton County submitted an application to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for Phase 2 of reopening. The Board voted (3-0) to approve submitting Benton County’s application to enter Phase 2 of reopening and directed County staff to prepare an extension to the County’s declaration of emergency to October 31, 2020.

Twenty-nine Oregon counties in total were approved to reopen to Phase 2 today. Approval to move into Phase 2 was conditional on Benton County continuing to successfully meet the seven key benchmarks outlined by Governor Kate Brown for Phase 1, as well as the four new key benchmarks to enter Phase 2.
