Environmental Issues annual forum focuses on water quality and quantity

The annual Environmental Issues Advisory Committee fall forum, “Water you want to know about your water?” will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Corvallis-Benton County Public Library, 645 NW Monroe Ave., Corvallis, 97333.
The annual forum will feature presentations about water quality and quantity from multiple speakers from local jurisdictions:
- Pat Hare, City of Adair Village
- Kevin Fear, City of Philomath
- Tom Hubbard, City of Corvallis
- Bill Emminger, Benton County
OSU Extension will be present to conduct free well water sampling for nitrates. Attendees are welcome to bring a half cup of untreated well water in any clean container to participate.
Additionally, the recipients of the annual Benton County Environmental Awards and the Benton County Employee Sustainability Award will be announced.
The annual Fall forum is hosted by the Benton County Environmental Issues Advisory Committee. The Benton County Environmental Issues Advisory Committee advises the Board of Commissioners on specific environmental impact situations. The committee receives technical input from experts in various environmental fields, receives information on legislative and regulatory changes that apply to environmental areas, and utilizes Committee members’ expertise.
