Public invited to meet & greet with County Health Department Director finalists

The Benton County Board of Commissioners invites the public to meet the finalists for the Director of Benton County Health Services position at a public reception on January 10, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Sunset Building, 4077 SW Research Way, Corvallis, OR 97333.

Each candidate will give a brief presentation, followed by an invitation for all staff and community members to speak with the candidates in an informal setting. A comment card will be provided at the event and then collected and shared with the hiring committee prior to their selection. Refreshments will be provided. This reception is free and open to the public, no RSVP is necessary.

Dawn Emerick is the Public Health Director and Public Health Authority for Clackamas County, Oregon. Emerick has served in this position since 2016 while also serving as the Principal and Owner of Impact Partners, LLC, a firm that specializes in community engagement, outreach and training. Emerick has more than 20 years experience working in the health and human services sector.

Emerick earned a Bachelor of Sciences in Health Education from Frostburg State University, a Master of Public Administration specializing in Health Administration and a Doctorate of Educational Leadership specializing in Public Health Marketing both from the University of North Florida. She is currently pursuing a Master of Population Health Management from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Michael Baker is the Health Services Director for Jefferson County, Oregon. Baker has served in this position since 2016 and was previously the Environmental Health Director and Public Health Deputy Director for Whitman County, Washington. Baker has more than 15 years of experience in the environmental and public health disciplines.

Baker earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and a Bachelor of Science in General Biological Sciences from Washington State University. He earned a Master of Science in Public Health with a Community Health concentration, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Public Health specializing in epidemiology both from Walden University.
