Public Notice:  Due to the Declared Emergency related to the COVID-19 Pandemic; our office is CLOSED to the public as of March 24, 2020. There will be options for dropping off materials in our lobby. Please call (541-766-6819) or email in advance.

We are now accepting emailed permits and land use applications and can accept payment from credit or debit cards over the phone.

Planning Commission: Due to recent state restrictions on public gatherings, along with Benton County's commitment to keeping the public safe, the public hearing for LU-19-091; First Congregational United Church of Christ; Conditional Use Permit is postponed.  A new public hearing date will be set as soon as we determine the necessary measures to reduce risks while still enabling members of the public to participate in the hearing.  Visit our Planning Commission page here for updated information.

Starting Monday, March 16, 2020, please make an appointment during these hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 8:30 A.M. to 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. |

Wednesday - 9:30 A.M. to 12 P.M. and 1 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. 

We are closed the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr., President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

A Permit Tech can be reached during Building Permit Counter hours to help you with permit submittals and general building questions at 541-766-6819 or

Please allow at least 30 minutes for permit processing. For example, if you arrive after 4:00 P.M. we may not be able to serve you. 

Online Permit Submittal: Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing permits that do not require plan review can be applied for by licensed contractors 24/7 online using ePermitting.

If you are working with a particular planner on an application, have flood plain questions (Toby Lewis), detailed water permitting questions (Kristin Anderson), code compliance (Rebecca Taylor), or historic preservation questions (Inga Williams), please call ahead and make an appointment with them at 541-766-6819.

*These are usual open counter times but they can change depending on when the weekly staff meetings are scheduled.  You are welcome to call ahead at 541-766-6819 to check if the counter is open.
