Water Quality Stakeholder Group (quarterly meetings)

Since 2007, county staff has held monthly public stakeholder meetings with local city, watershed council, Soil and Water Conservation District, and others. For information on the next meeting, please contact the project coordinator. Starting in 2012 the Water Quality Stakeholder Group will meet quarterly.

Erosion and Sediment Control Advisory Group

From January 2010 through March 2011, Benton County contacted the local building community (contractors, engineers, and operators) to help review existing and developing Benton County specific erosion and sediment control requirements (see flyer below). Support from the advisory group members in the private sector supported Benton County in developing a program that is suitable to local conditions and county resources, while controlling erosion and sediment for new construction. Review the meeting notes and other information.

Illicit Discharge and Detection Community Meeting

Benton County staff developed a draft Illicit Discharge, Detection and Enforcement code as required under State and Federal law. Prior to review and adoption by the Board of Commissioners, staff held a public meeting and gained valuable input to update the draft code (see public comments below).
