Benton County Recovers

The Benton County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has launched Benton County Recovers, a new website dedicated to coordinating donations and volunteers for the COVID-19 pandemic response in Benton County. The website is available at http://bentoncounty.recovers.org.

Local Public Health Authority

Benton County Health Department, in close coordination with the Oregon Health Authority Public Health Division and a wide range of local health and medical organizations, has been closely monitoring the emergence of the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) since December 2019. Our Health Department is in daily contact with the Oregon Health Authority and other County departments around the state. 

Our local partners include Samaritan Health Services, Samaritan Infectious Disease Clinic, Oregon State University Student Health Services, Corvallis and Albany Fire/EMS services, Emergency Services at the Benton County Sheriff's office, area municipal governments, and virtually all local medical clinics (with whom we maintain regular communication).

COVID-19, or novel coronavirus, is a type of virus that has only spread in people since December 2019. Health experts are concerned because little is known about this new virus.

In consideration of staffing challenges and health concerns due to the public health threat of coronavirus, Governor Kate Brown announced a statewide closure of Oregon K-12 schools from Monday, March 16 through April 28.
