Phase 1: Fitness Related Organizations

Physical Distancing
  • Maintain social distancing of 6 feet (recommend placing signs and markers)
  • Each facility should use its total square footage to determine the maximum number of occupants for the entire facility
  • Consider holding fitness activities or classes outdoors if it can be done safely
  • Prohibit contact sports that involve participants coming into bodily contact, close quarters (less than six (6) feet apart), or using shared equipment
Prevention Practices
  • Frequent use and positioning of hand sanitizer and washing hands
  • Recommend the use of cloth face masks by all individuals if social distancing cannot be done
  • Close water fountains, except for those designed to refill water bottles in a contact-free manner
  • Close showers, saunas, steam rooms, and whirlpool spas for use
  • Keep pools closed
  • Keep drop-in childcare closed
  • Frequent clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces
  • Required employees or guests to wipe down equipment before and after each use
  • Installation of physical barriers between cashiers and public
Monitoring for Symptoms
  • Encourage employees to self-monitor for influenza-like illnesses (ILI) AND COVID-like signs and symptoms. No contact tracing is required unless a COVID + case occurs
  • Record client contact information, date and time for client facility use.
  • Temperature checks for employees (recommended)
