Phase 2: Retail (Essential and Non-Essential)

Physical Distancing
  • Maintain 6ft Distancing (placing signs and markers recommended)
  • Limit the number of customers in the retail store and focus on maintaining at least six (6) feet of distance between people and employees in the store
  • Post clear signs (available at healthoregon.org/coronavirus) listing COVID-19 symptoms, asking employees and customers with symptoms to stay home, and listing who to contact if they need assistance
  • Frequently clean and sanitize work areas, high-traffic areas, and commonly touched surfaces in both customer/public and employee areas of store
  • Use signs to encourage physical distancing
Prevention Practices
  • Frequent use and positioning of hand sanitizer and washing hands
  • Frequent cleaning of commonly touched surfaces
  • Use of cloth face masks if social distancing cannot be done
  • Installation of physical barriers between cashiers and public
  • Flow of customers (one-way down aisles) (Recommended)
  • Limit number of customers in store
  • Retail stores may require that customers wear face coverings (clear signs must be posted) 
Monitoring for Symptoms Encourage employees to self-monitor for influenza-like illnesses (ILI) AND COVID-like signs and symptoms. No contact tracing is required unless a COVID + case occurs
