To protect the community through prevention and control of juvenile delinquency.
The Juvenile Department operates under the Balanced Approach of accountability, community safety and competency development. This is met with a continuum of care that includes supervision, support and rehabilitation services to youth and families.
We believe that children are our most important resource. We believe parents are the most important teachers, caregivers and role models for their children. We are committed to working with families to equip their children with the skills necessary to live productively, responsibly and safely in the community. This is accomplished through the individualized case plan for each youth. Case plans match available services to the needs of the youth while incorporating the three elements of the balanced approach.
