The Adair County Park Master Plan is now in the process of getting started. The Benton County Natural Areas, Parks & Events Department will begin implementation of public meetings and setting up plan goals.
Adair County Park - Master Plan Goal
All public input provided through community meetings, email, and park user surveys, will result in the development of the conceptual master plan maps for Adair County Park. With the support of private/professional landscape architects, Benton County Parks and Health Department staff will develop the maps to guide future work within the Park.
Master Plan Timeline
The following are key next steps and rough timeline for the Adair County Park Master Planning process:
July to Early September 2022 - Workplan development, intercept surveys, online survey
Late August to Late September 2022 - Community Stakeholder interviews
October 2022 - RFP development for Facilitation and Design, Release of RFP Community Stakeholder interview synthesis
Late October to Early November 2022 - Selection of Consultant, Initial public meetings (2) at Adair Clubhouse
November to December 2022 - Public meeting synthesis, Ongoing online surveys
January to March 2023 - Concept plans (3 options) completed
March to April 2023 - Community review of draft concept plans
April to May 2023 - Final selection of draft plan and publishing
May to June 2023- Final data analysis and final concept plan
June to July 2023- End of Master Planning Process and Adoption
Background
In the Summer of 2022, the Benton County Natural Areas, Parks & Events Department (NAPE) decided to move forward with the creation of the Adair County Park Master Plan process.
City of Adair residents, particularly those in the vicinity of the existing Park, have expressed that the natural, wooded character of the expansion area should be retained; consequently, the only amenities planned for the Natural Area are a natural-surface loop trail, and two kiosks with way-finding signage and educational information.
NAPE is in the process of a Master Planning for the existing Adair County Park. NAPE is also engaging the community to gather input from the community on what they would like to see in Adair County Park.

Antecedentes
En el verano de 2022, el Departamento de Áreas Naturales, Parques y Eventos (NAPE, por sus siglas en inglés) del condado de Benton decidió avanzar con la creación del proceso de plan maestro de Adair County Park.
Los residentes de la ciudad de Adair, especialmente aquellos en las proximidades del Parque existente, han expresado que se debe conservar el carácter natural y boscoso del área de expansión; en consecuencia, los únicos centros de esparcimiento planificados para el área natural son un sendero en bucle de superficie natural y dos quioscos con señalización para encontrar el camino e información educativa.
El NAPE está desarrollando una Planificación maestra para el Adair County Park existente. El NAPE también hace partícipe a la comunidad para recopilar información sobre lo que les gustaría ver en Adair County Park.
