Title VI Non-Discrimination Program
Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states that no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. Benton Area Transit receives federal grant funding from the Department of Transportation and operates its transportation programs and services without regard to race, color, sex, or national origin, in accordance with Title VI of the federal Civil Rights Act. Any person who believes he or she has been or may have been discriminated against or have been the victim of any unlawful practice under Title VI, in requesting or receiving transportation services from Benton Area Transit and/or its contractors, may file a complaint with Benton Area Transit.
