Annual BCSO Chili Cook-Off
The Annual Benton County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) Chili Cook-Off is held in September on the first Sunday after Labor Day. Teams compete for the honor of "Benton's Best Rootin' Tootin' Shoot'em Up Chili" and other prizes. They also raise funds for the selected beneficiaries. Proceeds from the event benefit a different local non-profit organization each year.
Since 2008, teams from the Benton County Sheriff's Office along with teams from other public safety and community organizations, have been competing for the honor of "Benton's Best Rootin' Tootin' Shoot'em Up Chili!" They are judged for their chili, but also compete for Best Booth and Team Fundraising awards.
The BCSO Chili Cook-Off is an event that's fun for the whole family. Activities include live bands, a K-9 demonstration, the REACH Air-Medical Services helicopter (when it's not in service), other demonstrations by public safety professionals, activities for the kids, and...of course...chili tasting!
