You must complete IS-0317. This free, online course is available from FEMA which you will need to register for a FEMA Student Identification Number(SID).

Complete Required FEMA On-Line Training

Once you have a FEMA SID, you can register for and take the course using this link https://emilms.fema.gov/IS0317/. The estimated time to complete the course is 4-6 hours.  When you have completed the course, print out your certificate to be sent in along with the registration/waiver form.

COURSE NO: 18-002

TITLE: CERT Basic Skills Course

DATES/TIMES: 
Saturdays, October 13th, 20th and 27th, from 8:00am to 3:30pm. There will be an optional question and answer time with our instructors from 3:30 – 4:00 pm.

Sunday, October 28th  final review and functional exercise will be 3 ½ hours. The exact time will be determined later with participant preferences being considered.

Unit 2 Fire Safety and Utility Controls October 27
Unit 3 Disaster Medical Operations — Part 1 October 20
Unit 4 Disaster Medical Operations — Part 2 October 20
Unit 5 Light Search and Rescue Operations October 27
Unit 6 CERT Organization October 13, part 2 October 27
Unit 7 Disaster Psychology October 20
Unit 8 Terrorism and CERT October 13
Unit 9 Course Review, Final Exam, and Disaster Simulation October 28. 3.5 hours

LOCATION:  Classes will be held at the Corvallis Fire Center, 1275 NE 3rd St, Corvallis. Once you are registered for the class, you will receive information from the volunteer CERT Program Manager with specific room numbers and directions.

LUNCH: There will be a half hour lunch time (BYO) and breaks morning and afternoon.

REQUIREMENTS:  To receive your CERT Basic Certificate you are required to attend all of the training classes. Each CERT training class builds upon the previous session.

COST:  There is no cost to you to attend this program. Course and activity materials will be provided, however, you will be notified if you will need to bring your own binder.

Steps To Register

There are 50 slots available for this training and It is anticipated that these training slots will fill up rapidly. Individuals who complete the pre-requisites and registration forms will be placed on the training roster in order of returned documentation.

Forms must be submitted by October 5th.

3)  Obtain a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID) (link above)
4)  Complete the Independent Study online course and exam IS-0317 (link above)
5)  Submit your registration forms and copy of your IS-0137 certificate by email or post office.
