CERT Training and Registration

On-Line Training: Prerequisites for All Classes

To become CERT-certified, you must complete ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 and ICS-800. These free, online courses are available from FEMA. To complete these courses, you will need to register for a FEMA Student Identification Number(SID).

Complete Required FEMA On-Line Training

Once you have a FEMA SID, you can register for and take the courses below. Simply click on the title of the training which will link you to the FEMA online program. The time required to complete the following on-line courses varies. When you have completed each course, print out your certificate and turn all your certificates into your volunteer CERT Program Manager.

COURSE NO: 18-001A or 18-001B

TITLE: CERT Basic Skills Course

DATES/TIMES: The CERT Basic Skills Course includes eight (8) evening sessions, from 6:30pm - 9:30pm,  and one (1) Saturday session from 8am - 2pm. At this time we are scheduling for two classes. You will be notified if we need to adjust our number of sessions based on the number of participants who sign-up. If we run two sessions, we will allow you to attend the other sessions' day if you have a conflict and if there is room in the class.

Locations for both classes are The Corvallis Clinic in Corvallis. Once you are registered for the class, you will receive information from the volunteer CERT Program Manager with specific room numbers and directions.

One hour is planned for a meal break during the Saturday session. Feel free to bring a sack lunch and beverage.

To receive your CERT Basic Certificate you are required to attend all of the training classes - evening and Saturday sessions. Each CERT training class builds upon the previous session.

There is no cost to you to attend this program. Course and activity materials will be provided, however, you will be notified if you will need to bring your own binder.
