5/20/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Sunday May 20, 2018 at about 9:20 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Orchard St. for a civil complaint. Dispatch advised Michael Jones, 58, had a confirmed cite and release warrant out of Linn County for FTA - Theft III and was issued a new court date.
5/20/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On May 20, 2018 at around 2:51 P.M., deputies contacted Kayla Brooks, 22, at Main Street and N 6th Street. Kayla had a confirmed warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for Trespass I, Resisting Arrest and FTA II. Kayla was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
5/20/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE - BY DECEPTION. On May 20, 2018 at around 1:22 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen by telephone regarding a possible fraud. “Reverend James Campbell” (NFI) responded to her craigslist ad she posted looking for a room to rent. The Reverend told her if she sent him $200, via western union, he would send her the keys to an apartment. She sent him the money, but James did not send keys and will no longer answer any calls from her. Deputies gave her a case number and recommended she called her bank.
5/20/18 - ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at about 2:10 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of the 100 Road and Green Peak to attempt to locate two people who were reportedly lost in the area. Deputies located them about a quarter mile from the 100 road on the 14-6-20.1 road. They said they were taken to the area for a party and her friends left them both in the woods. The two were given a ride to Dari Mart in Monroe.
5/20/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Sunday, May 20, 2018 at about 12:35 am, deputies contacted Lucas Barden, 26, on Dawson Road near Bellfountain Road after his vehicle had broken down. Barden had four confirmed warrants out of Benton County and Harrisburg: Benton County FTA Criminally driving while suspended; Benton County FTA PCS Methamphetamine and Theft III; Benton County FTA Criminally driving while suspended x2; and Harrisburg Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor. He was issued citations in lieu of custody and he was released.
5/19/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On May 19, 2018 at about 11:52 pm, a citizen reported hearing a gunshot and believed her neighbor might have taken a deer. Deputies contacted the neighbor at his residence located on Dodge Island Rd, Monroe. He stated he shot a flare to prank his friend who was working in the field. No carcass or blood was observed on the property.
5/19/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at about 10:45 PM, deputies saw a vehicle driving south on Territorial Highway near Dragon Drive and stopped it for a traffic violation. The driver identified himself by name and date of birth as PATRICK WEIR, 52. The rear passenger was identified as LORAN WEIR, 50. Both had warrants for their arrest and both were transported and lodged in jail.
5/19/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Saturday May 19, 2018 at about 1:15 P.M, deputies were dispatched to Marys Peak Rd, a quarter of a mile from the peak, for a single motorcycle crash. Upon arrival, deputies observed a female being treated by Philomath Medics about 20 ft. off the main road. The Harley Davidson was about 50 ft. off the main road. The rider was life-flighted to Good Samaritan Hospital for her injuries.
5/19/18 - DUII OF DRUGS. On Saturday, May 19, 2018 at about 11:45 a.m., deputies arrived at Bellfountain Road and Llewellyn Rd for a reported crash with injuries. Unit 1 was struck by Unit 2, driven by Sadie Phillipy, 18. Sadie was transported to GSH for injuries sustained in the crash. She was later cited in lieu of custody for DUII- Marijuana.
5/19/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY; BRIBING A WITNESS. On Saturday May 19, 2018 at about 11:40 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of 2252 SE Crystal Lake Drive for a report of a hit and run. Dispatch advised a vehicle hit a power pole off Crystal Lake Dr and did not stop. Andrew Westmoreland, 26, was arrested for Failure to Perform Duties and Bribing a Witness. Andrew was transported to the Benton County Jail for lodging.
5/19/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC /PARKING. On Saturday, May 19, 2018 at about 8:45 a.m., deputies were dispatched to West Hills Road and Western Blvd for a parking complaint after Corvallis Police Parking Enforcement broadcast that she had ticketed cars on the south side of the road but not the north because it was county owned. Deputies arrived and saw one car parked out of the roadway, causing no obstruction. No citations issued, parking violation unfounded.
5/18/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Sunday, May 20, 2018 at about 4:20 P.M., Vehicle #1 was driving east on Highway 20, near milepost 5. Vehicle #1 signaled to turn into Garlands nursery, and slowed to a stop while waiting for on-coming traffic. Vehicle #2 was unable to stop in time and collided with Vehicle #1. Vehicle #3 was driving behind Vehicle #2 and collided with the rear of vehicle #2. All drivers were seen by medics at the scene.
5/17/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Thursday, May 17, 2018 at about 10:15 P.M., deputies were driving eastbound on Highway 20, near milepost 38 and saw a vehicle fail to signal when changing lanes. The driver, Rodolfo Carrillo, 22, had a suspended Oregon Driver's License. Carrillo was cited and released, with another ride.
5/17/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On Thursday, May 17, 2018 at about 5:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Allen Street for a report of a person trespassing. Desirea Clay, 37, jumped over a fence, walked past a no trespassing sign, and disregarded the property owner's verbal request to not enter upon his property. Clay was arrested for Trespass II. Clay was escorted off the property and was issued a Citation in Lieu of Custody.
5/16/18 - THEFT 1ST DEGREE. On Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at approximately 5:50 P.M., deputies spoke on the phone with a resident regarding repeated thefts at her residence on McLoughlin Drive, Philomath. She said she has had numerous items stolen when they are left in front of her garage door. She said these items are only stolen when they are delivered by FedEx and she has tried to make it so they no longer deliver packages to her residence.
5/15/18 - BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE. On May 15, 2018 at around 10:40 am, deputies were dispatched to Soap Creek Road for a burglary. The resident reported that sometime over the past weekend, unknown person(s) came on his property and stole a bicycle, two propane tanks, and two skateboards. He has had thefts from his property in the past. He is planning on installing some video cameras on his property to help identify suspects.
5/15/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC MOVING. On Tuesday May 15, 2018 at about 10:15 A.M., deputies spoke with a citizen by telephone. She stated earlier in the morning at about 8:20 A.M., she was traveling on Priest Rd. and that a vehicle passed her vehicle unsafely while negotiating a corner.
5/14/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Monday May 14, 2018 at about 3:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W and Reiling Ln for a non-injury crash. Unit 1 was traveling north on Highway 99W near Reiling Ln. He was behind a school bus. The school bus came to a stop. Unit 1 said he looked to the east side of Highway 99W for a split second and was unable to stop his vehicle and he crashed into the rear end of the bus. None of the passengers, or drivers suffered injuries.
5/13/18 - DWS INFRACTION; DRIVING UNINSURED; ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at approximately 1:25 AM, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 and Independence for a crash. Unit 1 crashed into the west guardrail. He was driving westbound on Highway 20 and Independence when he lost control of his vehicle and drove across the opposite lane into a guardrail. He and his passenger did not sustain any injuries. Guardrail was damaged
5/12/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On Saturday, May 12, 2018 at approximately 10:30 P.M., deputies spoke with a resident on Bruce Road who told them that at approximately 6:30 P.M., she heard a loud bang outside. She said at around 8:00 P.M. she went outside and noticed the bank of mailboxes in front of her property had been damaged or destroyed. She did not know the value of the mailboxes.
5/12/18 - ABANDONED VEHICLE. On Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 5:25 AM, deputies were dispatched to Wake Robin Avenue and Pickford Street for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed, as it was stuck in a ditch partially blocking the roadway.
5/10/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Thursday, May 10, 2018 at approximately 6:45 P.M., vehicle 2 was helping direct traffic for a crash nearby. After vehicle 2 was told they could leave, they began to pull into the lane of traffic to travel east. Vehicle 1 turned around and began driving, and struck the back of vehicle 2 as it entered the roadway.
5/18/18 - ANIMAL WELFARE CHECK. On May 17, 2018 10:28 a.m. deputies performed a dog welfare check on a puppy living on Ash Street in Monroe. No laws or codes were being broken. The two dogs at the residence were not licensed, so a deadline was given to get that done.
5/18/18 - UNLAWFUL DELIVERY MARIJUANA - LESS THAN 5 GRAMS. On May 14th, 2018 at about 7:11 PM, deputies were dispatched to NE Kenny Drive for a report of possible drugs found in a mailbox. The resident found a USPS package in her mailbox with her address as the return address. The package was addressed to Johnson City, Tennessee and had been returned to sender. Knowing neither she nor her husband had sent the package, they opened it and found what appeared to be drugs. The contents of the package was 3.5 grams of Marijuana concentrate “Crumble.” Deputies contacted the Postal Service Inspector to investigate.
5/17/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, May 17, 2018 at about 9:45 A.M., deputies stopped a male riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road near Highway 20 and milepost 5 and arrested Andrew Smith, 29, for two confirmed warrants from Lebanon Municipal Court for FTA-Criminal Citation and PV-Contempt.
5/16/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On May 16, 2018 at around 4:07 pm, deputies were dispatched to N. 19th Street in Philomath for a traffic crash. A school bus was stopped at the railroad tracks on N. 19th. Unit 1 did not realize the bus was stopped and crashed into the rear of unit 2, who was stopped behind the school bus.
5/15/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On May 15, 2018 at around 3:40 pm, deputies spoke to a Monroe resident by telephone. She reported a 10 foot utility trailer was stolen from a gravel parking area in front of her house on Orchard Street in Monroe. The trailer was home built with no license plates or VIN number information.
5/15/18 - FALSE ALARM BUSINESS. On May 15, 2018 at around 6:45 am, deputies were dispatched to 845 NE Circle Blvd for a business alarm. Deputies have responded to many false alarms at this location in the past. They arrived and found the exterior doors and windows to be secure. No sign of any tampering or forced entry.
5/14/18 - DOG BITE. On May 14, 2018 3:30 p.m., deputies transported a boxer dog from NW Oak Creek Drive to the Heartland Humane Society where she was impounded. The dog bit a woman at the corner of Walnut and Oak Creek, breaking the skin. The dog is serving a ten-day quarantine.
5/11/18 - ABANDONED VEHICLE. On May 11, 2018 at around 11 am, deputies were dispatched to Hyak Park for a report of an abandoned vehicle. A vehicle was seen parked in the parking area since Tuesday 5/8. Deputies placed a Benton County Sheriff's Office Civil Dept. Abandon Vehicle tag on the front Windshield. The car was marked to be towed if not moved in 24 hours. On 5/15/18 the car was no longer parked at Hyak Park.
5/10/18 – CRIMINAL DAMAGE. On May 11, 2018 at around 9:40 am, deputies spoke to a citizen by telephone. He reported that sometime overnight, and unknown person crashed into his property on NW Highway 99W, damaging approximately 20-30 feet of chain link fence, two landscaping trees, mailbox and post. He estimated the damage caused to be approximately $2,000.
5/13/18 -WARRANT ARREST. On May 13, 2018 at around 10:18 A.M., deputies arrived at Dawson Road for a warrant attempt on Levi Garrett Barden, 30. Levi had a confirmed Benton County warrant for Failure to Appear Driving While Revoked. Levi was arrested and issued a citation in lieu of custody, due to jail overcrowding.
5/13/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Sunday May 13, 2018 at about 8:10 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Commercial St in Monroe for a welfare check. Muriel Hubbard, 51, had a confirmed warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for FTA Harassment and FTA Criminal Trespass I. Muriel was issued criminal citations with a court date.
5/13/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at about 4:00 am, deputies arrived at N 9th Street, near the intersection of West Hills Road for a reported single vehicle crash. Unit 1 was traveling west on West Hills Road and attempted to negotiate a sharp left turn onto N 9th Street. Unit 1 left the roadway on the west side of the road and overturned, coming to a stop on the hood of the vehicle. Both people declined medical attention.
5/13/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; FAIL TO CARRY/PRESENT ODL. On Sunday, May 13, 2018 at approximately 2:55 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights and later arrested the driver, Michael Roy, 29, after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Roy also had two confirmed warrants. Roy was booked at the Benton County Jail.
5/13/18 – DUII. On Sunday, May 13, 2018, at about 12:40 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for Failure to Drive Within Lane and later arrested the driver, Jennifer Mannila, for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Jennifer was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged.
5/13/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On May 13, 2018 at about 12:33 am, deputies contacted Zachary Gutierrez, 30, at Hyak Park during closed hours. Gutierrez had three confirmed warrants for his arrest: Albany Municipal Court for FTA-DWS Misdemeanor; Philomath Municipal Court for Contempt of Court/FTC Criminal Trespass I; and Oregon State Parole Board warrant for Parole Violation. Guitierrez was arrested and transported to the Linn County Jail where he was lodged.
5/12/18 – DUII; RECKLESS ENDANGERING. On May 12, 2018 at about 10:23 pm, deputies stopped Daniel Crall, 37, near Philomath Blvd and 15th St, after he was called in as a possible intoxicated driver. Deputies arrested Crall for DUII and Reckless Endangering after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. Two minor children were picked up by a family member at the scene. Crall was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged.
5/12/18 – WARRANT ARREST. On Saturday, May 12, 2018 at approximately 5:30 P.M., deputies responded to Shady Oak Drive after receiving information that CHRISTOPHER REID, 35, who had a confirmed Felony abscond warrant, was asleep inside his residence. REID came to the door and was taken into custody without incident. REID was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged on his confirmed warrant for Benton County Circuit Court, Offense: Burglary I / PPS Felony Abscond, as well as a probable cause affidavit from a previous incident.
5/11/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC /PARKING. On Saturday May 12, 2018 at about 11:00 A.M., deputies spoke with an employee at the Dari Mart in Monroe regarding a traffic complaint. He stated there was a vehicle parked in the lane of travel between 8th St. and 9th St.in Monroe. At about 11:15 A.M., deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who moved the vehicle out of the lane of travel.
5/11/18 - FOUND PROPERTY. On May 11, 2018 at approximately 10:12 PM, deputies were dispatched to Northwest Mountain Laurel Circle for found property. The resident turned in a license plate she found on the road.
5/11/18 - FOUND PROPERTY. On Friday, May 11, 2018, deputies were dispatched to the front counter for a found wallet. The wallet was located on the old portion of Reservoir Boulevard near 53rd Street. The owner was located and the wallet was returned
5/11/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 at around 6:00 PM, a citizen was traveling to the dump with his red 5X8 utility trailer full of building materials and a couple old mattresses in it. He blew a tire and left the trailer in the gravel area on south NW Arboretum Road until he got new tires and rims. Today, he went to where the trailer was, with the new tires and it was missing. He has no suspect information at this time. The trailer had a 2” ball hitch and black ribbed fenders.
5/11/18 - ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On Friday, May 11, 2018, deputies were dispatched to assist a resident. She drove her vehicle into her carport and asked for help getting it out. Deputies were able to back the vehicle out of the storage area of the carport and into the normal parking area.
5/11/18 - THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On May 11, 2018 at around 3:28 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle for expired registration at NW Walnut Blvd and NW Highland Dr. The passenger, Brian Lee Holbrook, 48, was later arrested, cited, and released for Theft III. Brian had a WINCO Foods hand basket next to him in the front seat. Brian stated he took the basket, but would have returned it, even though they were going back to Eugene.
5/11/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Friday May 11th, 2018 at about 6:00 AM, deputies stopped a male walking on the side of Highway 20 near Mary's River Estates Road. The male identified himself as JEREMY KOSYDAR, 36. He had a confirmed warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for F.T.A. -Liquor Offense. KOSYDAR was issued a citation with date and time; he was cited and released.
5/10/18 - BCSO - TOWED VEHICLE. On Thursday, May 10, 2018 at about 7:20 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Starr Creek Road near milepost 2 for a vehicle broken down in the roadway. No one was around the vehicle. The vehicle was sticking into the road on an inside corner. The vehicle was towed due to it being a traffic hazard.
5/10/18 - BCSO - TOWED VEHICLE. On Thursday, May 10, 2018 at about 7:20 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Starr Creek Road near milepost 2 for a vehicle broken down in the roadway. No one was around the vehicle. The vehicle was sticking into the road on an inside corner. The vehicle was towed due to it being a traffic hazard.
5/10/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE; UEMV - UNLAWFUL ENTRY INTO MOTOR VEHICLE. On Friday, May 10, 2018 at about 12:30 p.m., deputies spoke with a resident on NE Azalea Drive in Adair Village. He had a toolbox and some speakers stolen from the bed of his pickup. No suspects.
5/4/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On Friday, May 4, 2018 at about 4:45 P.M., a citizen saw a gold colored pickup with a white toolbox and orange license plate, stop on Forrests Place, and shoot a wild turkey. He was not able to get a description of the driver or passenger. He stated he yelled at the driver but the driver did not respond. Deputies drove through Alsea and were unable to locate the vehicle.
5/5/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE - UNDER $500. On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at about 9:00 a.m., deputies took a report of a theft on NW Quailwood Drive, with a residential building site with a shed on it. Between 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018 and 7:30 a.m. on May 5, 2018, someone drilled the padlock and entered the shed, stealing an orange Dolmar chainsaw and a green tackle box with various Craftsman handtools. Total value was $600.00. No suspects.
5/9/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. On Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at about 7:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the Sheriff's Office to transport a dog to Heartland Humane Society. The dog had been found running on NW Meadow View Drive.
5/9/18 - IDENTITY THEFT. On May 9, 2018 at around 4 pm, deputies spoke with a citizen by telephone, who said she had just learned from her bank that her Visa Credit Card Account had been hacked with over $11,000 in fraudulent charges. The charges appeared to have been made in the State of Florida at various retail stores (Target, CVS, etc). She requested a report by the Sheriff's Office and case number so she could activate a fraud alert with credit reporting companies.
5/9/18 - IDENTITY THEFT. On May 9, 2018 at around 12:25 pm, deputies met a citizen at the lobby of the Sheriff's Office to report she had just found out she is was victim of identity theft. She received a telephone call from a debt collector stating a pay pal account was opened in her name. The account was past due and was sent to the collection agency. There is no suspect information at this time.
5/8/18 - WARRANT ARREST; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 3:50 PM, deputies arrested AREANY ANN JAMIESON, 49, at SW Hopkins Avenue and SW 3rd Street in Corvallis, on a confirmed felony warrant for Benton County Parole & Probation, Probation Violation - PCS Methamphetamine. JAMIESON was found to be in possession of a glass pipe, which contained presumptive Methamphetamine residue. JAMIESON was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail on her warrant and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Misdemeanor).
5/7/18 - RECKLESS DRIVING; ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On April 8, 2018 at around 7:31 PM, deputies were dispatched to a non-injury crash on Highway 34 and Marys Peak Road. The driver of Unit 1 lost control of his vehicle and drove off the road. The driver was cited for Reckless Driving.
5/7/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. On May 7, 2018 10:20 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Old River Road in Monroe for two dogs chasing another resident’s cattle. The dog owner was warned.
5/4/18 - WARRANT ARREST; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF HEROIN; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On Friday, May 4, 2018 at 3:03 PM, deputies arrested ALEXIS CARRILLO, 20, in the alley behind 503 SW 3rd Street in Corvallis. Carrillo had multiple confirmed warrants for her arrest: (1) Benton County Circuit Court, PCS Heroin / PCS Schedule I; (2) Benton County Circuit Court, Theft III; (3) Benton County Circuit Court, Trespass II / FTA on Citation; (4) Benton County Circuit Court, Theft III. CARRILLO consented to a search of her purse and found to be in possession of a very small amount of Heroin, paraphernalia, and items with presumptive methamphetamine residue on them. CARRILLO was booked at the Benton County Jail on her warrants and charged with Unlawful Possession of Heroin (Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine (Misdemeanor).
5/9/18 - ABANDONED VEHICLE. On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, deputies were dispatched to Llewellyn Road near Highway 99W for an abandoned vehicle. The caller stated the vehicle had been abandoned at the location for about a week. It was determined another deputy had contact with the vehicle on Sunday, May 6th, 2018, and issued the driver, William Spann, citations for multiple warrants. At about 7:00PM, they placed an abandoned vehicle sticker on the vehicle.
5/9/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at about 12:44 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a Monroe resident regarding a trespass. She said a man known by the name of "DRUNK DALE" was chasing his dog on her property on Reiling Lane. Deputies were unable to locate "DRUNK DALE".
5/9/18 - DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. On Monday, May 9, 2018, at about 1:01 PM, deputies were dispatched to the Parole & Probation Lobby of the Benton County Sheriff's Office to speak to a complainant. On 5/8/18, at about 4:00 pm, he was sitting on the benches on the northeast corner of 5th and Monroe with several other people, including a man who became agitated and started yelling at the complainant, who yelled back at him. The suspect was waving around a hatchet as he did this, but never threatened to hit anyone with it. The complainant also said that he did not think the suspect was going to strike (or threatened) anyone with the hatchet.
5/9/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. May 9, 2018 9:08 a.m., deputies were transported an abandoned litter of kittens from Seavy/Conser to the Heartland Humane Society where they were impounded.
5/9/18 - FAILURE TO REPORT AS SEX OFFENDER. On May 9th, 2018, deputies arrested JULIO GRIM, 24, for Failure to report as a sex offender (Felony) after a traffic stop on Highway 99W near Arnold Avenue. RUBEN had not reported since July 15, 2016 on an original charge of Sodomy in the first degree.
5/8/18 – DUII. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at about 10:30 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle for driving south in the northbound lane of 5th Street in Corvallis. The driver, Albert Reita Nagao, 58, was subsequently arrested for DUII after failing SFST's.
5/8/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/ARGUE. On May 8th, 2018 at around 11:08 am, deputies were dispatched to the Children's Farm Home in Corvallis for a disturbance. A parent arrived at the Intake Office requesting to see his family member. He became upset and started causing a disturbance inside the office. No crime was committed, however due to his behavior during the incident, the Farm Home requested the man be trespassed from the property and not be allowed to return.
5/8/18 – HARASSMENT. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at about 10:45 A.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen at the Sheriff's Office regarding a harassment. The citizen reported that homeless people were camping at the end of Allen Street near the old golf course. He said one of them told him he was going to kill him, but he didn't think it was very serious and didn't know the guy's name. He said they also came into his house and ate all his food about a week ago. Initially he said he was glad the homeless people were there and he was helping them out. He said he now thinks they just want something for nothing. The citizen was told to call right away, the next time he hears people outside his house.
5/8/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at about 7:40 A.M., deputies responded to a crash at the intersection of Hwy 20 and Hwy 34. Unit 1 rear ended Unit 2 while Unit 2 was stopped in traffic. No injuries. The driver of Unit 1 was cited for Following to Close.
5/7/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On April 7, 2018 at around 10:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to an injury crash on Highway 99 West and Guerber Lane. The driver of unit 1 lost power to his pickup and he was hit by unit 2.
5/7/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. May 7, 2018 12:26 p.m., deputies gave a dog owner living on NW Independence highway a warning for her dogs running at large and chasing a bicyclist. The dogs were not licensed so a deadline was given to get it completed.
5/7/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING. On Monday, May 7, 2018 at approximately 6:46 P.M., deputies stopped DURHAM TAYLOR, 39, at 5th Street and Commercial Street after he was reported by an off duty Deputy as a reckless driver. After a DUII investigation, deputies arrested TAYLOR for DUII and Reckless Driving. TAYLOR was transported to the Benton County Jail for booking.
5/6/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On April 6, 2018 at approximately 9:36 PM, deputies were dispatched to shots fired at Finley Road and Finley Refuge Road, Corvallis. They arrived and spoke with a man who heard numerous gunshots and explosions while he was parked in his vehicle (OR/158HFR) and was scared to leave the refuge. Deputies later spoke to a citizen who was walking his dog in the area who said he heard his neighbor shooting guns and fireworks on their property prior their arrival.
5/6/18 - BCSO – FIREWORKS. On May 6, 2018, deputies were dispatched to Northeast Fair Acres Drive, Corvallis for an aerial fireworks complaint. Deputies arrived at the residence at approximately 8:40 PM, and talked with the resident, who shot two mortar fireworks. Deputies seized the fireworks and later delivered them to the Corvallis Fire Department, Station One, to be destroyed.
5/6/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE - UNDER $500. On May 6, 2018 at around 1:42 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a resident regarding her mailbox being damaged on Gray Creek Road. She last saw her mailbox upright at around 6:00 P.M., on May 5, 2018. On May 6, 2018 at around 1:30 P.M., she saw it damaged and partially leaning over. She valued the mail box at $40.
5/6/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On May 6, 2018 at around 12:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen at SW Butterfield Drive for a reported criminal mischief. He was traveling south on Highway 99 near Dawson road when he thought someone shot at his vehicle, damaging his front windshield. After inspecting the windshield, it appeared to be a rock chip, in the upper passenger side.
5/6/18 - UEMV - UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On May 6, 2018 at around 10:07 A.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen by telephone regarding a theft from his vehicle on May 5, 2018 on SE Crystal Lake Drive. At around 11:00 P.M., he thought he saw a light coming from outside but assumed it was a vehicle turning around. His wife later noticed her purse had been taken from her car in the driveway. Her car was unlocked. The purse had miscellaneous items inside to include credit cards.
5/6/18 - BCSO - LIVESTOCK AT LARGE. On Sunday, May 6th, 2018 at about 5:05 AM, deputies were dispatched to horses in traffic on 3rd Street near SE Corless Avenue. Deputies arrived and were able to get the horses into a fenced pasture on SE Standish Avenue. The owner off the three horses arrived and retrieved his horses. The horses most likely were spooked by the thunder and lightning storm during the early morning hours.
5/6/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING. On Sunday, May 6, 2018, at about 2:30 am, deputies responded to Reservoir Avenue near 53rd Street for a disabled vehicle. They later arrested the driver, Natalie Williams, 18, for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. After a drug influence evaluation, it was determined Williams was under the influence of a CNS Depressant. Williams was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
5/6/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Sunday, May 6, 2018 at about 1:15 A.M., deputies stopped behind a disabled vehicle on Highway 99 near Llewellyn Road. William Spann, 47, stated he was out of gas, his license was suspended and most likely had warrants for his arrest. William had multiple warrants out of Benton County and Lebanon Municipal Court. William was arrested and then given court dates for all of the warrants. William was cited and released due to jail overcrowding.
5/5/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Saturday May 5th 2018 at about 12:55 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Main Street near 21st Street in Philomath. Dispatch advised the driver of the vehicle, STEPHEN SCHMIDT-SHELTON, 35, had an outstanding Warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for Forgery I/Theft I/Computer Crime. After the Warrants were confirmed, the Benton County Jail advised they were authorizing a citation to appear because of the Jail not having any room to house SCHMIDT-SHELTON. He was issued a citation and released.
5/5/18 - RECKLESS DRIVING. On Saturday, May 5, 2018, at about 12:30 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding and later arrested the driver, Francois Colomb, 52, after observing him nearly cause a head on collision with another vehicle. Colomb was issued a criminal citation and released.
5/4/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Friday May 4th, 2018 at about 11:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle that was traveling west on Highway 34 near Mary's Peak Road. The vehicle crossed over the fog line 3 times and the center line one time. Deputies stopped the vehicle for the traffic violations and the driver identified himself as BENJAMIN ROSS, 56. Deputies knew ROSS from a previous arrest a few weeks ago and knew his license to be Revoked Misdemeanor through Oregon. ROSS stated he was driving to his residence in Alsea. Dispatch confirmed ROSS was Revoked Misdemeanor and was issued a citation and cited and released in the field to due jail overcrowding.
5/3/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On May 3, 2018, deputies were contacted by a land owner about some squatters on their property in the Monroe, Oregon area. Deputies contacted a man and woman at the trailer and informed them that they were Trespassing on private property. Both of them were told they need to move off the property and that they did not have permission to stay on the property.
5/4/18 - BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 1ST DEGREE; THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On May 4, 2018 at around 8:12 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Tum Tum Road for a reported Burglary. During the morning of May 4, 2018 between 1:00 A.M, and 7:00 A.M., an unknown person broke through the exterior window on the southeast corner of the main building. They opened a filing cabinet door near the hole and took around $40 from an unsecure cash box.
5/1/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR; FAIL TO RETURN SUSPENDED/REVOKED/CANCELLED LICENSE. On May 1, 2018 at approximately 1:00 AM, deputies stopped Ethan McCall, 25, for speeding near Philomath Boulevard and 35th Street. Ethan's driving status was Revoked Misdemeanor. Ethan was arrested for Driving While Revoked and Failure to Return a Suspended Revoked or Canceled License. He was later released with criminal citations and he called a friend for a ride
4/30/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On April 30, 2018 at approximately 6:58 PM, deputies were dispatched to a Trespass on Blodgett Road, Blodgett. A citizen reported a gunshot next to her property. Deputies contacted a man who had proper permits from Starker Forests to hunt on their property.
4/28/18 - BCSO - EVENT SECURITY: DRUG TAKE BACK - EVENT SECURITY. On Saturday, April 28th 2018, at approximately 9:00am deputies arrived at the Benton County Fairgrounds and setup the annual Benton County Drug Take Back event. Between approximately 10:00am and 2:00pm, they collected approximately 1067.5 pounds of material returned by the community. The material was sealed in bio-hazard bags, then sealed in boxes, and locked in the Benton County Sheriff's Office Posse trailer. The posse trailer was secured at the Philomath Police Department vehicle lockup. Deputies then took the Take-Back drugs to Brooks to be incinerated on 4/30/2018.
4/18/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC /HAZARD. On Wednesday April 18th, 2018 at about 12:45 PM, deputies located a boat on the Willamette River in Albany that had been abandoned and had been reported as floating on the river. Deputies located the boat that was full of car tires and a full toilet, and towed it to Bowman Park where a tow company removed it from the river. The boat did not have registered owner information.
4/17/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY. On 4/17/18 at 4:30 pm, a citizen reported damage to her vehicle while parked in the driveway on NE Holly Lane. Damage to the back passenger side quarter panel and tire area occurred on 4/17/18 between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm.
5/3/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Thursday, May 3, 2018 at about 9:30 A.M., deputies arrived at 3rd Street and Polk Avenue for a crash. Unit #1 and Unit #2 were both driving north on 3rd Street. Unit #1 attempted to turn left onto Polk Avenue from the right hand lane of 3rd Street. Unit #2 struck the driver's side rear quarter of Unit #1 as it attempted the turn. Unit #1 was cited for Fail To Drive Within Lane.
5/3/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 at about 5:10 AM, deputies arrested JOSEPH VINSON, 33, on a confirmed warrant for his arrest from the State Parole Board for a probation violation on a MCS charge. VINSON was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged.
5/2/18 - WARRANT ARREST; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 2:07 PM, deputies saw MICHAEL SIMMER, 52, on a bicycle near Sequoia Avenue and 9th Street in Corvallis. They knew he had a felony confirmed warrant for his arrest. SIMMER was in possession of Methamphetamine and a pipe. SIMMER was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged on his warrant and charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine.
5/2/18 - FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD-MISDEMEANOR. On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at about 1:30 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen regarding fraudulent use of his credit card. He said he runs a plant nursery and sells seeds online. He said someone out of Jakarta, Indonesia has been buying seeds and selling them on amazon using other people's credit card numbers.
5/2/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On May 2nd, 2018 deputies took a theft report from NW Highway 99W in Corvallis. The resident reported his vintage 2 speed tricycle was stolen overnight. The tricycle was parked unlocked outside the home.
5/2/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC MOVING. On Wednesday, May 2, 2018, deputies were dispatched to NE Granger Avenue near milepost 2 for a reported traffic crash. Deputies arrived and spoke with the driver who was picking up a spool of wire and returning it to his trailer. There was no damage to the truck; the trailer’s light cord was severed.
5/2/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018, deputies were dispatched to NW Highway 20 and NW Independence Highway for a traffic crash with an injury. Unit 1 was turning East onto Highway 20 from Independence Highway. He said he was unable to see the westbound vehicle pulled out in front of Unit 2. She said she attempted to stop and swerved to the right to avoid hitting Unit 1, but was unable to do so. Unit 3 was behind Unit 1 on Independence Highway and told deputies the same story.
5/2/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Tuesday, May 1, 2018, Greg Ropp notified deputies he had caught two males on video stealing parts from his warehouse on NE Highway 20 on April 26, 2018 at about 3:00 A.M. He said the parts were worth about two hundred dollars. Deputies reviewed the video footage and took several photos of the suspects and emailed them to Corvallis Police Department and the rest of the Benton County Sheriff's Office to attempt to identify.
5/2/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at about 3:04 am, deputies stopped James Nunn, 32, for riding his bicycle in the oncoming lane of travel on SW 7th Street just off Western Boulevard. Nunn had a Benton County Circuit Court confirmed warrant for Possession of Methamphetamine. Nunn was taken into custody without incident and taken to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
5/1/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at about 11:40 pm, deputies arrived at Highway 99W near Greenberry Road for a reported single vehicle traffic crash. Unit 1 was travelling north on Highway 99W. Unit 1 left the roadway on the west side of Highway 99W and struck several trees and a Century Link phone box. All persons involved declined medical attention.
5/1/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE; CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On May 1st, 2018 at about 4:00 PM, Deputies were dispatched to Starr Road in Monroe for a report of the theft of a wagon wheel. The resident reported a wagon wheel had been stolen from the yard near her barn sometime in the last 4 days. She said someone stopped by about 6 weeks ago asking to buy the wheel but she did not have anything more than a vague description of him. She had no further suspect information. The wheel is estimated to be worth about $150.00.
5/1/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at about 1:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Van Horn Road for a shots fired complaint. A resident said he heard what he thought was automatic gunfire coming from the woods behind his property. Deputies did not locate anyone shooting.
5/1/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. May 1, 2018 1:40 p.m., deputies responded to Oak Creek Road for an animal neglect compliant. No codes or laws were being broken. The puppy was in good physical and mental condition. The living conditions were appropriate. The complaint was unfounded.
4/30/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. Driver 1 was heading south bound on 53rd Street and was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of 53rd Street and Reservoir Avenue. Driver 2 was also headed southbound on 53rd Street and did not stop in time, before rear ending Driver 1. Driver 2 sustained a minor abrasion on his forearm where his airbag hit it when deploying. Both Drivers declined medical attention.
4/30/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. Vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on Lewisburg Road and attempted to turn right (south) onto Crescent Valley Drive. The driver stated his steering seized up. He crashed into a stop sign on the SE corner of the intersection and traveled several feet down into a yard, damaging a wire fence. He was able to drive his vehicle through the yard and onto the roadway.
4/30/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC MOVING. On Monday, April 30, 2018, at about 1:03 pm, deputies were dispatched to phone a citizen. There is logging occurring on Tampico Road, north of Trillium Lane. He said the log trucks are overloaded for Tampico Road and they are traveling at a high rate of speed. The road is curvy, has no shoulder, has several hills and is used by walkers and bicyclists daily. He requested extra patrol.
4/30/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. April 30, 2018 12:20 p.m., I gave a dog owner living Homestead Road in Philomath a warning for allowing his two dogs to run at large and cause damage on a neighbor's property. The dogs were not licensed so a deadline was given to get that completed.
4/30/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. April 30, 2018 2:00 p.m. an adult neutered male red nose pit bull was turned into the Heartland Humane Society. There had been a custody issue around the dog. The owner has been contacted and will be retrieving her dog.
4/30/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. April 30, 2018 3:02 pm, deputies spoke with a dog owner who resides on SE Alexander in Corvallis about an incident which occurred on April 27, 2018. It is unclear if his dog was at large or still on his property when a scuffle broke out between his dog and another dog. There were no injuries. The dog is currently licensed.
4/30/18 - DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. On April 30, 2018 at around 8:12 A.M., deputies were flagged down at NW 5th Street and NW Monroe Avenue for a reported disturbance. The resident was reportedly yelling and cussing at people as they walked by. Deputies warned him for disorderly conduct and he agreed to stop yelling at people.
4/29/18 - FAIL TO CARRY/PRESENT ODL. On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at about 11:05 P.M., deputies stopped Jacob Deeter, 34, for DWS - Violation at Highway 20// Independence Highway. Approximately 20 minutes later, they were waiting for the light at Granger and Highway 99 and Deeter drove in front of them. They stopped Deeter a second time, cited him for DWS - Violation, and arrested him for Failure to Carry and Present.
4/29/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On April 29, 2018 at about 10:07 pm, deputies observed an eastbound vehicle traveling 83 mph in a posted 55 mph zone on Highway 20 near MP 37. They performed a traffic stop and identified the driver from an ID Card as David Coonradt, 50. Coonradt stated he did not have a license as the last time he was stopped it was taken from him and his vehicle was towed. Deputies learned Coonradt was DWS-Misdemeanor and was issued a citation for DWS-Misdemeanor and Speeding 83/55.
4/29/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at about 7:00 P.M., deputies arrived at Kyle Road for a report of shots being fired. Deputies sat in the area for a short time and heard no shots. Deputies spoke to the complainant and informed her they would speak to her neighbor if they heard any more shots, which they did not.
4/29/18 - ASSAULT 4TH DEGREE; HARASSMENT. On Saturday, April 29, 2018, deputies spoke to a complainant by phone. She stated on Friday, April 28, 2018 at about 10 P.M., a minor client became upset and began walking towards her. She raised her hands in the air and stated she did not want to engage with her. The suspect punched the complainant three times, and kneed another staff member. The suspect was cited for Assault IV, and Harassment x2.
4/28/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC /PARKING. On April 28, 2018 at approximately 6:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to Mcloughlin Drive, Philomath for a parking complaint. A camp trailer was parked in an area posted, "no parking fire lane". The resident said he would contact the home owners association and inform them the RV will be moved. Deputies called the complainant, who said he would talk with the homeowners association the following day about the parked vehicle camp trailer.
4/28/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. On April 28, 2018 at around 9:27 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Shady Oak Drive for a reported aggressive dogs at large. Dispatch said the two German Shepherds from this address frequently get loose and act aggressive towards surrounding neighbors which has been reported to Animal Control recently. When they arrived, they dogs were at the residence they belong to. The dogs were acting aggressive but never tried to attack deputies. The homeowners were not home.
4/28/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On April 28, 2018 at around 9:03 A.M., deputies were dispatched to SE Kiger Island Drive near mile post #1 for a reported single vehicle crash. Unit 1 was traveling north when she swerved to miss a squirrel. She first went off the west side of the road then over corrected and went off the east side. Her vehicle went off the embankment and struck some small trees. No injuries were reported.
4/27/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 27, 2018, at about 3:30 p.m., deputies spoke with a resident who called to report suspicious activity at his residence at NW Oak Creek Drive, Corvallis. Unknown person(s) put a letter in his mailbox, and his neighbors describing their disgust in how he treats animals. He said an unknown person unlatched the pen gate a few days before calling as well. Animal Control Deputies spoke with him in the past and did not cite him for any violations regarding his animals.
4/27/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On April 27, 2018 at around 2:50 P.M., deputies stopped Jeremy Dean Gruver, 31, for riding his bicycle against traffic on the sidewalk at NW Kings Blvd and NW Jackson Ave. Jeremy had 3 confirmed Benton County Circuit Court warrants: PCS Methamphetamine, Interfering with a Police Officer, and Failure to Appear First Degree. Jeremy was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
4/27/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On April 27, 2018, at about 12:43 p.m., I was dispatched to Sulphur Springs Road near milepost 1 for a single vehicle crash with injuries. Unit 1 was driving southbound on Sulphur Springs Road, drove off the roadway into the ditch/bank, and came to a rest in the roadway. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for injuries, and his vehicle was towed by B&R Towing to their lot. The driver was cited for Violation of the Basic Speed Rule.
4/27/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On April 27, 2018 at around 1:43 P.M., deputies were dispatched to 180 NW 5th Street, Parole and Probation, for a warrant service. Carl Thomas Frame, 31, had a confirmed Oregon State Parole Board warrant for Parole Violation. Frame was walked over to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged.
4/27/18 - FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY. On April 27, 2018 at around 8:43 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road near mile post #10 for a reported single vehicle rollover. Zachary Russell, 22, was traveling south on Bellfountain Road and appeared to leave the roadway, on the east side, striking a driveway culvert. The plastic culvert was damaged on impact. The vehicle then went airborne and struck a T-Post with a Finley Refuge and No Parking sign attached, ripping it out of the ground. The vehicle continued in the grass field for around 150 feet when it turned sideways and rolled over its side two to three times. The vehicle was abandoned and all documents were taken out of the vehicle prior to law enforcement arrival. Russell was issue criminal citations the following day.
4/26/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at about 4:00 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle for fail to yield to pedestrian and arrested the driver Michael James Gill, 33, for a confirmed Albany Municipal Court warrant, FTC - Discon II. Gill was cited and released with a court date. Gill was also cited for Driving While Suspended - Violation.
4/26/18 - ANIMAL WELFARE CHECK. April 26, 2018 11:50 a.m. deputies performed a welfare check on several dogs living at Webster Ave in Monroe. Minimum care requirements were not being met. The owner was given a list of tasks to be completed to be up to code. Deputies will be returning in one week. The dogs have not been licensed so a deadline was given to get that completed as well.
4/26/18 - IDENTITY THEFT; THEFT 1ST DEGREE; FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD-FELONY. On Thursday, April 26, 2018 at about 9:45 A.M., deputies spoke with a citizen at the Sheriff's Office. She said her Cabelas Club Visa from Capital One Bank was used in Florida and had thousands in charges on it. She said Cabelas contacted her and were working through the situation and they recommended filing a police report. She did not know how much was charged to her card yet.
4/25/18 - BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE; POSSESSION OF WEAPONS BY CERTAIN FELONS – FELONY; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1ST DEGREE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at about 3:07 P.M., deputies were dispatched to a trespass at Priceview Drive and later arrested Arik Santiago, 30, for Burglary II, Felon in Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Trespass I, and Criminal Mischief II. Santiago was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
4/25/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at about 12:28 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle for no front license plate near Highway 99W and Conifer Boulevard. Bill Blanchat Jr., 38, was arrested for a confirmed Oregon State Parole Board - Parole Violation. Blanchat was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was lodged.
4/25/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. April 25, 2017 11:29 a.m. deputies gave a warning to a dog owner living on Crandall Ave in Monroe for his dog running at large in a neighbor. The dog was not licensed so a deadline was given to get that completed.
4/24/18 – DUII; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE; WARRANT ARREST. On April 24, 2018, at 10:22 PM, deputies stopped Stephen Schmidt-Shelton, 35, on SE Lilly Street near SE Bethel Street in Corvallis after they observed him drive past them on 3rd Street in Corvallis. Schmidt-Shelton had three confirmed warrants for his arrest for: Benton County Circuit Court for UPCS- Methamphetamine X2; Sweet Home Municipal Court for False Information; and Lebanon Municipal Court for Contempt of Court. Schmidt-Shelton was additionally charged with DUII and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Schmidt-Shelton was lodged at the Benton County Jail on the listed charges.
4/23/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On Monday, April 23, 2018 at around 4:50 PM, deputies arrived at NW 53rd St., for a disturbance. The complainant was accusing the store of short changing him earlier that day. The owner showed deputies the video of the complainant paying for products with a $5.00 bill and receiving the correct change from the clerk. He stated he paid with a $20.00 bill. Deputies told the complainant they had seen the video and because he was disorderly during this interaction, the owner wanted the complainant trespassed from the property.
4/23/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On 4/23/18, at 1645, SYKES, Kali Anne, 31, turned herself into the jail lobby on a confirmed warrant for her arrest Failure to Appear on a Theft in the Second Degree charge from the Benton County Circuit Court.
4/23/18 - BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE – INCONVENIENCE; THEFT 1ST DEGREE - BY DECEPTION. On Monday April 23, 2018 at about 2:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Luckiamute Rd for a report of a burglary of items from totaling $4,601.
4/23/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1ST DEGREE. On April 23, 2018 at around 11:18 A.M., deputies were dispatched to S 10th Street for a reported Trespass committed by Muriel Hubbard, 51. She was issued a citation in lieu of custody for Criminal Trespass and again, was told she cannot go to the residence.
4/18/18 - BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE; THEFT 2ND DEGREE; THEFT 1ST DEGREE. On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at about 8:01 am, deputies were dispatched to a theft that occurred at Springhill Country Club Golf Course at 155 NW Country Club Drive. 25 gallons of fuel were taken from a storage tank, bags of pop cans, a chainsaw, and two gas cans were taken from a maintenance buildings, and over $8,800 worth of golf clubs were taken from a golf cart garage, sometime between 4/14/18 and 4/18/18.
4/25/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On April 25, 2018, Unit 1 was eastbound on Coon Rd. As he crested a rise in the road, he saw a dog on the roadway. He swerved to miss the dog and drove into the ditch. His vehicle was damaged from the impact with the ditch at the driveway and had to be towed. Deputies spoke with the dog owner, who acknowledged her dog was running at large. She said she would contact the driver to provide information for his insurance.
4/24/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 1ST DEGREE. On April 24th, 2018 at about 6:26 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen by phone in regard to a hit and run in the parking lot of the Luckiamute Park. Deputies contacted him at his residence and determined a vehicle had not struck his car, rather it appeared someone may have kicked his fender.
4/24/18 - SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE. On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, around 4:55 P.M., deputies arrived at the south parking lot of the Benton County Fairgrounds (110 SW 53rd Street) for a suspicious vehicle. A caller reported seeing a red Honda civic in the parking lot and they believed it was stolen, which it was not.
4/24/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On 04/24/18 Eversull, Ward, 37, turned himself in on a confirmed warrant for Asslt IV, FTA II, and Harassment. Eversull was released with the court date.
4/24/18 - THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On Tuesday April 24, 2018 at about 1:20 P.M., deputies spoke with a NE Seavy Circle resident by telephone. She stated between April 21 and April 24, someone stole her front license plate off of her vehicle.
4/23/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 23rd, 2018 at about 8:54 PM, deputies were dispatched to Alpine Road for a report of suspicious activity. The resident said she heard banging around outside her house. She said she also found one of her earrings and some loose change on the hood of her car that should have been in her house. There were no new footprints in the wet grass where she suspected someone had been. She suspected her current husband or her ex-husband were doing this to her. Deputies searched the area and found no indication anyone had been walking around outside the house.
4/23/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/FAMILY. On April 23, 2018 at approximately 4:29 PM, deputies were dispatched to Adair Village for report of an out of control 11 year old threatening people with a stick.
4/23/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Monday April 23, 2018 at about 8:00 A.M., Deputies arrived at SE Bridgeway for a warrant service on Joseph Gomez, 37. Gomez had a confirmed warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for FTA – PCS Methamphetamine and two confirmed cite and release warrants out of Linn County for FTA - PCS Methamphetamine and FTA - Criminal Cite. Deputies contacted Gomez inside the residence.
4/21/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On Saturday, April 21, 2018 at around 6:15 PM, deputies spoke with a citizen outside the Sheriff's Office about someone damaging his tires at his residence on Camellia Drive, Corvallis. An unknown person took what looked like a pick and flattened all of his tires while it was in his driveway the night before. He suspected a male driving a pickup truck that had yelled at him about how loud his car is.
4/20/18 - PUBLIC NUISANCE. On April 20, 2018 3:00 p.m., deputies gave a warning to a dog owner living at SE 3rd Street in Corvallis for allowing his dog to bark for an extended period of time disturbing a neighbor.
4/22/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On April 22, 2018 at around 1:15 P.M., deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an improper turn at Greenberry Road and Highway 99. The driver, Krystal Kirk, 30, had a confirmed Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for Contempt of Court. She was provided a citation in lieu of custody and released on scene.
4/22/18 – DUII; DWS MISDEMEANOR; WARRANT ARREST. On Sunday, April 22, 2018 at about 6:35 am, Deputies arrived at Highway 99W near Thousand Oaks Drive after being dispatched to a public assist. The spoke with Robert Mathis, 42, who had two confirmed warrants and was suspended misdemeanor. Deputies also arrested Robert for DUII.
4/21/18 - OFFENSIVE LITTERING. On Saturday April 21, 2018 at about 10:30 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Cardwell Hill Drive to speak with a resident. He stated for about a week, he has seen a female between the ages of 30-45 walk along Cardwell Hill Dr. During this time period, he has frequently discovered garbage near the end of his driveway. He believes the female is responsible for dumping the garbage. He said this happens between 3:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.m. and requested extra patrol in the area.
4/21/18 - DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. On Saturday April 21, 2018 at about 9:30 A.M., deputies were dispatched to SE Crystal Lake Drive for a report of a male yelling and braking things outside of the residence. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the resident who stated he was in his back yard braking boards with a metal baseball bat out of frustration. No crime committed.
4/21/18 – DUII. On Saturday, April 21, 2018, at approximately 2:40 A.M., deputies stopped Donald Newton, 24, on Van Buren Avenue near 6th Street after a traffic violation. Newton was arrested for DUII following field sobriety tests and cited for Failure to Obey a One Way Designation.
4/20/18 - INTERFERING WITH PEACE OFFICER. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at about 11:30 P.M., deputies arrested Alysha Kitchin, 26, for interfering with a Peace Officer.
4/20/18 – WARRANT ARREST; FALSE INFORMATION TO POLICE. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at about 11:30 P.M., deputies arrested Mikel Lepp, 25, a Probation Violation confirmed Warrant out of Umatilla County. Mikel originally told deputies his name was "Jeff Donald Heights" because he had a job interview and did not want to be arrested. Lepp was transported, booked, and lodged.
4/20/18 - THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at approximately 9:45 P.M., deputies arrived at Northwest Highland Drive for a reported theft. The complainant said he had a suspect that stole cigarettes, soda, and coffee grounds from him. Deputies spoke with the suspect who said he did not steal these things, but if he wanted to use them in the future he would ask permission.
4/20/18 - UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE. On April 20, 2018 at around 2:46 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W for a reported stolen vehicle. The resident reported his pickup truck was taken sometime between April 18, 2018 and April 20, 2018, from his farm.
4/20/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at about 3:00 P.M., deputies located Johnathan Smith, 26, on SW Pickford Place and he was arrested on two confirmed Benton County warrants: PPS-Abscond Fail to report As a Sex Offender and PV-Abscond Recklessly Endangering.
4/20/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at approximately 2:00 PM, deputies contacted Chad Foster, 50, and Karen Bentley, 47, on Starker Forest Property on a spur road off BLM Road 13-7-13.1. Foster and Bentley were camping illegally on Starker Forest property. Deputies arrested both Foster and Bentley for Criminal Trespass II and cited and released them in the field.
4/20/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 20, 2018 at around 11:28 A.M., Deputies dispatched to Brownley Heights Drive for a reported burglary in progress. The resident reported she heard what she thought to be someone trying to gain entry, by hitting the rear door to her residence. Upon arrival deputies found a male turkey, pecking at the back door. They advised the resident it was not a person.
4/20/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On April 20, 2018 at around 10:50 A.M., deputies arrested Jonathan Forney, 18, for Criminal Trespass II. He was previously trespassed from Crescent Valley High School and returned.
4/20/18 - ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On April 20, 2018 at around 9:44 A.M., Deputies were dispatched to NW Highland Drive to assist with a student walk out. They arrived and conducted a presence patrol in the quad and auditorium during the walk out and speeches. The walk out was completed without incident.
4/20/18 - FALSE ALARM BUSINESS. On Friday, April 20, 2018 at about 12:10 A.M., deputies were dispatched to the Vineyard Repeater Tower located on NW Cardinal Drive for an alarm. The Vineyard Mountain repeater cabinet open alarm activated. Deputies located the cabinet and saw that it was secured and closed.
4/19/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Thursday, April 19, 2018 at about 10:30 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle at Highway 20 near Milepost 38 for having its brake lights continuously activated while not braking. The driver, Arturo Garcia Ramirez, 35, was suspended Misdemeanor. Arturo was cited and released. Arturo remained off the roadway while he waited for a valid driver to arrive.
4/19/18 - ASSISTANCE OTHER GOVERNMENT AGENCIES. On April 19, 2018 Staff from Monroe Grade School in Monroe reported seeing a mountain lion walking through an open field south of play fields. The animal was seen around 10:30 am and the children were placed on lock down, not able to go outside. Deputies arrived around 11:15 am, and checked the area with BCSO K9 Vortex. After no sign of the animal, children were released outside to play after their lunch break. Deputies remained in the school yard for the lunch break with the children to help them feel safe. Staff reported the sighting to the ODFW Office in Adair Village.
4/13/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Friday, April 13th, 2018 at around 7:12 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on Highway 180 just past Devit Road near MP 17. She stated a deer ran out in front of her and she drove off the roadway on the south side and ran into a tree.
4/10/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On April 10th, 2018 at about 9:45 AM, deputies responded to Monroe for report of shots fired. As they were checking the area, they were informed by a neighbor they had been told a local resident had been hunting a cougar that had killed 3 of his sheep, which was the shots that were heard. Deputies were not able to locate the persons shooting and no one knew exactly who they were or which farmer it was.
4/18/18 - UNSAFE PASSING OF PERSON OPERATING BICYCLE. On April 18th, 2018 at about 7:27 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen in regard to a traffic complaint. He said he and his wife were riding their bikes south bound on Bellfountain Road near Chapel Drive when a UPS truck passed them within 2 to 3 feet, heading the same direction. Deputies explained the process of filling out a citizen's citation through the courts. He said he planned to contact UPS and make his determination at a later date.
4/19/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Thursday, April 19, 2018 at about 7:30 A.M., deputies were dispatched to a crash on NW 53RD Street near Harrison Boulevard. Unit 1 rear-ended Unit 2 while he was stopped in traffic. No injuries. Both were able to drive away.
4/6/18 - UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE. On Friday, April 6, 2018, at approximately 6:35 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Banks Lane for a reported stolen vehicle. Deputies arrived and spoke with the owner who said her vehicle and her horse trailer had been stolen from her property between 2:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. On April 8, 2018. The vehicle was recovered in California. The horse trailer was recovered in Deschutes County a few days later.
4/5/18 – PROSTITUTION; FUGITIVE ARREST. On Thursday, April 5, 2018, WENRONG ZHOU, 51, was arrested for prostitution on NW 2nd Street, Corvallis. ZHOU also had a warrant out of Texas for Prostitution. ZHOU was transported to the Benton County Jail.
4/19/18 – DUII. On April 19, 2018, AT 12:58 AM, Deputies responded to Highway 99W near mile post 69 in Polk County for what was reported as a traffic crash. The crash turned out to be a vehicle in a ditch and there was no property damage. The driver of the vehicle, Bill Blanchat, 38, was arrested for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Blanchat was later evaluated by a Certified Drug Recognition Expert at the Benton County Sheriff's Office
4/18/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at approximately 5:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the lobby of the Law Enforcement Center for a reported fraud. A citizen reported to deputies that she received a check for 1600.00 dollars from a company named, "Curbell," in the mail. She said she didn’t know why should receive this so she contacted the company. Curbell asked her to report this to the Sheriff's Office.
4/18/18 - BCSO - LIVESTOCK AT LARGE. On April 18, 2018 8:45 a.m., deputies transported two goats at large from Crescent Valley High School to the Heartland Humane Society where they were impounded. Neither were wearing a collar, nor were they micro chipped.
4/18/18 – DUII. On April 18, 2018, at 12:37 AM, deputies stopped Conner Maddalozzo, 21, on Van Buren Avenue near 2nd Street in Corvallis for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and Improper Turn. Conner was later arrested for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Maddalozzo was evaluated by a Certified Drug Recognition Expert and lodged at the Benton County Jail.
4/17/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at about 11:05 pm, deputies stopped Joshua Gaffney, 47, for riding a bicycle with no forward facing light. Joshua had a confirmed warrant for Interfering with a Peace Officer out of Benton County. He was issued a citation in lieu of custody and he was released
4/17/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at about 9:12 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highway 20 near mile post 41. The driver, Mary Waters, 23, was subsequently arrested on a confirmed Multnomah County warrant for FTA Cocaine charges.
4/17/18 - THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at about 3:50 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the Sheriff's Office for a reported theft complaint by a citizen who said her sister stole her disabled parking permit while she was living with her. She said she has since moved to Sweet Home and needs her permit back.
4/16/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 16, 2018 at 6:52 deputies were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle on NW Oak Creek DR and Ridgewood. Deputies located the vehicle and contacted a woman inside. The woman was informed that someone had complained about where she was parking her vehicle and she volunteered to leave. She was compliant and left at approximately at 9:14 PM.
4/16/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Monday April 16th, 2018 at about 7:15 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle traveling South on Highway 501 near milepost #9 for Expired Registration. Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle who stated that his license was, "REVOKED" and handed them a Washington Identification Card identifying him as BENJAMIN ROSS, 56. He was issued citations for Driving While Revoked - Misdemeanor and cited and released from the scene.
4/16/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Monday April 16, 2018 at about 9:20 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Tum Tum Rd to speak with a resident for a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival deputies observed a large trench, about five feet deep at the entrance of the property. The property owner stated his son was responsible for the trench. No crime occurred.
4/15/18 – DUII; RECKLESS ENDANGERING; PURCHASE OR POSSESSION OF LIQUOR BY MINOR. On April 15, 2018 at about 3:10 am, deputies stopped Shelby Vick, 19, for multiple traffic violations on Walnut near Highway 99W and arrested Vick for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely. Jonathan Sattler, 20, was also cited for MIP-Alcohol.
4/14/18 - BCSO - LIVESTOCK AT LARGE. On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at approximately 5:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to cows at large on Airport Road near Cutler Lane. Deputies arrived and got the cows off the roadway and then contacted their owner by phone. He responded to the location and assisted in getting all four cows back onto his property. The fence on the property had been knocked over by a car driving off the roadway and he told deputies that he was going to have to fix it. The cows were moved to another field.
4/13/18 - FOUND PROPERTY. On Friday, April 13, 2018 at approximately 8:40 P.M., deputies were given a car key which was sitting on the road in on a keychain on Hwy 99W near Elliot Circle. The key was placed it in evidence for safekeeping.
4/13/18 - CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE; CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE; OFFENSIVE LITTERING. On Friday, April 13, 2018 at about 3:05 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Stow Pit Road on the east side of the Long Tom River for reported criminal mischief. Deputies towed a yellow, Ford F150 that had been driving around in the fields. Then on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, they arrested Timathy Sagmoen for Criminal Trespass II, Criminal Mischief II, and Offensive Littering.
4/13/18 - THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On April 13, 2018, deputies were dispatched to Blake Drive for a theft complaint. The resident found his mailbox was stolen sometime during the night. The mailbox was mounted on a wooden post at the intersection of the driveway and road. The mailbox was pried off the post and was nowhere to be found. He estimated value of mailbox and cost to replace over $150.
4/13/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. April 13, 2018 11:36 a.m., deputies gave a warning to a chicken owner living on Springhill Drive in Albany for allowing her chickens to run into the neighbor's yard and create damage.
4/11/18 - FALSE ALARM BUSINESS. On April 11, 2018 at around 11:25 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 34 near Philomath for a panic alarm at the Oregon Department of Forestry Office. Deputies arrived and contacted front office staff. The staff did not know the cause of the alarm and said one of them may have accidentally hit the button on their desk. No emergency at the office.
4/16/18 - ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On Monday April 16, 2018 at about 2:30 P.M., deputies observed a semi-truck with trailer on the east side of Highway 99W near mile post 89. The driver turned into a private driveway and got the end of the trailer stuck in the ditch. A tow company assisted in removing to the trailer from the road.
4/16/18 - THEFT 3RD DEGREE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE. On April 16, 2018 at around 10:40 A.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a resident, by telephone, regarding a theft at his residence on NW Springhill Drive. He has an egg and fruit stand which has a metal drop box on the exterior for people to pay. He reported sometime between Saturday and Sunday afternoon an unknown person broke into the box by cutting the lock and took around $2.50.
4/15/18 - DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. On April 15, 2018 at about 7:52 PM, deputies were dispatched to NE Laurel Dr. Adair Village for a noise complaint. Deputies contacted the resident and told him to turn down the music and was warned if they were called to this residence again he would be cited.
4/15/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Sunday, April 15, 2018 at approximately 3:37 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 20 and NE Granger Avenue. Unit 1 was on NE Granger Avenue, turning east onto Highway 20. Unit 2 was driving west on Highway 20 and did not have time to stop his vehicle after Unit 1 pulled out in front of him.
4/15/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On Sunday April 15, 2018 at about 11:45 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 mile post 8 for an injury crash. Unit 1 was traveling west, was negotiating a curve, and began hydroplaning. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the ditch.
4/15/18 – DUII. On Sunday, April 15, 2018, at about 3:35 am, deputies went out with a vehicle in the parking lot of the Blodgett Store at 21412 Highway 20 and later arrested the driver, Jonathon Hilchey, 22, for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
4/14/18 - FAIL TO RETURN SUSPENDED/REVOKED/CANCELLED LICENSE. On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at approximately 8:46 P.M., deputies stopped LUDWIG URIBE, 22, for speeding, 37/25 at NW 14th Street and NW Grant Ave. LUDWIG provided deputies with an Oregon Driver's License which was suspended. He was issued a citation for Speeding, 37/25, DWS Violation, and issued a criminal citation in lieu of arrest for Failure To Return Suspended License
4/14/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at about 7:45 P.M., deputies spoke to a complainant by phone. She stated some hound dogs have been coming onto her property over the past few days. She has not seen anyone on her property, but sees and hears the dogs.
4/14/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Saturday April 14, 2018 at about 11:30 A.M., deputies spoke with a complainant by telephone. She stated she was missing two pairs of denim slacks and a throw rug. She said the items were on her bed earlier this month, and noticed they were missing this morning. She said all of the doors to her home were locked and nothing appeared to be disturbed. Deputies recommended an in-home security system may be worth looking into.
4/14/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 14, 2018 at about 6:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Ridgewood and Oak Creek for a report of someone camping inside their vehicle in a parking lot. Deputies contacted the driver and informed her she was parked in a private parking lot. She agreed to move her van and left the area.
4/14/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING. On Saturday, April 14, 2018, at about 2:00 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding and later arrested the driver, Conner Hibbs, 24, for DUII after it was determined Hibbs was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
4/14/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at about 12:30 A.M. deputies were dispatched to NW Seavy Avenue for a report of two people on the front porch of a residence. Based on video obtained from a RING doorbell, one of the males pushes the doorbell then promptly runs away. The supect that pushed the doorbell was a mid-teens, white male, with light curly hair and untucked long-sleeved shirt. Deputies checked the area and was unable to locate the button presser.
4/13/18 - THEFT 1ST DEGREE. On Friday, April 13, 2018 at around 6:15 PM, deputies spoke with a citizen by phone regarding over $18,000.00 being taken from her bank account. From November 2014 until this month, the money was debited from the Washington Federal account.
4/13/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On April 13, 2018 at around 3:12 P.M., deputies were dispatched to NW Scenic Drive near mile post #2 for a reported single vehicle crash. Unit 1 was traveling south on NW Scenic Drive near mile post #2 when the wood chipper attached to her vehicle began to swerve. She attempted to correct the trailer, but the trailer went off the shoulder into the ditch. When it came back on the road the passenger side wheel assembly broke off causing it to flip onto its side. She saw the trailer come off and attempted to turn around but her rear driver's wheel also went off into the ditch.
4/12/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. April 12, 2018 10:53 a.m., deputies left a written warning for the dog owner residing on Scenic Drive in Albany. The warning was for the dog barking and disturbing a neighbor.
4/12/18 - ANIMAL WELFARE CHECK. April 12, 2018 10:10 a.m., deputies performed a welfare check on an “abandoned puppy”. The puppy was not abandoned; she was a livestock guardian dog in training. The owner was educated about proper housing.
4/11/18 - ACCIDENT INJURY. On April 11, 2018 at around 10:15 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 near milepost 48 for a report of an injury motor vehicle accident. Unit 1 was driving eastbound on Highway 20, went off the shoulder of the road, and over corrected his steering. He drove his vehicle off the highway and into trees, causing property damage to a residence
4/10/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Tuesday, April 10, 2018, around 11:55 P.M., deputies I arrived at Alpine Road for suspicious activity. The resident said she could hear people walking around the house and talking. Deputies did not find anyone around the residence, but did see raccoons come off the roof.
4/10/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. On April 10, 2018 2:16 p.m., deputies transported a stray dog at large, from the 1800 block of NE Seavy, to the Heartland Humane Society where she was impounded. The dog was not wearing a collar but was micro chipped. The owner picked up the dog later that day.
4/9/18 - BCSO - TRAFFIC MOVING. On Monday, April 9, 2018, around 5:45 P.M., deputies were dispatched to E Main Street, Alsea for a vehicle crash. The vehicle left the scene prior to their arrival. The driver said he went into the store and his vehicle rolled into a stop sign. He said he would fix the sign which sustained very minor damage.
4/9/18 - CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE; ATTEMPT TO ELUDE - FLEE IN VEHICLE; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF HEROIN; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On Monday, April 9, 2018 at about 1:42 A.M., deputies arrested Rochelle Smith, 21, for Attempting to Elude and other charges. Rochelle stole a vehicle from a friend in Corvallis and drove it on Highway 99 near Llewlleyn road. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle for having no rear taillights. Rochelle turned into a driveway and attempted to flee in the vehicle, eventually crashing into a pole and getting stuck in the grass. Rochelle was transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked and lodged.
4/13/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; RECKLESS ENDANGERING. On Friday, April 13, 2018, at about 1:00 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding and later arrested the driver, Michaela Reed, 21, for DUII after it determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
4/13/18 – DUII; DWS MISDEMEANOR. On April 13, 2018, at 12:20 AM, deputies stopped Arturo Armas on NW 21st Street near NW Taylor Avenue in Corvallis after he made a wide turn and nearly struck a curb with his vehicle. Armas was later arrested for DUII and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor. Armas was transported to the Benton County Jail.
4/12/18 - FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY. On Thursday, April 12, 2018 at about 1:30 P.M., deputies were dispatched to NW Independence Hwy for a hit and run. A resident said she was backing into her driveway on the west side of Independence Hwy when she saw a dark colored truck with a hose hanging down from the end of the truck hit her mailbox, scattering mail and destroying the mailbox. She said the hose was flopping around and is what hit the mailbox. She also said she did not see a name or license plate just that it looked like a sewer pumping truck. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to find the truck.
4/12/18 - FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-PROPERTY. On April 12, 2018, deputies spoke to a citizen by telephone. Someone crashed into his mailbox that was located on Highway 99W around 1:30 am. He heard the crash, but the car sped off. He was able to bend the pole back up and the mailbox is still useable. No suspect information.
4/12/18 - LIVESTOCK AT LARGE. On Thursday, April 12th, 2018 at about 12:01 AM, deputies were dispatched to a loose bull in the area of Robison Road. The caller said she noticed the bull in her yard at around 11:30 PM. She knew where the bull lived and deputies went to contact the resident
4/11/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at approximately 4:15 P.M., vehicle 1 was driving west and approaching a stop light at Highway 34 and Peoria Road. As he slowed down he did not stop and struck the back of vehicle 2, causing vehicle 2 to strike the back of vehicle 3
4/11/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 11, 2018 at around 2 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Fairgrounds Benton Arena for suspicious activity. Deputies spoke with the circus manager, who reported the previous night and earlier in the day, two women were seen walking around the area taking photographs and/or video of their equipment and animals. When confronted, the women quickly left the area. He was concerned about possible harassment or criminal mischief to their animals or equipment by animal rights protesters for their upcoming performance at the fairgrounds. Deputies checked the area and could not find the women.
4/11/18 - ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at about 11:14 A.M., deputies found a vehicle in the ditch on the north east corner of Granger Avenue and Pettibone Drive. The vehicle was unoccupied. As they were waiting for the tow, a male walked down the street and said it was his. The driver denied being under the influence when he drove into the ditch last night. He said he swerved to avoid another car. The vehicle was not damaged
4/10/18 - ANIMAL WELFARE CHECK. On April 10, 2018 11:20 a.m., deputies performed a welfare check on a dairy cow living on Long Road in Blodgett. Deputies found the cow to be on the thin side but not emaciated or in need of immediate veterinary care

A witness reported seeing a vehicle drive into the ditch on the South side of Highway 20 near Noon Road. She said she spoke with the driver who shortly later left the scene

4/7/18 - BCSO - TOWED VEHICLE. On April 7th, 2018 at about 4:08 A.M., deputies arrived at Maxfield Creek Road in Monmouth for a report of a suspicious vehicle near the driveway of the residence. The caller reported a black Camaro near their driveway and having heard noises on their property. Deputies found that the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro had likely been parked there for quite a while, as the engine area was cold to the touch and the car was locked and unoccupied. The car towed and later discovered it was stolen

4/9/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Monday, April 9, 2018, around 7:10 A.M., deputies arrived at Harris Road for suspicious activity. A resident said her Chevy pickups alarm went off and when she looked outside saw the inside light on. She checked the area and did not see anyone. Deputies looked around the area and did not see anything suspicious. She said it did not appear anyone entered the pickup and if she saw anything suspicious she would notify the Sheriff's Office.
4/9/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On April 9, 2018 at about 12:53 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Robison Rd and Military Rd for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked on the side the road. The caller stated the vehicle had pulled into an address on Military Rd prior to arrival. Deputies located the vehicle parked at the above address and contacted the driver. She stated she was pulled over on the side of the road because she felt sick and lives at the residence.
4/8/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/ARGUE. On Sunday, April 8, 2018 at approximately 8:04 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W for report of an argument between two neighbors. The two have been arguing about a dog bite. Animal Control Deputy respond the following day to follow up with the owner of the dog.
4/8/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Sunday, April 8, 2018, around 5:53 P.M., deputies arrived at the Benton County Fairgrounds for reports of a vehicle spinning around in the gravel. Deputies located the vehicle driving up and down the gravel parking lot. The driver was learning to drive a manual vehicle and was driving back and forth. No damage to the parking lot.
4/7/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On April 7, 2018, at about 11:35 a.m., deputies went to NE Laurel Drive, Adair Village, to serve two confirmed cite and release misdemeanor warrants on ALEXANDRA MORALES SALINAS, 33. They contacted SALINAS at her residence, told her about the warrants, and cited and released her with citations and court dates. The warrants were for Shoplifting/Theft II out of Marion County Circuit Court and PV Contempt out of Linn County Justice Court.
4/7/18 - BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On Saturday, April 7, 2018, at about 3:45 am, deputies were dispatched to Highway 34 for a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival they spoke with the complaint who stated he heard three shots fired east of his property. He was concerned about the direction of the shots being towards his residence. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate any responsible parties.
4/7/18 - DUII. On Saturday, April 7, 2018, at about 2:30 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for Failure to Drive Within Lane and later arrested the driver, Mardonio Palomino Agurto, 28, for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
4/6/18 - DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Friday, April 6, 2018 at about 10:00 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle on Bellfountain Road near Coon Road. David McCoy Jr’s, 24, license was suspended misdemeanor. He was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody.
4/6/18 - FAILURE TO REPORT AS SEX OFFENDER. On April 6, 2018 at about 8:00 P.M., deputies attempted to locate Felipe Leo Morfin, 29, at his residence in Corvallis, which is the address Felipe registered on his Sex Offender Registration. Deputies spoke with a resident at the address, who stated Felipe had not lived at there since August 2017 (far more than 10 days). Felipe had not updated his registered address since moving. Deputies have probable cause to believe that Felipe Morfin made a change of residence and did not update his sex offender registration (ORS 163A.040). Deputies requested the Benton County District Attorney's Office issue a warrant for Felipe's arrest.
4/6/18 - FAIL TO CARRY/PRESENT ODL; FUGITIVE ARREST. On April 6, 2018, deputies stopped BRIAN VARMA, 39, for traffic violations and arrested him for confirmed misdemeanor warrants out of various courts in Linn County, and failure to carry and present license. VARMA was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and released on citations for the crimes, and released with a court date for one of the warrants. VARMA was issued a citation for driving uninsured and driving while suspended (violation).
4/6/18 - ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Friday, April 6th, 2018 at around 4:30 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on NW Lewisburg Dr approaching NW Mountain View Dr. Vehicle #2 was traveling eastbound on NW Lewisburg Dr., but was stopped at NW Mountain View Dr attempting to turn north onto NW Mountain View Dr. Vehicle #1 failed to notice Vehicle #2 was stopped to turn and ran into the back of Vehicle #2. Both vehicles were able to leave without tow truck.
4/6/18 – WARRANT ARREST; UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On Friday, April 6, 2018 at about 2:45 p.m., deputies saw Kalina Jo White, 24, walking northbound next to the railroad tracks behind Carmike Cinema in the 1900 block of NE Four Acre Place. Deputies arrested White on two confirmed warrants: FTA- PCS Meth and Criminal Trespass II; FTA- Disorderly Conduct II and Interfering with a Peace Officer. Two methamphetamine pipes with significant residue in her pockets was found. She was transported to the Jail on the warrants and two charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamines.
4/6/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. On April 6, 2018 9:15 a.m., deputies picked up a dog in custody from SW Janet Way in Corvallis and transported the dog to the Heartland Humane Society where he was impounded. The dog and owner were later reunited at the shelter.
4/6/18 – DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING. On Friday, April 6, 2018, at about 1:00 am, deputies stopped a silver vehicle for failure to obey a traffic control device and later arrested the driver Karlee Simmons, 21, for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
4/5/18 - WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, April 5, 2018 at about 10:00 a.m., deputies responded to W Alder Street in Alsea, Oregon and arrested Karl Poage, 55, who had a confirmed Benton County Circuit Court Warrant for Failure to Appear – Menacing. Benton County Jail requested he be cited to appear on the warrant. He was cited and released.
4/4/18 - RESISTING ARREST; UNLAWFUL CUTTING AND TRANSPORT OF FOREST PRODUCTS. On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at approximately 12:09 PM, deputies were on BLM property driving on BLM Road 13-9-23.1 in the Sharps Ranch area. Deputies located a Van parked on the side of the road. After a few minutes they located a male who had been picking Salal in the area. After talking with the male who was later identified as Carlos Perez Pablo, 29, deputies started to place him under arrest for Unlawful Cut and Transport of Minor Forest Products. After a brief struggle, Perez got away from them and continued running down a drainage. Other deputies responded and the van was towed. Deputies contacted the owner of the van, who brought in Perez Pablo the next day to the Sheriff's Office. Perez Pablo was arrested at the LEC and taken to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and released for Resisting Arrest and Unlawful Cut and Transport of Minor Forest Products.
4/4/18 - BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. April 2, 2018 2:24 p.m., deputies contacted a livestock owner living on SW 53rd Street in Corvallis. The livestock owner was not properly burying her deceased livestock. She was educated on statute 601.140.
4/4/18 - ANIMAL WELFARE CHECK. On April 4, 2018 1:50 p.m., deputies performed a donkey welfare check at Mountain View Drive. The donkey's hooves were badly overgrown. The donkey's body condition appeared healthy and normal. The owner made an appointment with a farrier to trim the hooves.
4/4/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. April 4, 2018 11:03 a.m., deputies arrived at All Creatures Great and Small Vet Clinic for a dog in custody. Deputies transported an adult female, short, stocky, black pit bull to the Heartland Humane Society where she was impounded.
4/3/18 - SURRENDER ANIMAL. April 3, 2108 10:13 a.m., deputies set 6 live humane traps on East Ingram Island Road in Monroe to start catching a feral cat colony. Deputies will be transporting the cats to the Heartland Humane Society where they will be impounded.
4/3/18 - SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at approximately 7:17 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen regarding suspicious activity at her residence. She told deputies over the past two weeks there have been two instances where a dry paper towel has been left on her doorstep while it was raining. Then she said this morning she found a box of corn meal propped up against her door. She told deputies she has set up a trail camera and wanted to merely document the incidents in case someone is located.
4/3/18 - PERMITTING A DOG TO RUN AT LARGE. April 3, 2018 11:03 a.m. I gave a warning to a dog owner living on Shady Oak Drive in Monroe for an ongoing issue with his two dogs running at large, chasing chickens, digging up yards and barking excessively. The owner was no longer able to care for his dogs so relatives placed them in new homes.
3/31/18, GIVING FALSE INFORMATION TO A POLICE OFFICER FOR A CITATION. On Friday, March 31, 2018 at about 1:30 p.m., the Corvallis Police Department was sent to do a warrant service on Andre Ulysses Tucker, 49. The description given, matched that of a male deputies had just spoken to, who told them his name was "John Tucker". Deputies met CPD in the 1800 block of NW 9th Street and confirmed it was the same person they had talked to. He was issued a citation for Giving False Information To A Peace Officer and CPD transported him to jail on additional charges.
3/31/18, BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE. THEFT 1ST DEGREE. On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at about 8:45 a.m., deputies took a report of a residential burglary and theft that had occurred on Highway 20. The resident reported approximately $20,000 worth of diamond jewelry stolen and approximately $250 in quarters from a plastic pig bank. No suspects at this time.
3/31/18, RECKLESS DRIVING, RECKLESS ENDANGERING, OFFENSIVE LITTERING. On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at about 10:00 a.m., deputies responded to a call of a semi-truck that was following a pickup too closely and throwing things out of the windows at the pickup. Deputies stopped the vehicles involved at Philomath Blvd and Hillview Ave. Hayk Tadevosyan, 26, was cited in lieu of custody for Reckless Driving and issued a citation for Following Too Closely. His passenger, Kristine Pogosyan, 32, was cited in lieu of custody for Reckless Endangering and Offensive Littering.
3/26/18, DUII, RECKLESS DRIVING. On Monday, March 26, 2018 at approximately 1:10 A.M., deputies were dispatched to Highway 20 near milepost 7 for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival deputies spoke with the driver, Ryan Smith, 28. There were numerous alcohol containers in and around the driver's compartment. Smith was arrested for DUII following field sobriety tests and transported to the Law Enforcement Center. He was cited for DUII, Reckless Driving, Open Container, Fail to Use Safety Belt, and Improper Display of Stickers.
3/25/18, DUII OF DRUGS, RECKLESS DRIVING. On March 25, 2018 at approximately 5:30PM, deputies stopped Derham MOHAMED for speed on Highway 20 near milepost 4. They could smell the overwhelming odor of marijuana coming from MOHAMED's vehicle. MOHAMED had bloodshot eyes and droopy eyelids. MOHAMED had a slack facial appearance. MOHAMED said he smoked marijuana at 5:00 or 6:00 that morning. MOHAMED consented to field sobriety tests. MOHAMED consented to a Drug Influence Evaluation ad was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving.
3/24/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Saturday, March 24, 2018 at approximately 6:20 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Green Peak Road and Alpine Road for a report of a male who took the keys out of someone's car and left the area. The male had reportedly brought the keys back before deputies arrived. Deputies arrived and spoke with a man who said he saw someone parked in his driveway and he thought they were going to break into the house because one of them was wearing, "war paint." He gave the keys back and the person drove away. They later spoke with witnesses who told them they stopped to take pictures when the keys were taken.
3/31/18, WARRANT ARREST. SUMMARY: On Saturday, March 31, 2018 at about 10:15 pm, deputies contacted Shane Blanshan on Highway 20 at the Blodgett Store after deputies saw them pulled over. Shane had three confirmed warrants:  Lebanon Municipal Court, Contempt of Court, DWS Misdemeanor; Linn County, Theft II; and Marion County, Theft II. Shane was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
3/30/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Friday, March 30, 2018 at 1:30 PM, deputies contacted SHELBI NUNN, 24, in a vehicle in a Corvallis parking lot. She was arrested on two confirmed, felony warrants. The driver of the vehicle, MICHAEL JAY BAKER, 30, also had warrants for his arrest and was taken into custody by BCSO Deputies who responded to assist. BAKER'S vehicle was seized pending a search warrant after CPD Officer’s drug detecting K9 alerted to the odor of controlled substances. NUNN was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail on her warrants. NUNN was also charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm (X2), Theft I (X2), and Transfer of a Firearm by an Unlicensed Person (X2) in connection with a different investigation.
3/30/18, DUII. On March 30, 2018 at about 2:49 am, deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle non-injury traffic crash on Highway 99w near Hubbard Rd. Alexander Curnew, 40, was northbound when he reportedly swerved to miss a hen pheasant that flew across the road. Curnew drove down into the east ditch and got stuck. Curnew was arrested for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a motor vehicle safely.
3/29/18, CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE - UNDER $500. On Thursday, March 29th, 2018, deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99W and Llewellyn Road for a vehicle stuck in the field. Deputies arrived and spoke with NICOLE REID, 26, and JAMES ALLEN MOORE, 28, who admitted to driving their vehicle along the field and getting it stuck. REID and MOORE had no lawful reason to be driving in a farmer’s field. REID admitted to driving the vehicle and was cited for Criminal Trespass II and Criminal Mischief III for the damage caused to the field. MOORE was cited for Criminal Trespass II.
3/29/18, THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Thursday, March 29, 2018 at around 5:45 PM, deputies spoke with a business owner by phone about missing money. She said on February 21st, 2018, $170 was debited from the checking account using an application called VENMO. She said a few weeks later, $508.00 was taken from a desk drawer from the office. She said the bank is investigating the VENMO debit to track it to the bank account it was transferred to but needed a case number to begin.
3/29/18, ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On March 29, 2018, deputies were dispatched to NE Confier Blvd to assist a homeowner with a trapped grey fox. The resident set some live traps for nuisance raccoons and caught a wild grey fox. He had difficulty removing the animal from the trap. Deputies called ODWF Office in Adair Village, who said to release the animal on federal land. The fox was released to the forest on Botkin Road near the mail line road.
3/28/18, DUII, RECKLESS ENDANGERING, ACCIDENT INJURY. On March 29, 2018 at about 1:52 am, deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash on Highway 99w north of Elliott Cir. Justin Ryning, 34, was traveling southbound on Highway 99w when he crossed the center line and stuck another vehicle, that was driving northbound. Ryning smelled of an alcoholic beverage, had slurred speech, and slow, deliberate movements. Ryning was transported to the Good Samaritan Hospital due to injuries received in the crash and issued a citation for DUII, Reckless Driving, and Reckless Endangering x2.
3/28/18, THEFT 3RD DEGREE. On Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at about 8:58 a.m., deputies spoke to a resident by phone. He reported a metal lock box and padlock stolen from a produce and egg stand on Springhill Drive. He had no suspects and will be putting up a trail camera with his new box.
3/26/18, DWS MISDEMEANOR, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE, WARRANT ARREST, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF HEROIN. On Monday, March 26, 2018 at about 11:15 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle for Following too Closely. They later arrested the driver, Heather Elmer, 24, for Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. They also arrested the passenger, Daniel Ledgerwood, on six confirmed warrants and Unlawful Possession of Heroin. Heather was issued criminal citations and released and Daniel was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
3/26/18, THEFT 3RD DEGREE, DISORDERLY CONDUCT II, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE - UNDER $500, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE, MENACING. On Monday March 26, 2018 at about 10:22 am, Dispatch broadcasted that an unknown male came into the Parole and Probation Office at 180 NW 5th Street, Corvallis, Oregon 97330 and sprayed a fire extinguisher in the office. Dennis Becker, 31, later confessed to Detective Sergeant Duffitt. Dennis Becker was arrested for menacing-2 counts, disorderly conduct, offensive littering-4 counts, theft III, criminal mischief II- 2 counts, and criminal mischief III. Dennis Becker was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail.
3/26/18, DUII. On Monday, March 26, 2018, at about 12:35 am, Deputies stopped a vehicle for driving 60 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. They later arrested the driver, Cydne Cole-Vargas, 27, for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
3/25/18, BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. On Sunday March 25, 2018 at about 1:52 pm, deputies arrived at N 10th Street Monroe, for a report concerning two dogs at large. The dogs were no longer in the back yard at this residence.
3/25/18, DUII, RECKLESS DRIVING, RECKLESS ENDANGERING, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM. On Sunday, March 25, 2018, at about 11:00 am, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding and later arrested the driver, Brandon Michael Jacobson, 23, for DUII after I determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
3/23/18, DUII. On Friday, March 23, 2018, at about 11:20 pm, deputies stopped a vehicle for Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and later arrested the driver, Cody Stroda, 24, for DUII after it was determined he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
3/23/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Friday, March 23, 2018 at approximately 7:15 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of Main Street and 10th Street in Monroe for a loud argument. They arrived and found a citizen stumbling across the road. She said she had been near a neighbor’s house trying to get cigarette butts. She was told she needed to leave and go home or she would be arrested for Trespass. She left and walked home.
3/23/18, SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE. On March 23 2018, at around 2:51 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of SW Weltzin Avenue for a vehicle which was stuck in the mud in a farm field. Upon arrival deputies contacted Anthony Chay who said he was following his GPS to get to Two Towns Cider for a class. His GPS told him to take a mud road bordering a field and when he got on the road he became stuck in the mud. Deputies looked at his GPS and it actually did tell him to take the farm road. He called his own tow truck to pull him out. There was no damage to the vehicle or property and the vehicle was still operational.
3/23/18, BCSO - TRAFFIC /HAZARD. On March 23, 2018 at approximately 1:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to Hwy 34 near Marys Peak Road for vehicles stuck in the roadway due to the snow. Deputies responded to the area and located a vehicle parked completely in the travel lanes of Hwy 34 near Marys Peak Road. No one was in or around the vehicle and there was a note left on the dash that said something like I will be back later, with no name or phone number. ODOT dump trucks were plowing the roadway and had to drive completely around the vehicle. A request was made to tow the vehicle.
3/22/18, BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF IN THE 3RD DEGREE – INCONVENIENCE. On Thursday, March 22nd, 2018 at around 4:30 PM, deputies arrived at West Hills Road to a reported burglary. An unknown person entered the back door of the residence and was chased off by the dog inside the residence. The dog was located by Deputy Weikel and taken to Heartland Humane Society and later returned to the house sitter.
3/22/18, BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. On March 22, 2018 at around 1:56 pm, deputies were dispatched to West Hills Road in Philomath. A grey and black colored female lab/mix dog arrived at the Color Wheel business around 12:00 pm. Staff at the business checked several homes nearby attempting to find the dog's home before calling the Sheriff's Office. The dog was wearing a pink colored collar but no identification tags were attached. The dog was transported the Heartland Humane Society Office in Corvallis for boarding until dog is reunited with owner.
3/22/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 1:30 PM, deputies went to the Benton County Courthouse at 120 NW 4th Street in Corvallis to attend a sentencing hearing status check for MARK ERIN BAKER, 52. BAKER had a confirmed misdemeanor warrant, Benton County Circuit Court, Contempt of Court, for his arrest from an unrelated child support matter. BAKER was arrested when the hearing was finished and escorted to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and released due to lack of space.
3/22/18, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. On Thursday, March 22, 2018 at about 12:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to NW Highland for a student in possession of marijuana. Geovanni Vasquez, 18, was cited and released for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. They seized 36.94g of marijuana, a scale, cigars, a grinder and other paraphernalia.
3/22/18, FALSE ALARM RESIDENTIAL. On March 22, 2018 at around 10:20 am, deputies were dispatched to residential alarm on NW Michelle Drive in Corvallis. The arrived and found the home to be secure. The house was unoccupied and they did not find anything suspicious. The alarm company did not have anyone to respond to the house.
3/22/18, BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. On Thursday, March 22, 2018 at approximately 9:00 AM, deputies contacted a citizen at her residence on Ash Street in Monroe, Oregon about her chickens that had been off her property and in a neighbor's garden. The resident said she would try and keep her chickens on her property. She was informed about clipping their wings and that way they could not fly over her fence.
3/22/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On March 22nd, 2018 at 3:40 A.M., deputies responded to a call of a possible prowler on Northwest Hoodview Circle in Corvallis. Deputies did not locate any signs of any suspicious activity on or near the property, or in an unlocked outbuilding/shop. Deputies spoke with the 911 caller who said she heard voices near the front of the house, and that their dog was barking loudly at that same time. They suggested some exterior/motion lighting and other security options to her and her Mother. They then patrolled and illuminated the area all the way to the west end of this street, finding no persons or vehicles in the area.
3/21/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at approximately 9:38 P.M., deputies made contact with GUY LANDERS, 38, on NW Crest Drive. GUY had a confirmed warrant out of Benton County for his arrest. GUY was issued a citation in lieu of a custody. WARRANT INFORMATION: UNLAW POSS CON SUB 1, COUNT 2: UNLAWFUL POSS OF METH.
3/21/18, FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD-FELONY, THEFT 2ND DEGREE, WARRANT ARREST, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF HEROIN, IDENTITY THEFT. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 6:38 PM, deputies saw THYSEN SCARBOROUGH, 26, walk inside convenience store on SW 3rd Street in Corvallis. SCARBOROUGH had multiple warrants which were later confirmed. Deputies contacted and arrested SCARBOROUGH who was in possession of a plastic pen tube with presumptive Heroin residue and a debit card that belonged to a relative which he was not authorized to have. SCARBOROUGH was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked on his warrants. SCARBOROUGH was also charged with Unlawful Possession of Heroin and Identity Theft. Additional charges are pending further investigation. Confirmed warrants included: Benton County Circuit Court, False Info / FTA on Citation / FTA II (X2); Linn County Circuit Court, DCS & PCS Heroin / PCS Methamphetamine; Linn County Parole & Probation, PV PCS Methamphetamine.
3/21/18, BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at approximately 5:20 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of N 9th Street, Monroe for report of a vicious dog at large. Deputies arrived and located a black and white dog in the driveway of the residence. They spoke to the complainant who told them the black and white dog had previously bitten more than one family member and belonged to the residence to the north of her. They then spoke to the dog owner on N 8th Street and advised her to collect her dog and ensure it was not at large in the future.
3/21/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 5:32 PM, deputies saw JOSEPHINE PINEDO, 35, walking on SE Bethel Street near SE Bridgeway Avenue in Corvallis. PINEDO had a confirmed misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. PINEDO was issued a citation with a court date in lieu of custody for the warrant and told her she was free to leave.
3/21/18, BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 deputies were dispatched to an anonymous complaint of dogs barking on SW Brooklane Drive. Deputies arrived and spoke with the resident who has 14 dogs at her residence. The dogs were not barking when deputies arrived at the residence. None of her dogs were licensed with Benton County. She was warned about the dogs not being licensed was told that Animal Control would be contacting her to make sure that she did this and to check the living conditions of the dogs.
3/21/18, UEMV - UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE (X2). On March 21, 2018 at about 2:54 am, deputies were dispatched to Peterson Rd, Philomath, for a report of suspicious activity. A neighbor reported a 5th Wheel Travel Trailer parked at the above residence had all its lights on and the doors wide open. Upon arrival, they determined the Trailer had been broken into and damaged. Dontay Willis, 20, admitted to breaking into the trailer earlier in the day with a minor male. Deputies issued both subjects a citation for UEMV, Criminal Mischief II, and Criminal Trespass II.
3/20/18, CUSTODIAL INTERFERENCE IN THE 1ST DEGREE, MARIJUANA DELIVERY TO PERSON <18 YOA BY PERSON 21 YOA OR OLDER. On March 20, 2018 a Boise Police Officer requested we attempt to locate a minor on Priceview Dr, Monroe, OR. The officer said the minor was listed as a runaway and likely with her father. Deputies located the minor with her father, who was arrested for Custodial interference and Unlawful Delivery of Marijuana to a Person under 21 Years Old. Boise Police Department said they would have additional criminal charges in Idaho for Lucas LLOYD.
3/20/18, ACCIDENT INJURY. Unit one was northbound on Highway 99W, stopped to turn west onto Robison Rd from Highway 99W. Unit 2 was northbound on Highway 99W. Unit 2 said she was talking to her passenger and did not see Unit 1 stopped in time to avoid a collision.
3/20/18, BCSO - DISTURBANCE/SHOTS. On Tuesday March 20, 2018 at about 11:57 am, deputies spoke with a complainant by telephone who reported hearing multiple gun shots, shouting, and yelling on March 9, 2018 around 5:30 pm. This occurred at the property to the north of a property she was house sitting on Kings Valley Highway. The property to the north is reported to be a marijuana grow site. She wanted to relay this information to the Sheriff's Office.
3/20/18, SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE. On Tuesday March 20, 2018 at about 10:50 A.M., deputies were dispatched to NW Highway 99W for a report of a damaged vehicle in the parking lot. Deputies arrived and saw the vehicle with front end damage indicating it was involved in a crash. Based on the damage of the vehicle, the tire marks in the parking lot and on the grass, it appeared the vehicle drove over a curb and through the lawn of the property. The car had front end damage and there was no property damage. Deputies were unable to contact the registered owner.

3/19/18, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On Monday March 19th, 2018 at about 10:50 PM, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road at Chapel Drive for a report of vandalism. After arriving, deputies noticed a street light had been broken out and was no longer working. There were no suspects located in the area upon arrival.
3/19/18, WARRANT ARREST. On 03/19/2018 ANDREWS, Carmel, 36, turned herself in at Benton Co Jail for 3 confirmed warrants.
3/19/18, MAIL THEFT OR RECEIPT OF STOLEN MAIL. On Monday March 19, 2018 at about 3:30 P.M., deputies spoke with a resident regarding theft of his mail. He stated on March 16 he received a package from Amazon containing $35 worth of baby safety gear. He said he confirmed through mail services the package was delivered between March 16 and March 17 and someone took the package from his mail box.
3/20/18, WARRANT ARREST. On 03/19/2018 MATHIS, Dustin, 33, turned himself in at Benton Co jail for a confirmed County Circuit warrant for FTA DUII.
3/18/18, SUSPICIOUS PERSON. On March 18, 2018 at approximately 12:15PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a citizen. He told deputies he had been cutting firewood behind Hull Oakes Lumber Co when he heard a male yelling and cussing in the woods. When he left the area, he saw an UNKNOWN male dressed in camouflage pants and jacket and an orange t-shirt. The UNKNOWN male stared at deputies when he drove past but did not say anything. He said the UNKNOWN male did not appear to be in distress. Deputies checked the area and were unable to locate the UNKNOWN male.
3/17/18, WARRANT ARREST, FAIL TO CARRY/PRESENT ODL, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On March 17th, 2018 deputies arrested JOSEPH GOMEZ, 37, for Failure to carry and present a driver's license, and Unlawful possession of Methamphetamine after a traffic stop on 3rd Street near Avery Avenue. GOMEZ also had a confirmed state-wide felony warrant out of Linn County for Probation violation on an original charge of Possession of Methamphetamine.
3/16/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On March 16, 2018 at around 8:20 am, deputies were dispatched to Luckiamute Road near milepost 4 for log truck that had gone off the road. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the driver, who was driving south on Luckiamute Road, hauling a load of logs. He came around a corner and the rear trailer wheels went into the soft gravel shoulder and pulled the entire truck off the road and into the ditch. There was no damage to the truck or trailer however the logs needed to be unloaded so the truck could be pulled out of the ditch by a company vehicle. Deputies assisted with traffic control until the roadway was clear.
3/15/18, ASSISTANCE RENDERED PUBLIC. On Thursday, March 15, 2018 at about 3:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to a lost person on BLM Road 10 somewhere north of Highway 34. A man was located, wet, but in good health. He said he had accidentally backed his truck's rear tires into Klickitat Lake Monday morning and stayed with the truck until today. He started walking out when an older male stopped and said he was trespassing and could be arrested, but wouldn't give him a ride out. Deputies gave him a ride home.
3/15/18, ASSAULT 4TH DEGREE. On Thursday, March 15, 2018 at about 2:00 p.m., deputies responded to Highway 99W. Joshua Nathaniel Gaffney, 47, was arrested for Assault IV (x2). He was transported to the jail where he was booked and lodged.
3/14/18, BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE, THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at approximately 4:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to NW Springhill Drive for report of a possible Burglary in progress. The resident reported arriving home and finding her front door had been forced open. The only items she could see were missing was a small amount of costume jewelry and some sentimental jewelry items belonging to family members.
3/5/18, DUII, RECKLESS DRIVING. ON Match 5, 2018 at approximately 7:00PM, deputies stopped David TRACY, 29, for Failure to Maintain Lane, Violation of the Basic Rule (65mph in a 45), and suspicion of DUII. TRACY spoke with a thick slur. TRACY had bloodshot eyes and deputies could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage. TRACY denied drinking and consented to field sobriety tests. David TRACY was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving.
4/4/18, FRAUDULENT USE OF A CREDIT CARD-MISDEMEANOR. On April 4, 2018 at about 1:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a complainant regarding a fraudulent charge on her Chase Bank credit card. She received a call from Response One Medical Alert trying to sell medical alert equipment with a monthly subscription. She said she gave the person her credit card information and never received the product. She said she realized later it was a scam. She said she couldn't find anything out about the company online. She notified her bank about the charges.
4/4/18, BCSO - ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT. April 4, 2018 deputies sent a letter to a llama owner residing on S 3rd Street in Alsea regarding their llama reaching over the fence into the neighbor's yard and creating an issue.
4/4/18, ATTEMPTED ASSAULT OF A PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER. On Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at about 11:40 pm, Deputies arrived at the Benton County Jail after being dispatched to assist jail deputies with a cell extraction. Upon arrival, Shawn Sherer, 36, was in a restraint chair and jail deputies informed them that Shawn had attempted to assault both of them during the process of placing him in the chair. Sherer was later issued a criminal citation for two counts of Attempted Assault on a Public Safety Officer.
4/3/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at about 10:15 pm, I spoke with Luke Jans, 34, on N 9th Street near Main Street in Philomath. Luke had a confirmed cite and release warrant from Albany Municipal Court for Forgery II. Luke was issued a citation with a new court date and time and was released.
4/3/18, UEMV - UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE, THEFT 2ND DEGREE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. On April 3, 2018, deputies spoke with a citizen regarding a theft from his vehicle at the EE Wilson Wildlife area Angler Pond parking lot. He stated he arrived around 9:30 am to fish at the pond and returned to his vehicle around 1 pm. An unknown suspect broke out a small window on his vehicle and stole a tool bag, backpack, and possibly some boots. Estimated value of items and damage to window at $400.
4/2/18, UEMV - UNAUTHORIZED ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE, THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Monday April 2, 2018 at about 12:40 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Dragon Dr. in Monroe for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The complainant stated at about 11:30 A.M., she went out to her vehicle, which was located in the parking lot of the Monroe Elementary School, and observed the trunk to her vehicle open. She stated that purse was missing from the vehicle which contained her wallet, credit cards and other miscellaneous items. There were no signs of forced entry to the vehicle and the complainant said she had the only known key for the vehicle.
4/2/18, UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. On Monday, April 2, 2018, at about 3:10 am, Deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W near mile post 88 for a single vehicle crash. Upon arrival they spoke with the driver, Chadd Nickle, 29, who stated he swerved to miss a deer. Nickle was later arrested for Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Nickle was cited and released.
4/1/18, BCSO - DISTURBANCE/MUSIC/NOISE. On Sunday, April 1, 2018 deputies responded to NE Laurel Drive for a report of loud music. Deputies spoke to the residents and informed them to turn their tv down. They complied.
4/1/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Sunday April 1, 2018 at about 3:30 P.M., deputies spoke with a complaint by telephone regarding her dog. She stated a suspect fed her dog raw salmon on March 27. She said she was worried her dog was going to die due to the consumption of raw salmon. She said she was taking the dog to the veterinarian for treatment.
4/1/18, ABANDONED VEHICLE. On April 1, 2018 at around 10:24 A.M., deputies were dispatched to a reported abandoned vehicle on NE Pettibone Drive near mile post #1. The vehicle was left on the side of the road since March 31, 2018 at around 5:00 P.M. The vehicle was tagged as abandoned. Deputies were later notified the vehicle had been driven away.
4/1/18, THEFT 3RD DEGREE, MAIL THEFT OR RECEIPT OF STOLEN MAIL. On Sunday April 1, 2018 at about 8:40 A.M., deputies spoke with a resident by telephone regarding a mail theft. He was supposed to receive two R.E.I. credit cards and a card containing $10 by mail around March 20. He notified the credit card company of the theft. As of March 31, he has not received either pieces of mail.
4/1/18, BCSO - ANIMAL OTHER. On April 1, 2018 at around 10:00 A.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a resident by telephone regarding nuisance peacocks coming onto her property. She stated over the past three days a pair of peacocks have been coming onto her property on Alpine Road, and waking her up. She does not know who they belong too. She was told call back when they are on the property and our Animal Control Deputy would assist.
 
3/18/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Sunday, March 18, 2018 at approximately 9:11 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Country Club Drive and Philomath Boulevard for a vehicle in the ditch. Unit 1 misjudged the turn from Philomath Boulevard onto Country Club Drive and drove into a small culvert. There was no damage to his vehicle.
3/19/18, BCSO - TRAFFIC /HAZARD. On Monday, March 19, 2018, at about 11:45 am, deputies were dispatched to Alder Avenue for a report of an abandoned travel trailer. Deputies arrived and spoke with the resident who stated the trailer belonged to his father and was not abandoned. The trailer was not a road hazard.
3/19/18, THEFT 2ND DEGREE. On Monday, March 19, 2018, at about 12:05 pm, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident by phone regarding two stolen car batteries.  The man stated two car batteries were taken from the tongue of his travel trailer parked at his residence within the past 7 days. He stated he was not concerned about the batteries but wanted to advise law enforcement of the issue.
3/17/18, THROWING AWAY LIGHTED MATCHES AND OTHER MATERIALS. On Saturday, March 17th 2018 around 7:35 P.M., deputies observed the driver of a vehicle throw a burning cigarette out of his window on Philomath Blvd Near 35th Street. The driver was stopped the on SW Brooklane Drive. CALVIN GORDING, 26, was cited and released for Throwing Away Lighted Material.
3/19/18, FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES-INJURY. On Monday, March 19, 2018 at about 6:22 P.M., a cyclist was riding his bicycle west on Decker Road near Ervin Road. A white pickup with a flatbed and wood sides was driving west as well. The pickup drifted over, colliding with the cyclist, causing him to lose control of his bike and crash. The cyclist sustained numerous injuries, cuts, road rash and bruises. His bike and helmet were also badly damaged.
3/19/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Monday, March 19, 2018 at about 8:50 P.M., deputies spoke to a man by phone. He stated another man crashed into his vehicle which was parked in a parking lot at 4900 NW Highway 99. The caller wanted to ensure he had the correct information from the other man and wanted the report documented for insurance purposes and was not sure of the total dollar amount of the damage.
3/19/18, MAIL THEFT OR RECEIPT OF STOLEN MAIL. On Monday, March 19, 2018 at approximately 6:23 P.M., deputies were dispatched to contact a citizen regarding an attempted mail theft at her residence, located on Bellfountain Road. Deputies located the suspect and after an interview, found he was having car trouble in the area and had pulled over near the mailbox to let his vehicle cool down.
3/19/18, BCSO - DISTURBANCE/ARGUE. On Monday, March 19, 2018 at about 5:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to NW 4th Street for an argument on the south courthouse lawn. Deputies arrived and spoke to a man who stated he was watching a court trial and afterwards a number of men from the trial approached him outside and began to hassle him. Both parties left the scene without further incident.
3/19/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Monday March 19, 2018 at about 2:16 pm, deputies arrived at the Benton County Jail. Jason Anderson, 32, had previously arrived at the Jail to turn himself in concerning an Albany Municipal Court confirmed warrant for FTA Larceny-Theft III. Albany had requested to meet half way. Jason Anderson was arrested without incident and transported.
3/18/18, ACCIDENT INJURY. At around 6:12PM, deputies arrived at a traffic crash at Philomath Blvd and 53rd. Unit 1 started he was making a left turn out of the Safeway parking lot onto Philomath Blvd Westbound, and through his path was clear.
3/18/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Sunday, March 18, 2018 at approximately 4:14 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the area of NE Highway 20 and NE Merloy Avenue for report of a blocking, non-injury crash. Unit 1 was eastbound on Highway 20, when she failed to see Unit 2 in front of her, slowing for traffic ahead. Unit 1 crashed into Unit 2.
3/18/18, BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE, CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 2ND DEGREE. At around 12:44PM on March 18th, 2018, deputies were dispatched to a Burglary on NW Springhill RD in Albany. Deputies arrived and spoke with the residents, who stated someone had broken into the house via the back door. Electronics and currency were stolen.
3/18/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On Sunday March 18, 2018 at about 8:12 am, deputies arrived on Highway 99W south of Dike Road for a reported single vehicle rollover crash. It was later determined that Unit 1 was northbound on Highway 99 when his cat got up on his lap area. The driver moved the cat off of him and then lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle spun and came to a stop, facing south on the east side of Highway 99. The vehicle partially rolled over to the driver side. No injuries were reported.
3/18/18, DUII. On Sunday, March 18, 2018, at about 3:52 am, Dispatch broadcasted an attempt to locate a specific vehicle driving on the Waterfront sidewalk. At about 3:55 am, deputies located the vehicle on the sidewalk near 1st Street and Jackson Avenue. Deputies later arrested the driver, Kathy Dunworth, 61, for DUII after it was determined she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Kathy was booked and later released from the jail.
3/17/18, CURFEW. On March 18, 2018, at 2:34 am, deputies contacted a 14-year-old on NW Scenic Drive near NW Wildwood Drive in Albany. The child was transported to his home in Corvallis and released to his mother.
3/17/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Saturday, March 17, 2018 at about 11:00 P.M., deputies arrested Amber Jo Pitts, 30, for multiple confirmed warrants. While transporting Pitts to the Linn County Jail, deputies were diverted to the Benton County Jail.
3/17/18, DUII, DWS MISDEMEANOR. On March 17, 2018 at around 1:57 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle for failure to use turn signal at 3rd Street/ SE Chapman Street. Julia Marissa Clark, 29, was later arrested for DUII Alcohol and DWS Misdemeanor.
3/17/18, SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE. On Saturday March 17, 2018 at about 1:10 P.M., deputies were dispatched to Blodgett Rd for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Dispatch advised there was a white pickup parked east of the property facing the incorrect direction of travel partially blocking the road. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and he stated he was walking around the property due to his interest in purchasing it.
3/17/18, UNLAWFUL USE OF WEAPON, MENACING, DISORDERLY CONDUCT II. On Saturday, March 17, 2018 at about 5:30 am, deputies arrived at S 1st Street in Alsea. Dispatch reported there was a male outside this residence with a chainsaw threatening to kill the resident. Deputies spoke with Michael Lauer, 35, who admitted to threatening to kill the resident with a chainsaw. Deputies transported Michael to the Benton County Jail for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct II.
3/16/18, WARRANT ARREST, DWS MISDEMEANOR. On Friday, March 16, 2018 at about 11:00 P.M., deputies stopped a vehicle for not having a license plate light. The driver, Joseph Gregori, 30, was suspended misdemeanor and had a confirmed warrant out Benton County for FTA - DUII. Gregori was arrested and transported, along with his dog, to the Benton County Jail. Gregori was booked and released, picking up his dog on the way out.
3/16/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Friday, March 16, 2018, deputies spoke with GARBIEL RAMOS on Noon Road near Highway 20. RAMOS had a confirmed no bail Felony Abscond Warrant out the Benton County Circuit Court. Ramos was arrested and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
3/16/18, ASSAULT 4TH DEGREE. On Friday, March 16, 2018 at about 4:30 P.M. deputies arrested Inmate Allen Lee Nolan, 21. Nolan allegedly punched another inmate in the mouth after a verbal altercation. The assault occurred the night before on Thursday, March 15 around 10 P.M. Nolan was cited and released with a court date while he remained in the jail for other charges.
3/16/18, ABANDONED VEHICLE. On Friday, March 16, 2018 at about 10:50 A.M., deputies were dispatched to an abandoned vehicle on Dawson Road near milepost 1 and was tagged for a tow.
3/15/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, March 15, 2018 at about 10:00 A.M., deputies located Guy Landers, 38, hiding behind his house on NW Crest Drive. Landers was arrested on a confirmed Lane County Circuit Court for FTC – DUII. Landers was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
3/15/18, ACCIDENT NON-INJURY. On March 15, 2018 at around 7:06 am, deputies were dispatched to a rollover crash on Llewellyn Road near Highway 99W. A vehicle was found rolled over in a field on the north side of the road. The owner was later located at work without injuries.
3/13/18, ACCIDENT INJURY. On Tuesday March 13, 2018 at about 8:17 am, deputies arrived at Highway 20 near NE Asbahr for a reported injury accident. It was later determined that Unit 1 rear ended a stopped car, which then struck the vehicle in front of it.
3/13/18, SUSPICIOUS PERSON. On Tuesday March 13, 2018 at about 12:46, deputies arrived at the Greenberry Store for a report of a woman lying on the ground next to a vehicle. Deputies spoke with the woman who reported she had a medical condition.
3/13/18, WARRANT ARREST. ON 3/13/2018 AT APPROX 1030 JOHN CALDWELL, 24, REPORTED INTO THE LOBBY OF THE BCJ AND WAS ARRESTED ON CONFIRMED WARRANTS FOR: FELON POSS OF REST WEAPON, INTER W/ PO X 4, RESIST ARREST, AND CARRYING A CON WEAPON.
3/13/18, WARRANT ARREST. ON 3/13/2018 CHRIS KOSACK, 42, REPORTED INTO THE LOBBY OF THE BCJ AND WAS ARRESTED ON 3 CONFIRMED WARRANTS: UNLAW ENT MV, THEFT III, FTA CIT; PCS METH, ATT TO COMM MIS, FTA 1; AND PCS METH.
3/13/18, BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE, THEFT 1ST DEGREE. On Tuesday March 13, 2018 at about 10:35am, deputies spoke with a complainant by phone, who reported that between March 1, 2018 to March 9, 2018 unknown suspect(s) entered a shop building on Salmonberry Road and took power tools, hand tools, and gasoline.
3/11/18, CRIMINAL TRESPASS - 2ND DEGREE. On March 11, 2018 at around 1:21 P.M., deputies were dispatched to N 8th Street, Monroe, for a reported trespass. The resident found a man sitting on his back porch. The resident told him to leave, which he did. Deputies searched the area and were unable to locate the man.
3/15/18, WARRANT ARREST. On March 15, 2018 at about 11:26 pm, deputies were dispatched to Pettibone near Meyer's Ln for a report of a car broken down in the middle of the roadway. Kristina Boswell, 32, was attempting to turn around when her vehicle died. Boswell had a confirmed Lebanon Justice Warrant for Contempt on an FTA. Boswell was issued a citation in lieu of arrest with a court date.
3/15/18, WARRANT ARREST. On Thursday, March 15, 2018, around 9:30 P.M., Deputies arrived at Commercial Street in Monroe for a medical emergency. Upon arrival, Robert Fisher, 59, was located and arrested on a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for DWS and an Albany Municipal Court warrant for FTA-Disorderly Conduct. Fisher was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
3/15/18, BURGLARY 1ST DEGREE. On Thursday, March 15, 2018, deputies were dispatched to NE Highway 20 for a burglary. Deputies spoke with the resident who said an unknown person broke into his home stealing $400, a tea pot, and a key fob to his 2016 Honda Civic. It appears the suspect entered through an unlocked window and left through the front door.
3/15/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Thursday, March 15, 2018, deputies were dispatched to Coon Road for a report of a bullet found in the siding of the house. The resident showed deputies a bullet lodged in her home near the backdoor of the residence. She said she believes this occurred sometime in the last week but wasn't certain. The bullet appeared to be a .223 caliber and came from a North Eastern direction. Deputies explained based on their training and experience the bullet would have come from a long distance, as the bullet did not penetrate the siding completely. She said she doesn't hear shooting around her home often and wanted the incident documented.
3/15/18, WARRANT ARREST. ON 3/15/18 AT APPROXIMATELY 1640 ALVAREZ, VALENTIN, 19, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET FOR A CONFIRMED WARRANT FOR DUII. ALVAREZ WAS GIVEN A COURT DATE AND TIME AND WAS RELEASED.
3/12/18, WARRANT ARREST. HERNANDEZ-MENDOZA, RICARDO, 24, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET FOR A CONFIRMED LINCOLN COUNTY WARRANT FOR FTA DWS. HERNANDEZ WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
3/14/18, SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY. On Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at about 1:30 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the Adair Market for suspicious activity. The store clerk stated four men came into the store with bandanas on. Price said they didn't do anything wrong he just wanted to report it in case there was a problem. They then spoke with city admin who said there were some Native Americans, meeting at the ODFW Building, to protest about wolves. ODFW staff said there were no issues. No crimes committed.
