Listed below are recent incidents responded to by the Benton County Sheriff's Office. This report does not reflect all Sheriff's Office activities and is updated as time and personnel allows.

SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On August 15, 2021 at about 6:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of 240 E Main St. in Alsea for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies recognized the vehicle from previous contacts and located it later in the evening off Highway 501 near milepost #5. The driver was warned about Trespassing.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On September 12, 2021, at 10:07 AM, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road near Chapel Drive in Philomath for a non-injury traffic crash. The driver was traveling eastbound on Chapel Drive when she failed to stop for the intersection of Bellfountain Road. She crashed into a ditch and rolled her vehicle. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On September 12, 2021, around 4:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the Finley Wildlife Refuge on Bruce Road for a reported car break-in. The victim reported her front passenger’s side window had been smashed in, and her belongings had been searched through. Nothing was reported stolen.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 – On September 12, 2021, around 6:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to the Finley Wildlife Refuge on Bruce Road for a reported car break-in. The caller reported her front driver’s side window and back window had been smashed in, and her belongings had be searched through. She said a blue Acura hatch back was parked in the parking lot when she arrived, and thought this vehicle was associated with the break in. No identified suspects at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, September 10, 2021 at approximately 1:33 PM, a driver was southbound on Independence Highway in his black Honda Civic sedan. He signaled to turn left (eastbound) onto Palestine Avenue, while slowing nearly to a stop. His vehicle was struck from behind by a white Toyota Camry sedan after the driver crested a hill and could not avoid the Civic in time. The Camry was towed due to damage. There were no injuries reported.
POSS METH (LESS THAN 2 GRAMS) - On September 11, 2021 at around 1:54 AM, deputies stopped a white Honda a SE Chapman Place and 3rd Street. During their contact they learned the driver did not have insurance and did not have driving privileges in Oregon. They also located two methamphetamine pipes inside the driver’s vehicle. The driver was issued citations for the following: driving uninsured, possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine, and no valid operator`s license.
DUII - On September 9, 2021, at 4:25 PM, deputies were dispatched to Fern Road near Evergreen Road in Philomath for a vehicle stuck in the ditch. They later arrested Douglas Scott Buterbaugh, 57, for DUII, after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at about 8:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of NW Highland Drive and NW Crescent Valley Drive for a motor vehicle crash. Unit one was headed south on Highland Drive, when unit two attempted to make a left turn onto Crescent Valley Drive. Unit one was unable to avoid colliding with Unit two. Unit two was headed north on Highland Drive. Unit two attempted to make a left turn onto Crescent Valley and did not see Unit one, heading south on Highland, prior to the collision.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On September 9, 2021, deputies responded to a two-vehicle, non-injury traffic crash at the roundabout on 53rd at West Hills Road. The drivers exchanged information and declined any medical attention from EMTs.
IDENTITY THEFT; FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED WEAPON; POSS BURGLARS TOOLS; WARRANT ARREST - On Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 5:27 PM, deputies stopped a black Toyota Camry sedan for a traffic violation on Highway 20 near Springhill Drive. The driver, TEDDY JOHNSTON, 34, was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. JOHNSTON, a convicted felon, was also in possession of a restricted knife, credit/debit cards and a check belonging to other individuals, as well as a stolen catalytic converter and burglary tools. JOHNSTON was cited for his warrant as well as for the crimes of Felon in Possession of a Restricted Weapon, Identity Theft (x5), and Possession of Burglary Tools. JOHNSTON was also cited for Driving while Suspended (Violation).
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, September 12, 2021 at about 7:05 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of Commercial St in Monroe for a report of a disturbance. They arrived within five minutes of the call, walked up to the front door, found it open, and two adults playing with a small child. There was no indication of any type of crime and the TV was very loud which might have been the source for the call. DONALD ROBERT ADAMS III, 41, told deputies he was playing with his son and there was no yelling involved. Dispatch advised ADAMS had a Warrant out of Linn County Justice Court for Probation Violation - F.T.A. II. ADAMS was issued a citation in the field and released.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE - On September 12, 2021, at 1:50 PM, deputies spoked to a female by phone who works at the Bus Depot located at 24515 Highway 20 in Philomath. She said the owner of the property has a travel trailer parked in the lot, which was broken into at some point. It was unknown what was taken and no one has been able to contact the owner. Deputies provided the caller with a case number and asked her to have the owner contact BCSO.
THEFT 3; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On September 12, 2021, at around 10:50 am, deputies were dispatched to the 6900 block of NW Highway 20 for a report of criminal mischief. They spoke with a male, who reported that the previous night someone had attempted to steal an exterior cash box and break into their store. The cash box and a door were damaged. No current suspects.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On September 12, at 8:14 AM, deputies spoke with a resident in the 100 block of S 2nd Street in Alsea. He told deputies a female was taking his walker and returning afterwards, without his permission. Deputies were unable to locate the female and advised the resident to keep his walker inside to solve the issue.
LITTERING - On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:12 PM, a resident reported someone has been dumping trash on property he recently purchased in the 400 block of NW Lewisburg Avenue over the past month. There are no suspects; he will be putting up surveillance cameras.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 11:15 AM, deputies stopped a red Dodge Charger sedan for a traffic violation on Corvallis Road near Prather Road. The driver and sole occupant, LAURA RUHL, 26, was cited and released on a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant which she had for her arrest.
MENACING - On September 10, 2021, at 9:05 AM, deputies spoke to a man regarding a Menacing complaint. He told deputies he was a Notary and attempting to serve a paper in the 1300 block of Commercial Street in Monroe, on September 9, 2021, at around dusk. He said he was confronted by a male holding a pistol near the closed driveway gate, who told him he was trespassing and to leave. He said the male did not point the gun at him, or threaten him specifically in anyway. He told deputies he left without further incident. Deputies advised the man no crime occurred.
WARRANT ARREST - On September 10, 2021 at around 1:23 AM, deputies stopped a red Subaru legacy near SW 53rd Street and SW Reservoir Ave. The driver was suspended violation and deputies identified one of her passengers as Matthew L`Esperance, 43. L`esperance had two active warrants for his arrest. He was subsequently taken into custody and later issued criminal citations on his warrants. The driver was issued a traffic citation for ORS.811.175, driving while suspended.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at about 8:05 pm, deputies were dispatched to Pettibone Drive near mile post 2 for a motorcycle crash. They arrived and observed a male lying on the ground face down next to his 2001 Mobi Motorcycle. A female who was following him stated he hit a deer and crashed. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at about 2:50 pm, deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident on the phone regarding a fraud. She was informed by her bank an unknown person attempted to cash a check from her account in a Spokane Washington US Bank. The attempt was not successful and she needed a local agency case number for her bank to help process the event. Deputies provided her with that case number.
WARRANT ARREST - On September 9, 2021, at 10:00 AM, deputies stopped a driver on Alpine Road near Nichols Road in Monroe for no front license plate. The driver initially attempted to ditch deputies by pulling into a driveway for a residence he did not belong at. He was issued a citation for No Front Plate, Driving while Suspended Violation, Driving Uninsured, and Failure to Use an Ignition Interlock Device. The front seat passenger, Ariel Jantze, 24 had a confirmed Felony Parole Board Warrant for her arrest. Jantze was transported to the Lane County Jail and lodged on the warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On September 9, 2021, a driver was stopped in traffic with her family on NW Highland Drive waiting for the light at NW Walnut Blvd. She was rear-ended by a juvenile driver. The juvenile driver continued to the Shell gas station on NW 9th St. where information was exchanged.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On 09/06/2021 at approximately 11:01 pm, deputies contacted a male in the Philomath laundromat. He was warned for criminal trespass and left the business.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, September 6, 2021 at 11:33 AM, deputies arrested MEGAN STRIPLIN, 26, on a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant after deputies observed her enter a business in the 1800 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. STRIPLIN was cited in lieu of custody for her warrant. STRIPLIN was also cited by a CPD Officer for pre-existing probable cause in regards to an unrelated incident.
DUII - On August 28, 2021, around 8:44 PM, deputies located an Attempt to Locate a vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 99 near Mountain View Drive. Deputies arrested Chris Daniel Foss, 42, for DUII. Foss provided a breath sample, was cited, and released.
THEFT 2 FROM BUILDING; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On September 7, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 26500 block of Highway 99W for a reported burglary. The resident reported someone entered one of his commercial barns on Sunday night (09/05/2021) and stole approximately $300 worth of fiberglass roofing panels. He also reported one of his commercial tenants found a plastic bag containing numerous credit cards and IDs nearby on the same night. The IDs and credit cards were found to belong to a Roseburg woman, who had had her wallet stolen from her vehicle in Junction City on the night of the burglary (09/05/2021). No current suspects at this time.
FAIL TO REGISTER SEX OFFENDER; WARRANT ARREST - On September 7, 2021, at around 11:35 am, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a white 1992 Chevrolet van on Bellfountain Road, near Milepost 3. They later issued the driver, John Bird, 58, a criminal citation for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Theft 3 and a criminal citation for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On 09/07/2021 at approximately 12:46 am, deputies contacted two adult females and three juveniles in a van on Goracke Road. The family is between housing and was looking for somewhere to pitch a tent. Deputies provided the mother with resource materials for Benton County shelters and other services. The female was warned about trespassing in Benton County parks after hours.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Wednesday, September 1, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a criminal mischief in the 18100 block of Highway 34, near Alsea. They called and spoke to a resident who stated a section of his fence had been damaged. He said the cost to replace the fence, posts, and T-posts would be about $500.00 dollars. He did clarify the damage could be 1 to 2 months old, but he is unsure.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Thursday, August 26, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 26900 block of Dawson Road for a trespass complaint. Deputies called and spoke to a resident who stated he had a male stop by his house and ask about a car battery. He requested more patrols in the area and to document the incident. He stated the male left when asked and nothing was taken.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, September 6, 2021 at about 11:10 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Hickory Ave. near Springhill Drive for a traffic violation.  Dispatch advised the driver, JIMMIE STEPHEN REED, 47, of Toledo, had an outstanding Warrant out of Lebanon Municipal Court.  REED was issued a citation and he was cited and released in the field.
FAIL TO APPEAR ON CRIMINAL CITATION - On Monday, September 6, 2021, around 1:00 A.M., Malik Crowell, 19, was arrested at Coon Road near Cherry Creek Road for a Benton County Circuit Court warrant for FTA-Assault III. Crowell was booked and lodged at the Benton County Jail.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On 9/5/2021 at around 11:00 PM, a female was house sitting in the 7200 block of NE Avalon Dr. She said she heard a noise downstairs and call 9-1-1 because she was the only one at the residence. Deputies arrived and saw 3 vehicles inside the automatic gates at the residence. Deputies walked up near the front door and there were multiple dogs inside the gated area that were barking. A male was taking a shower inside and he heard the dogs barking. The male told deputies his parents owned the residence and they were away in Europe. Deputies explained to him there was a house sitter upstairs and he told me he was aware his parents had hired one, but forgot she was there. The house sitter came downstairs and spoke to deputies and the son.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday September 5, 2021 at about 9:50 PM, deputies contacted TATUM JANE LECLERE, 34, of Junction City, on Territorial Hwy/MP 4, Monroe. Dispatch advised LECLERE had an outstanding Oregon State Parole Board Warrant for a Parole Violation. Deputies transported her to the Lane County Jail where she was lodged.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On September 6, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 7400 block of NE Pettibone Dr, for a reported trespass. The property owner reported seeing on surveillance camera an unknown man and dark 1998 Subaru Legacy station-wagon on a property she is currently renting. Deputies were unable to contact the renter by phone, or make contact with anyone at the residence. Deputies informed the owner that the current resident is still allowed to have visitors.
WARRANT ARREST; DOG BCSO ANIMAL/DOG COMPLAINT - On Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1:35 PM, a man called to request a welfare check on a dog located in the 23800 block of Maxfield Creek Road. Deputies located the dog and its owner, JIMMIE BARTON, 48, who had multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest. During their contact with BARTON he had a medical event, collapsing and becoming unresponsive to verbal commands. BARTON was transported to the hospital by medics.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 1:44 PM, deputies stopped a red Chevy Suburban SUV for multiple traffic violations near 2nd Avenue SW & Ellsworth Street in Albany. The driver, KARI SHAW, 34, had a confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. SHAW was issued a criminal citation with a court date in lieu of custody for her warrant.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On September 5, 2021, at around 1:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to a traffic complaint near Highway 20 and NW Scenic Drive. The caller requested a phone call from a deputy. She told deputies she was cut off by a recklessly driven truck. Later, deputies met with the truck driver, who said he did not see the vehicle in his blind-spot, as he merged. He was warned about aggressive driving.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On September 5, 2021, at 11:15 PM, Weyerhaeuser reported illegal campers on Tobe Creek Road near the Quarry in Alsea. Deputies responded and contacted two men and educated them on where they could and could not camp. Deputies escorted the two off Weyerhaeuser property.
THEFT 1 DECEPTION; COMPUTER CRIME - On Sunday, September 5, 2021 at 10:15 AM, a resident of the 5000 block of NE Elliott Circle in Corvallis reported someone had apparently stolen money from his checking account. He was the victim of a phone scam where a foreign male posed as someone with the "AMAZON SECURITY DEPARTMENT" and requested he send him money via gift cards. The male was able to obtain $2,000 to $3,000 in funds via the gift cards and $5,000 from the resident’s checking account after he gained control of his computer by possibly using malicious software.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On September 5, 2021, at 6:23 AM, a driver was traveling southbound on SW 53rd near milepost 2 in Corvallis. For an unknown reason, he left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail on the west shoulder of the roadway. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries by Corvallis Fire Department. His vehicle was towed due to damage.
WARRANT ARREST - On September 5, 2021 at around 1:36 AM, deputies contacted a woman sitting in a disabled vehicle near NE HWY 20 and Independence HWY. The woman, identified as Darcy Davidson, 29, of Jefferson, had a misdemeanor cite and release warrant for FTA Assault out of Josephine County Circuit Court. She was issued a citation in lieu of custody.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER; WARRANT ARREST - On September 4, 2021, deputies were driving northbound on 3rd Street in Corvallis and observed a male with no pants and exposed genitals standing on the sidewalk. Deputies contacted the male who gave deputies several fake names, but was identified as Mark Beers, 63. Beers had a misdemeanor warrant for PCS Meth and was transported to Linn County Jail and was additionally cited for providing false info to a peace officer.
DWS MIS - On Saturday, September 4, 2021, at about 9:2 0pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop near 4th Street and Washington Ave, Corvallis. The driver, Adrian Gomez Rosales, 46, had revoked misdemeanor driving privileges. Gomez Rosales was cited and released on scene.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On September 4, 2021, around 7:20PM, deputies were dispatched to Highway 20, near milepost eight, for a single vehicle crash. They arrived a saw a vehicle, bearing a Montana plate, was backed into a ditch. The driver said she was negotiating a U-turn when she reversed too far, backing into the ditch in a culvert. Deputies advised her to fill out a DMV crash form and gave a case number. A tow company pulled the vehicle out of the ditch.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 9/4/2021 at around 7:00 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on Greenberry Road approaching the T-intersection with Bellfountain Road. The driver did not see the stop sign at the intersection due to the sun in her eyes at that time of the evening. Vehicle #1 went into the ditch area on the Westside of Bellfountain Road. A tow company arrived and towed the vehicle due to the damage from the crash.
PROBATION VIOLATION; SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On September 4, 2021 at approximately 6:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Palestine Ave and Oak Grove Dr. for suspicious persons. Dispatch said there were two males who "didn`t fit the area". Deputies Michael BOWEN, 22, and another male at the Palestine Cemetery. They said they were walking to Dallas from Albany. Dispatch reported Michael BOWEN had a confirmed Brownsville Municipal Court Warrant for Probation Violation-Contempt of Court. Deputies arrested BOWEN on the warrant. BOWEN was issued a criminal citation en lieu of custody. Lt. BOTTORFF gave BOWEN and John LYON a courtesy ride to Monmouth.
COERCION; MENACING - On September 3, 2021 at approximately 10:40 PM, Deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of Linnview Ln, Albany, for a report of a domestic disturbance. Brandon BECKNER, 35, was acting aggressive and confrontational towards two residents. On multiple occasions, Brandon BECKNER stood in front of and blocked both from being able to leave their bedroom and later blocked them in the kitchen area. Deputies arrested Brandon BECKNER for Coercion, Menacing and a probation violation. Deputies transported Brandon BECKNER to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 9/3/2021 at around 7:15 PM, Vehicle #1, was traveling eastbound on Alpine Road near MP7, just past Nichols Road. The driver stated another vehicle attempted to run her off the roadway, coming the opposite direction. She drove off the roadway into the ditch, rolling the vehicle. She was unable to give deputies a description of the other vehicle. A tow company arrived and towed her vehicle from the scene due to the damage from the crash. The driver was given a ride into Monroe to get a ride from a friend.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On September 3, 2021, at 3:39 PM, deputies responded to the Tree Farm on West Hills Road in Corvallis for a report of a male exiting a vehicle and entering the wooded area with a long rifle. The male was identified, but not at his camp and never located. Deputies spoke to multiple people living inside the Tree Farm. Everyone they spoke to told them he is known to carry a BB gun, but has never been seen with a real gun. The residents were all advised they were trespassing and needed to vacate the property.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, September 3, 2021 at 3:04 PM, deputies contacted and arrested RANDY LINDGREN, 56, of Lebanon, on multiple outstanding warrants in the parking lot of Takena Landing in Albany. LINDGREN was ultimately cited and released on his confirmed warrants at the request of the Linn County Jail.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Friday, September 3, 2021 at 1:03 PM, a resident on the 7600 block of NW McDonald Circle in Corvallis reported by phone that she was the victim of fraud. She is an employee of the Corvallis School District and had her identity used to file an unemployment benefits claim (the claim was denied by her employer). Some of her coworkers had also been the victims of the same fraudulent activity after recently signing up with a new health insurance provider
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On September 3, 2021 at about 5:30 A.M., deputies responded to the area of Bullevard Drive near West Hills Road for a suspicious male. They contacted the male, who stated he got ditched there by a female. Deputies gave him a courtesy transport to a motel in Corvallis where he was staying.
DUII; INTERFERE W/ PEACE OFFICER; PUBLIC INDECENCY MISD EXPOSURE; RESISTING ARREST - On September 2, 2021, at 8:30 AM, deputies contacted Tyler Miers, 40, of Lincoln, NB, at Bellfountain Park in Monroe. Miers was previously reported as an impaired driver on Alpine Road. When deputies contacted Miers, he was masturbating in the front seat of his pickup. There were people walking around on the other side of the park at the time. Miers admitted he was driving on Alpine Road when his vehicle was called in. Deputies conducted an investigation and determined Miers was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely. Miers was taken into custody after he attempted to flee on foot and resist arrest. Miers’ blood and urine were collected with a search warrant. Miers was lodged at the Benton County Jail on the listed charges.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 09/02/21, ADAMS, David, 44, of Junction City, turned himself in at the Benton Co Jail on a Benton Co Circuit Warrant for FTA-DCS Meth. They confirmed the warrant through records and served the warrant on Adams
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Thursday, September 2, 2021 at about 11:00 am, deputies were driving west on Highway 20 near mile post 38. They contacted the driver of a vehicle who had hit a deer in the roadway. The owner already had help coming to assist with the vehicle. The deer was deceased.
DWS MIS - On Wednesday September 1, 2021 at about 7:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on 8th St. at VanBuren Ave. after they recognized the driver to be STEVE MARKS, 51, who they know to be Suspended Misdemeanor. They issued MARKS a citation for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor) and he was cited and released in the field.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT; WARRANT ARREST - On September 1, 2021, at about 11:40 a.m., deputies stopped TYLER DELLINGER, 26, of Coos Bay, on SW Jefferson Avenue near SW 3rd Street in Corvallis for driving without a front license plate and an expired registration sticker on his rear license plate on a red Honda Civic. They arrested DELLINGER for a felony Parole Violation Warrant and Reedsport Municipal Court warrant. Deputies transported DELLINGER to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged on the PV warrant. They cited and released DELLINGER for the misdemeanor warrant and issued him a citation for DWS Violation and Driving Uninsured. DELLINGER`s vehicle was towed.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On August 31, 2021, around 9:45 PM, deputies were was dispatched to the 4700 block of Highway 20, Albany, for a reported suspicious vehicle. The caller reported a vehicle unknown to her had parked a dark colored sedan in her driveway, and left on foot. Robert Dantly McDaniel, 35, was located walking along the railroad tracks near Rondo Street, and was arrested for his nine warrants, and was charged with Trespass 1 and Trespass 2.
THEFT 1 DECEPTION; IDENTITY THEFT - On August 31, 2021, at around 11:30 am, deputies were dispatched to the 7500 block of NW Hoodview Circle for a reported fraud. A male reported he had sent a $2000 check to an unknown person in California after the unknown person overpaid for reserving time slots for clarinet lessons for their Oregon-bound "son". The transaction had been arranged entirely through email, and his check had already been cashed by the time his bank notified him that the original check he received was fraudulent. There are no current suspects.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday August 31, 2021 at about 1:10 AM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Highland Drive near Walnut Blvd for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised both the driver and the passenger had outstanding Warrants. GABRIELLE KAIT BERNHARDT, 25, and SHAWN MICHAEL BURLSON, 28, were arrested on multiple warrants and cited and released in the field.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, August 30, 2021 at 12:29 PM, Driver 1 was northbound on Highway 223 just south of Mahogany Lane in a silver GMC Sierra pickup. They reportedly dropped a drink he was carrying and drifted off the east side of the roadway while going approximately 50 MPH. The pickup went down an embankment without rolling, sustaining damage to the suspension and windows, as well as scratches to the passenger side. The driver was uninjured and called a tow company to remove the vehicle from the ditch
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 4:14 PM, deputies contacted a white Ford Ranger pickup on Highway 34 near Marys Peak Road. They later identified the driver, KASHLEY SCOTT, 36, and passenger, JENNA SMITH, 37, as both having confirmed, outstanding misdemeanor warrants for their arrest. Deputies stopped SCOTT and SMITH near Decker Road, citing and releasing them on their respective warrants. SCOTT was also cited for Driving While Suspended (Violation) and Driving Uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 31, 2021 at about 7:40 PM, deputies were on duty, in uniform, and driving a marked patrol vehicle when they observed what appeared to be a disabled vehicle stuck in the lane of travel at Lakeside Drive and Highway 99W. Deputies stopped and spoke with William McMurray, 22, of Sweet Home. He stated that he had just got the vehicle going again and provided deputies with identification, which deputies promptly returned. As he drove away, dispatch advised that McMurray had a warrant for his arrest. Deputies stopped the vehicle again and arrested McMurray. Deputies issued him a citation for the following warrant: Linn County Circuit Court, PV Harassment.
WARRANT ARREST - ON 8/29/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:51 AM, DEPUTIES WERE ADVISED THAT AN ADULT IN CUSTODY HAD GIVEN A FALSE NAME AT ARREST. AFTER FINGERPRINTING THE SUBJECT, HIS FINGERPRINTS CAME BACK TO VILLA-MUNOZ, FELIPE, 27 OF LAKEWOOD, CO. VILLA- MUNOZ FINGERPRINT COMBINATION CAME BACK WITH A WARRANT OUT OF ANOTHER STATE, NO BAIL. DEPUTIES CONFIRMED THE WARRANT AND SERVED IT ON VILLA-MUNOZ, WHO WAS LOCATED AT THE BENTON COUNTY JAIL 190 NW 4TH ST, IN CORVALLIS.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On August 25, 2021 at about 1:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to Irish Bend Park for a suspicious subject. Farm workers at that location reported seeing a male in a Camouflage SUV watching farmer workers as they worked in the morning and was camping outside the gates of Irish Bend Park. Deputies contacted Marcos Cervantes near the vehicle and he stated he had been there since the previous day, but had not followed anyone. Cervantes indicated he was leaving. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 VANDALISM - On Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:07 PM, deputies were dispatched to 2000 block of NE Highway 20 for suspicious activity. The caller, who leases land at that location for his livestock, discovered someone had shot an arrow through an aluminum farm gate. He did not want any enforcement action taken and was just concerned for the safety of his livestock.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 8/23/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 1810 LEBER, KYLE LOGAN FRANK, 24, TURNED HIMSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET IN CORVALLIS BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE HAD A WARRANT. DEPUTIES RAN LEBER AND IT SHOWED THAT HE HAD A WARRANT OUT OF CORVALLIS MUNI FOR FTA VIOLENT CONDUCT. DEPUTIES CONFIRMED THE WARRANT AND LEBER WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
THEFT 2 DECEPTION - On Thursday, August 19, 2021 at about 7:25 AM, I was dispatched to a theft at 29470 Highway 99W near Corvallis. I called and spoke to Jeremiah Waters who stated he was scammed out of money. Water`s had sent $688.00 dollars by Walmart gift cards to a fake law enforcement officer. No other money was taken and through the investigation, the user of the phone number appeared to be out of South Africa.
DIS MIS - On Wednesday September 1, 2021 at about 7:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on 8th St at Van Buren Ave after they recognized the driver to be STEVE MARKS, 51, who they knew to be Suspended Misdemeanor. Deputies issued MARKS a citation for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor) and he was cited and released in the field.
THEFT 2; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On August 30, 2021, at around 2:26 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 25500 block of Springhill Drive for a reported theft. A resident reported her son`s electric dirt-bike was stolen out of their front yard. She believes the theft occurred on August 29, between 1:00pm and 3:30pm. The black-and-red Burromax TTR350R is valued is $600. No current suspects, although a neighbor reported seeing a strange white 4-door Dodge pickup truck being driven by a white male with blonde hair and a blonde beard.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday August 29, 2021 at about 10:50 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on Philomath Blvd near Technology Loop for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised the driver and the passenger had outstanding warrants. ANGELA ALICE PHILIP, 24, and TAYLOR ALAN MISKIE, 29, both were cited and released in the field on their warrants.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On 8/29/2021 at around 4:40 PM, deputies received a phone call from a resident stating someone was parked in her driveway in the 3400 block of NW Springhill Drive and would not leave when told to. Deputies spoke with the driver by phone and she stated she had an urgent call she needed to take. Deputies explained to her she was on private property and when the landowner asked her to leave, she needed to leave. The resident wanted the driver warned about Criminal Trespassing laws.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 VANDALISM - On August 28, 2021, around 10:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to 2600 Sulphur Springs Road, at the Lewisburg Saddle, for a reported car break in. When they arrived there were multiple vehicles that had been broken into. The second vehicle was a Hyundai Elantra. Thirty dollars in cash and a debit card was taken, with $400 worth of damages done to the driver’s side door lock. A purchase was attempted with the debit card at Wal-Mart.

VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER - On Saturday, August 28, 2021, at about 3:07 pm, deputies were dispatched to an overdose in the 4200 block of NE Highway 20, Corvallis. Christopher Miller, 36, had an apparent overdose from injecting meth and heroin. Miller gained consciousness on scene and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital. Once Miller was released from the hospital, deputies arrested Miller for Violating a Restraining Order, by being at the protected person’s residence and in their presence at the time he overdosed. Miller was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On 08/28/2021 at approximately 12:25 am, deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of south 19th Street in Philomath for a prowler complaint. Upon arrival, deputies checked the area on foot, but were unable to locate anyone in the area.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; UNLAW POSS OF FIREARM; CRIMINAL TRESPASS W/ FIREARM - FEL POSS; KIDNAPPING 2; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE VEHICLE; DWS FEL - On August 26, 2021, at around 11:13 am, deputies were dispatched to the 25800 block of Bellfountain Road for a report of suspicious vehicles. Deputies located one of the vehicles, a red 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, on Highway 99W, near Milepost 95. The Chevrolet eluded them at a high rate of speed, and later crashed in Junction City. The driver, Derrick Freeman, 25, of Lebanon, was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital and issued criminal citations for Driving While Suspended-Felony, Reckless Driving, Eluding, Trespass with a Firearm, Theft 3, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. A passenger, Johnathon Scott, 22, of Veneta, was issued criminal citations for Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle, Criminal Trespass 2, and Theft 3. The Chevrolet was impounded pending a search warrant. The other suspicious vehicle was later located by other deputies.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 27, 2021 at around 10:05 pm, deputies stopped a white van in the 2100 block of Main Street, Philomath. The driver, Paul Aaron Masiko Bonnen, 32, had four cite and release warrants out of Benton County Circuit Court. Paul was issued citations in lieu of custody on his warrants and additionally issued a traffic citation for driving while suspended violation.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 27, 2021 at around 5:42 PM, deputies made a traffic stop on a silver 2000 Honda Accord at Applegate Street and 16th Street after they recognized Shawn Newport, 53, in the passenger seat. Newport had two warrants for his arrest. Newport was cited and released on his warrants.
THEFT 1 AGGRAVATED; IDENTITY THEFT - On Friday, August 27, 2021 at 1:07 PM, a resident of the 2000 block of Calderwood Drive in Philomath reported by phone that he was the victim of identity theft. Someone had filed a claim with the Oregon Unemployment Department on August 15 using his name and social security number in the amount of $19,058. His employer denied the claim and the suspect(s) did not obtain any money. The man was unsure of how his identity could have been compromised.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 27, 2021, at 12:32 AM, an officer from the Toledo Police Department said he stopped a 2008 Silver Kia Spectra with Idaho license plate in Toledo for no license plate light. The officer said he later identified the uncooperative passenger, Vincente Dante, 23. Dante had a confirmed State Wide Felony Warrant out of the Oregon State Parole Board for Probation Violation/ Burglary. Deputies located the Kia and stopped it on Highway 20 near milepost 47 in Philomath. Dante was taken into custody and transported to the Benton County Jail on the warrant.
ELUDE - On Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at about 9:30 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle on the Alsea Access Road near milepost #9 for a traffic violation. The driver, MARTIN EUGENE BLEKA, 57, fled approximately 300 feet and stopped and was arrested for Attempting to Elude. BLEKA was cited and released in the field.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 24, 2021 at about 10:00 AM, deputies responded to the 1000 block of SW Washington St. to assist with an eviction of the tenets at this address. Chaylan Tosta, 39, the sole occupant, was arrested on several warrants and released on citation.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 26, 2021 at around 12:33 AM, deputies contacted a male riding a bike northbound on 3rd Street near Alexander Ave who was identified as Hilario Leal-Hernandez, 51. Hernandez had a cite and release warrant out of Albany. Hernandez was issued a citation for his warrant.
ELUDE VEHICLE - On August 24, 2021 at around 10:53 PM, deputies attempted to stop a dark-colored pickup near NW Springhill Road and NW Buena Vista Road for speeding. The vehicle accelerated to speeds over 100 MPH and attempted to elude deputies. Deputies did not have probable cause to justify pursuing the vehicle and terminated their attempts to stop the vehicle per BCSO Policy 208.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On Monday, August 23, 2021, at about 10:43 am, deputies were dispatched to a theft in the 4900 block of NW Hwy 99W, Corvallis. A man reported a catalytic converter was cut and stolen from a Ford bus, sometime between 7:30pm on August 20, 2021 and 8:00am on August 21, 2021. Sawsall blades were left at the scene. Total value of stolen part is $600.00. No suspect identified at this time.
DUII - On August 22, 2021, at 1:23 AM, deputies stopped Carly Schultz, 22, on 4th Street near Western Boulevard in Corvallis after she was called in by a citizen as an impaired driver. They later arrested Schultz for DUII after determining she was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On August 20, 2021, around 12:30 AM, deputies were on patrol driving through Takena Landing Park when they observed a male on the northeast part of the park, walking a bike towards the roadway near the bridge pillars. The male, later identified as James Andrew Jackman, 37, had a warrant out of Linn County for violating his parole. When deputies told Jackman he was under arrest he fled on his bike and was arrested on August 22, 2021 and transported to the Linn County Jail for Escape 3, Interfering with a Peace Officer, and Trespass 2.
THEFT 3 - On Monday, August 23, 2021 at about 6:30 PM, deputies responded to the Alsea Mercantile for a report of a Theft of ice. Deputies located and arrested RANDY JOSEPH MENDEZ, 40, for Theft III. MENDEZ was cited and released in the field.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 18, 2021, deputies spoke with Dusty Risland, 33, near Walnut Boulevard and Witham Hill. They cited and released Dusty for two warrants, one Benton County Circuit Court and one Albany Municipal Court.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On August 10, 2021 at 10:13 pm, deputies were dispatched to a farm field northwest of Rondo Street of NW Highway 20. A resident called the Sheriff`s Office and said there was a black-colored sedan parked on a dirt road to the farms. Deputies contacted a male in the car who said he was looking for a place to sleep for the night. He was warned he was on private property and not to return.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, July 11, 2021, at about 7:46 am, deputies went out with a vehicle on Highway 99W near Llewellyn Road. They made contact with Jay Marsh, 56, of Lebanon, who was gathering pears from a tree on private property. Marsh had a confirmed warrant from Sweet Home Municipal Court for Contempt of Court. Deputies cited and released Marsh per warrant instructions.
DISTURBANCE VERBAL ONLY - On August 25, 2021 at about 12:19 am, deputies were dispatched to a verbal argument called in by a neighbor in the 200 block of NW 53rd. The residents had gotten into a verbal argument. Neither party wanted to leave for the evening and decided to sleep in separate rooms for the night.
TOW, HAZARD - On August 24, 2021 at around 5:32 pm, deputies responded to Tampico Road near the Polk County line for a 5th Wheel trailer which appeared to be abandoned on the shoulder of the roadway causing a traffic hazard. A tow company responded and removed the vehicle.
BURGLARY 1 - On August 24, 2021, a resident reported a burglary of his residence in the 25300 block of Green Peak Road, Monroe. There was a broken lock on one door and two check books stolen. No known suspects at time of call.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 2:27 PM, deputies stopped ERIN MCCLUNG, 29, as she was riding a bicycle northbound on 9th Street near Buchanan Avenue in Corvallis after Dispatch informed she had multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. MCCLUNG was issued criminal citations with court dates in lieu of custody for her warrants.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 1:31 PM, deputies arrested WEST TRONTVET, 31, on a confirmed felony warrant in the parking lot in the 700 block of NW Kings Boulevard in Corvallis. TRONTVET was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged on his warrant.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at approximately 8:40 A.M., a 2017 Toyota Corolla was west on Highway 34 near Milepost 50. For unknown or unstated reasons the driver struck the embankment on the north side of the road with the rear driver side. This caused the driver to lose control, spinning his vehicle and causing the front end to hit the embankment. The driver was uninjured and his vehicle was towed. Deputies cited the driver for Careless Driving.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On August 23, 2021 at about 1:50 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a man over the phone regarding a traffic complaint at Independence Highway and Camp Adair Rd. He stated he was traveling north on Independence Highway when a semi approached from the west and turned north from Camp Adair onto Independence Highway. He stated that this cut him off as he rode his bicycle. He stated the truck pulled over, cited some expletives, and continued. He had only a trailer plate, which returned to a rental company.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Monday, August 23, 2021 at approximately 1:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the 6700 block of Northwest Metge Avenue for a suspicious person. Deputies were told a female had come through the closed gate and not leaving. Deputies arrived and spoke with a female who told deputies she delivered Christmas lights and now her truck would not start. She called for roadside assistance.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Monday, August 23, 2021 at approximately 11:10 A.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with a resident regarding a fraud complaint. She told deputies she was alerted by her employer that her identity had been used to file for unemployment with the State of Oregon. She had already flagged her credit and had documented this through the identitytheft.gov website. She told deputies she did not have any information of where the funds were supposed to be sent or much else.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On August 23, 2021 at about 10:40 AM, deputies responded to the area of Airport Rd. at milepost 4 for an injury traffic crash. The driver stated he was eastbound on Airport Rd, near milepost 4, when he hit his brakes, but then then went off the road for an unknown reason. The crash started a grass fire, which deputies put out with a fire extinguisher.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On August 23, 2021 at about 5:45 am, deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of N 7th St, Philomath, for a report of a suspicious white truck in the driveway of an abandoned residence. Deputies located a white F150 about a block away and the engine was warm. The owner of the residence provided video from 8/8/21 showing the same truck backing into her driveway. She reported nothing was missing but requested extra patrol of the residence.
POSS STOLEN VEHICLE - On August 23, 2021 at about 12:38 am, deputies ran a license plate displayed on the back of a red 2dr Honda Civic parked at the Chevron gas station in North Albany. The vehicle and license plate returned stolen. Deputies arrested Joseph Rocky Rodriguez, 37, for possession of a stolen vehicle and transported him to the Benton County Jail where he was lodged.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 8/22/2021 at around 10:10 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on Highway 99W approaching Camp Adair Road. A deer ran into the right front fender of the vehicle and went up and over the hood cause damage to the hood, windshield and driver’s door. Vehicle #1 pulled onto Camp Adair Road and called the Sheriff`s Office due to the damage to her vehicle. Bob’s towing arrived around 11:30 PM and towed the vehicle due to the damage. Deputies were unable to locate a carcass of an animal on the roadway.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at approximately 10:55 A.M., deputies spoke with a man who was attempting to file a complaint against Benton County Government and the State of Oregon. He was very angry about mask requirements and believed this was a violation of his rights based on Title 18 USC Section 42, Deprivation of Rights under color of law. Deputies told him they were unable to enforce federal law, which was the same answer he had been given by the Oregon State Police. He was very unhappy with this answer and eventually hung up.
WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, August 22, 2021, at about 9:55 PM, deputies stopped a vehicle at 5th and Commercial in Monroe for a traffic violation. Dispatch advised that the passenger, SHARI LOU TREADWAY, 42, of Junction City, had an outstanding Warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for P.C.S. II (METHAMPHETAMINE). TREADWAY was cited and released in the field.
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE ASSAULT - On Saturday, August 21, 2021, at around 3:06 pm, deputies were dispatched to a disturbance in the 24600 block of Stovall Lane, Philomath. Kyle Linn, 38, was issued a citation in lieu of custody for harassment.
DUII - On August 21, 2021, at 2:11 AM, deputies stopped Felix Pimentel-Rosas, 26, of Newport, on Highway 34 near Texas Street in Linn County for Failure to Drive within Lane. They later arrested Felix for DUII, after determining he was impaired and unable to operate a vehicle safely.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 20, 2021, at 10:47 PM, deputies observed a vehicle parked at after hours at Takena Landing Park in Albany. They contacted Howard Mehaffey, 44, who had three warrants for his arrest, including a statewide felony parole board warrant. Howard Mehaffey was taken into custody and transported to the Linn County Jail. Sean Tallman, 25, of Rainier, had two confirmed statewide felony parole board warrants for his arrest. Tallman was taken into custody and transported to the Lane County Jail.
FAIL RETURN SUSP DL - On Friday, August 20, 2021, at about 8:15 pm, deputies stopped a silver Nissan Maxima for failure to maintain its lane. The driver was cited for operating without driving privileges. They later arrested the passenger, Sarah Elizabeth Rue, 22, of Salem, for failure to return a suspended license. Rue was issued a criminal citation and released.
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE ASSAULT - On Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 2:49 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 33100 block of Ada Drive in Philomath for a disturbance. JOSHUA GONZALES, 42, of Monmouth, was in an altercation with a male. He admitted to shoving him, grabbing him by the wrists, and pinning him down on his bed. GONZALES was cited for Harassment.
THEFT 2 LOST/MISLAID PROPERTY - On August 18, 2021 at about 11:00 AM, deputies responded to the Benton County Court house located at 120 NW 4th Street for a theft complaint. Heather Sauter, 36, stole Marcus Dodson’s phone as he made a court appearance. The phone was valued at $150 and Sauter was issued a citation for theft II.
IDENTITY THEFT - On 8/15/2021 at around 5:15 PM, deputies arrived in the 2000 block of NW Fawnee Dr. to speak with a resident about a suspicious circumstance involving her identity. She got a letter from the state employment office dated 8/10/2021 stating she had submitted paperwork for unemployment funds. She did not submit any paperwork to the state employment office. A couple days later, she received 2 checks from the state employment office with her name on it sent to her home address totaling over $1000.00. She planned to contact the state employment office and talk to someone about the checks and fraud involving her.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On August 21, 2021 at approximately 3:51 pm, ELBINGER, Luke, 29, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA Criminal Tamper injury PR. A new court date and time was given to appear in the Corvallis Muni Court.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 20, 2021, around 5:00 PM, deputies went to 7890 Skillings Drive, Corvallis, to look for Lawrence John Lemaster Sr., 61, to arrest him for a warrant for: Sodomy 1 X2, Sex Abuse 1 X16, and Unlawful Sexual Penetration 2 X2. Benton County Circuit Court, Bail: $50,000. Lemaster was lodged at the Benton County Jail.
THEFT 3 - On Friday, August 20, 2021 at 8:49 AM, a resident in the 900 block of NW Highland Terrace Avenue in Corvallis reported her Republic Services yard waste bin had been stolen from where she set it out on the street sometime between Monday, August 9 and Thursday, August 12. Deputies provided her with a case number so Republic Services could replace the bin.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, August 20, 2021, at about 9:02 am, deputies were dispatched to a traffic complaint located near Kings Valley Highway and Priest Road, Philomath. A 2004 Acura TL had a flat tire and was completely off the roadway on Kings Valley Highway. Deputies made contact with Dezmeree Acosta, 35, of Dallas, who had a confirmed warrant from Philomath Municipal Court. Acosta was cited and released on scene. A tire company assisted with changing the flat tire.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 20, 2021 at around 3:17 AM, deputies contacted a male at Takena Landing located at 600 HWY 20, Albany. The male was identified as Jonathan Wood, 48, who had an active Linn County Circuit Court warrant for failing to appear on a criminal trespass in the second degree. Wood was transported to the Linn County Jail, where he was issued a citation for Possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine and booked on his warrant.
FRAUDULENT USE CREDIT CARD - On August 19, 2021 at around 6:14, deputies were dispatched to the 33600 block of Springer Rd for a fraud. The resident reported someone had hacked her husband`s cousins social media account. She told me deputies did not authorize any money transfers and determined later her husband`s Cousin`s account had been hacked on August 16, 2021. She notified her bank and canceled all of her cards. The social media account thread has since been deactivated and is no longer accessible.
FAIL CARRY/PRESENT OP LICENSE; WARRANT ARREST - On August 19, 2021 at around 5:00 pm, deputies initiated a traffic stop on a 2006 silver Chrysler 300 which continued on Philomath Blvd and pulled into the Pioneer Park parking lot located at 1300 SW Philomath Blvd. Deputies contacted the driver, later identified as Brandon Glassman, 19. Glassman did not have any identification and was placed in custody for ORS.807.570 Failure to carry or present a license. Deputies determined Glassman`s identity and discovered he also had a warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Fail to perform the duties of a driver. Dispatch also advised his license was suspended violation for driving uninsured. Deputies asked Glassman if he had insurance on his vehicle and he told them he did not. Glassman was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody for his warrant and also for failure to carry or present a license. Glassman was additionally issued traffic citations for ORS.811.175 Driving while suspended, ORS.806.010 Driving uninsured, and ORS.803.550 Illegal alteration or display of plates.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 4:39 PM, deputies stopped a black Hyundai SUV for a traffic violation on West Hills Road near Lookout Drive. One of the passengers, ASHLEY COATS, 35, quickly left the traffic stop on a skateboard, but was stopped and arrested nearby after deputies learned she had multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. COATS was cited and released on her warrants at the request of the Benton County Jail.
DWS MIS - On Thursday, August 19, 2021 at 3:49 PM, deputies stopped a teal Toyota coupe on Fern Road near Chapel Drive for a traffic violation. They arrested the driver, RICHARD SATHER, 31, for Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor) for which he was cited and released. SATHER was also cited for Driving Uninsured.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 19, 2021, deputies responded to the 7200 block of NW Fawn Ridge Dr., Albany, for a welfare check. A resident was transported by Albany EMT`s to Corvallis GSH. Deputies also cited Christopher Meahan, 39, on an Albany Municipal court warrant at the residence.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 18, 2021 at about 1:26 A.M., deputies contacted two people in a suspicious car on the side of Springhill Drive near Buena Vista Road. The vehicle, a silver Mazda 6 with a temporary permit, was called in by a property owner and deputies determined the two males were just talking. Car owner COLBY DEAN MONTIGUE, 21, of Sweet Home, had a confirmed misdemeanor warrant out of Linn County for FTA Harassment and was cited in lieu of custody.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 8/18/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:25 PM, DEPUTIES RAN TYLER, ZACHARY, 42, AND LEARNED HE HAD A WARRANT OUT OF APD FOR RESISTING, CITE AND RELEASE. TYLER WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE.
IDENTITY THEFT - On August 18, 2021, a Corvallis resident reported several credit card applications were taken out in her name. It is unknown if any new accounts have actually been opened.
DUII - On August 14, 2021 at around 2:54 am, BCSO Deputies made a traffic stop on a white Honda accord. Deputies conducted a DUII investigation and determined the driver, Thomas JONES, 51, of Twin Falls, ID, was under the influence of intoxicants and was subsequently arrested for DUII. JONES was processed for DUII at the Law Enforcement Center and later issued a citation in lieu of custody.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:43 PM, a resident in the 9500 block of NW Cardwell Hill Drive reported there were assorted items of a suspicious nature left at the end of his driveway near the trash receptacle in the Fitton Green trailhead parking lot sometime between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM. The items included an old gray fuzzy blanket, an empty cardboard Rolex watch box, an empty brown paper grocery sack, and a handheld upholstery cleaning device. The items did not appear to be of any significant value and there were no identifying marks or ownership information.
UNPROVOKED ATTACK – On August 16, 2021, deputies issued a citation to two separate dog owners living in the 26800 block of Cecil Lane in Alsea. The citation was for their dogs running at large and attacking the neighbor’s dog, causing injury.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 3:30 PM, a driver was traveling southbound on NW Highland Drive near NW James Avenue in her Toyota Prius when she fell asleep and her vehicle left the roadway. Her car crossed a ditch without rolling and came to rest in a field, sustaining significant damage to the undercarriage and suspension. She suffered minor cuts and scrapes and was evaluated at the scene by medics. Her vehicle was towed due to damage.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 8/11/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:25 PM, FELIP, ANGELA, 24, TURNED HERSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH ST IN CORVALLIS ON A WARRANT FOR FTA THEFT 2, OUT OF APD. THE WARRANT WAS CONFIRMED AND FELIP WAS RELEASED WITH A COURT DATE AND TIME.
COMPUTER CRIME - On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at about 8:30 AM, deputies were dispatched to a fraud complaint in the 8900 block of NW Lorri Place, near Corvallis. A resident stated her email account had been hacked into. She stated she did not have any money taken or other fraudulent activity.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On Thursday, August 12, 2021, at approximately 3:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to contact a man regarding the theft of a catalytic converter from his motorhome which is stored at a facility in the 5200 block of NE Elliott Circle, Corvallis. No suspect(s) at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, August 16, 2021, at approximately 6:57 PM, deputies stopped a driver for a moving violation in the area of 3rd Street and Avery Avenue. The passenger in the vehicle, JUAN ENRIQUE RODRIGUEZ III, 26, had an active, confirmed warrant for his arrest out of Lebanon Municipal Court. Deputies arrested JUAN and later released him with a criminal citation. The driver was issued a traffic citation for multiple violations.
IDENTITY THEFT - On Monday, August 16, 2021, deputies were dispatched to contact a resident concerning identity theft. He told deputies he received a letter from Source RN from North Carolina. He said Source RN was attempting to collect $1,357.25 in unpaid fees for a Sprint account. He said he has never had a Sprint account and contacted them. He discovered someone used his information to open a Sprint account. Sprint was working with him to resolve the matter and needed a case number which deputies provided him. There are no suspects in this case.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday August 16, 2021 at about 2:50 AM, deputies stopped a car for a traffic violation on 2nd St, near Harrison Blvd. Dispatch advised the driver, TRISTIN JOSEPH BRINKLEY, 23, had an outstanding Warrant out of Benton County Circuit Court for F.T.A.- THEFT II. BRINKLEY was issued a citation in the field and cited and released.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On August 15, 2021 at about 9:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of HWY 99W and Elliott Cir for a report of gunshots heard. A second caller reported hearing a verbal argument in the 5800 block of NW HWY 99W. Deputies contacted a male and two others at this location. The male, an overnight watchman, did not hear any gunshots/argument but did see a vehicle pull into the parking lot and leave earlier. Deputies did not see any spent casings or evidence of a firearm during their contact with the watchman.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at about 9:40 AM, deputies took a theft report from a resident by phone. She said last week on Tuesday August 10, she, her husband and friends were working on remodeling the inside of the Willamette Community and Grange Hall (aka, Greenberry Grange Hall). She said she took photos of their work using her Apple iPad Pro and she thinks she put the iPad Pro back in her car. Shen believes an unknown person entered her 2004 Volkswagen Golf and stole the iPad. She said she left her car unlocked and with the windows down. There are no investigative leads at this time.
HARASSMENT - On 8/16/2021 at around 5:20 PM, deputies arrived at the Benton County Jail to take a report of a disturbance that happened earlier that day. They spoke with an adult in custody in an interview room. He told deputies he was pushed and hit by another adult in custody earlier that day because the jail`s food gives him gas and he did not like the smell. Deputies asked the victim if he was hurt; he said he was not. Deputies asked him if he wanted to press charges against the other man. He said he did not; he wanted it documented. Deputies then attempted to speak with the suspect and he told deputies he wanted an attorney. Deputies did not ask the suspect any questions.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, August 13, 2021 at 8:24 AM, deputies went to the 400 block of NW 2nd Street in Corvallis where they arrested KYLER WILSON, 26, for numerous outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants. WILSON was transported to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
RECKLESS DRIVING; ELUDE VEHICLE - On Monday August 9, 2021 at about 11:55 PM, deputies attempted to stop a motorcycle for traveling at excessive speeds east on Van Buren Ave and then west on Harrison Blvd. The motorcycle was traveling west on Harrison Blvd at 98 MPH so they did not pursue it. Attempts to locate the motorcycle later were unsuccessful and there is no suspect information at this time.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On 7/17/2021 at around 6:00 PM, deputies arrived near the old bridge area on Pit Road to a motorcycle that had been left there. The motorcycle appeared to have been dumped there due to the condition of it. Deputies called the registered owner of the cycle and he said he sold it several years ago and does not know who owns it now. Deputies had it tagged for removal.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On June 18, 2021, deputies responded to a report of an argument at the Salmonberry Campground. They arrived and contacted the parties involved and told them to separate for the night or they would be removed from the campground and charged with Disorderly Conduct II.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, August 15, 2021 at approximately 2:15 P.M., Driver 1 was driving his Mazda CX9 eastbound on Highway 20 near Highway 34. Driver 2 was stopped at the stop sign on Highway 34 waiting to turn west onto Highway 20 in her Toyota Tundra. Driver 2 pulled out too soon and struck the passenger side of Driver 2’s vehicle in the rear passenger door. There were no injuries.
SEX ABUSE 3 PHYSICAL MOLEST - On August 15, 2021 at about 1:00 PM, deputies responded to the E.E. Wilson fishing area located at 29555 Camp Adair Rd near milepost 1. A male stated that he was sexually assaulted by an unknown Hispanic male during a jog. Case discontinued due to a lack of leads.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 VANDALISM - On Sunday August 15, 2021, at about 12:19 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Courthouse located at 120 NW 4th Street, Corvallis, Oregon, regarding a criminal mischief of cutting shrubs. A male was trimming the bushes because he thought they needed it, and he needed a job. He was wearing a pink bicycle helmet with a half broken glasses frame tied to the helmet where it hung down in front of his left eye, two different shoes, wearing them on the wrong feet, and wearing only one sock. He was given a verbal warning and asked to the leave the Courthouse grounds.
PROPERTY, FOUND - On Saturday, August 14, 2021, at about 3:10 pm, deputies were dispatched to found property on West Hills Road and Rosecrest Drive, Philomath. Deputies made contact with a woman who found a bb handgun in the middle of West Hills Road. Deputies checked the serial number through dispatch, and the bb gun was not linked to a person or incident. Deputies collected the bb gun, cleared it, secured it, made sure the barrel was clear, and submitted it to evidence as found property.
THEFT 2 - On August 14, 2021 around 3:15PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a man by phone for a theft that had occurred at the archery range near the EE Wilson wildlife area. He described the target as an Olympic target, 52 inches in diameter and 7 inches thick made of black foam. The stand the target sat on was described as a wooden folding stand with two wheels. He valued the stand at $75 and the target to be $500. There is no suspect information at this time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Sunday, August 14, 2021, at about 8:10 am, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash regarding a car upside down in a ditch located near Kings Valley Hwy, and Hoskins Road, Philomath. The driver drove her 2004 Kia Optima around a corner too fast, got distracted by the sun, lost control of her vehicle, and drove off the road into a steep ditch, overturning her vehicle. A farmer nearby helped her exit her vehicle and drove her to her residence nearby. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and a family member took the driver to urgent care.
RECKLESS ENDANGERING - On August 13, 2021, at about 5:20 p.m., a male whom lives in the 4700 block NW Anthony Place called to report shots been fired in the direction of their neighborhood, and going through trees and branches behind his property and a couple neighbors’ property. They suspected it was coming from NW Oak Grove Drive just east of their houses. He wanted the person(s) shooting warned only. Deputies went to the 2100 block of NW Oak Grove Drive and spoke with a male who said he and some friends were shooting in their property, which they thought was a safe direction. He showed deputies the location and it was in the direction of NW Anthony Place. Deputies educated the male and he felt bad; he said he would shoot in a safer direction next time.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Friday, August 13, 2021, at about 2:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to assist the Fire Department with a car fire in the area of SW Plymouth Drive and SW 53rd Street, Corvallis. A 2022 International commercial truck backed into a 2004 Ford Taurus on SW Plymouth Drive. The damage caused by the collision started an engine fire that was successfully extinguished. Both parties had no apparent injuries and the Ford Taurus was towed.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On August 13, 2021, deputies stopped a female for riding a bicycle with no front light on Highway 99W at Old River Road. They subsequently determined she was 13 years old and had left home in Corvallis without permission. Deputies later released her to her father.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 08/12/21 HARP, Bobby Gene, 46, turned himself in at Benton Co Jail on a Benton Circuit warrant. Deputies served the warrant on Harp.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On August 12, 2021 at approximately 1:20 pm, HALL, Trael Lynn, 36, turned herself into the jail on a warrant for FTA - Att. to commit a class A felony, attempt to commit a class C felony, Criminal Mischief in the second degree, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct in the second degree, Burglary in the first degree, and Coercion. Due to the jail being full a new court date and time was issued for HALL to appear in court.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday August 9, 2021 at about 7:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 27600 block of Hwy 99W, Corvallis for an argument in the parking lot. I arrived and contacted TRACY ANN WHIPPS, 51, who had been arguing about a vehicle. Dispatch advised WHIPPS had an outstanding Warrant out of Lebanon Justice Court for F.T.C.- Driving While Suspended. WHIPPS was issued a citation in the field and released.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 8/9/2021 at around 5:45 PM, vehicle #1 was traveling eastbound on NE Arnold Ave, approaching NE Laurel Dr. Vehicle #2 was traveling westbound on NE Arnold Ave approaching NE Laurel Dr. Vehicle #1 attempted to make a left hand turn onto NE Laurel Dr and turned in front of vehicle #2. Vehicle #2 hit vehicle #1. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene due to the damage from the crash.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - ON 8/2/21 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:40 PM, CHRISTENSEN, MIRANDA, 26, TURNED HERSELF INTO THE BCCF LOBBY LOCATED AT 190 NW 4TH STREET IN CORVALLIS ON A WARRANT OUT OF CLACKAMAS COUNTY FOR UUV, NO BAIL. CHRISTENSEN WAS BOOKED AND TRANSPORTED TO CLACKAMAS COUNTY.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT - On August 15, 2021, at around 1:25pm, deputies were dispatched to the 28800 block of Fish Hatchery Road for a reported trespass. A female reported seeing three individuals in a green sport utility vehicle trespassing on property. The vehicle and individuals were later located and it was determined they had been on a relative`s property. No crime found.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On August 14, 2021 around 5:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a male about the theft of his golf clubs at the Golf Club of Oregon. He reported his expensive set of golf clubs had been taken out of his Jeep Wrangler with no top on it. His Calloway golf clubs in a black Under Armor bag, and $100 cash was taken from his vehicle. No suspect information at this time.
PROPERTY, LOST - On Saturday, August 14, 2021, at about 10:01am, deputies were dispatched to lost property at Highway 20 and Highway 34, Philomath. A male reported a soft cooler blue, gray, and black in color, containing four to five filet knives, and a Smith & Wesson 66-1 357 magnum had fallen out of his boat during his journey from Philomath to Newport. On August 15, 2021, contact was made with Oregon State Police confirming his property was found along Highway 20 around milepost 31-32, and turned into OSP. OSP contacted him and advised him how to claim his property.
INTERFERE W/ PEACE OFFICER; DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2; RESISTING ARREST - On 08/14/2021 at approximately 1:34 am, deputies assisted Corvallis Police with a motor vehicle crash in the city. During the incident an argument occurred and they arrested Kyle Price, 22 for Interfering, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Price was taken to the Benton County Jail. Robert Yelas, 22, was also arrested for Interfering.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 13, 2021, around 4:00 PM, deputies went to the Parole and Probation Office at 180 5th Street, Corvallis, to do follow up when Parole and Probation Deputies advised a male, later identified as Allen Lee Nolan Jr., 25, had a warrant. Deputies issued Nolan a citation for his warrant and left him in the Parole and Probation Lobby.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On August 13, 2021, at around 8:33 am, deputies were dispatched to SW Reservoir Ave, milepost 1, for a reported motor vehicle accident. A driver was traveling west on Reservoir Ave when he fell asleep and drove off the roadway. His vehicle, a tan 2001 Honda Accord, was towed from the scene. No apparent injuries.
UNLAW POSS OF FIREARM; WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, August 12, 2021, at about 10:15 am, while on patrol on Highway 99 near milepost 104, deputies saw a gray Chrysler traveling south with no front license plate. Deputies stopped the car on Lingo Lane near Highway 99 and later arrested the driver, Zachery Tyler Shinall, 23, for unlawful possession of a firearm and on a Benton County Circuit Court warrant. They also arrested the passenger, Noah Glenn Burke, 21, on three Benton County Circuit Court warrants.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On August 12, 2021 at around 3:30 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of NE Highway 20 near Independence Highway for a suspicious vehicle. A motorist found a 2006 Chrysler 2000 sedan parked in the west bound lane of traffic abandoned with headlights on and driver’s side door open. The car did not have any license plates. VIN Check returned not stolen. Deputies checked the area and did not find anyone around. The car was towed to a lot in Corvallis as a traffic hazard.
DUII - On August 12, 2021 at approximately 11:10 PM, deputies stopped Glenn HINTZ, 45, of Lebanon, for driving 91/55. HINTZ had bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. HINTZ admitted to drinking a beer around 6:00 PM. HINTZ initially denied using cannabis but later admitted to also using cannabis around 6:00 PM. HINTZ consented to field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUII.
HARASSMENT - On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at about 7:20 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 2300 block of Primrose Loop for a possible domestic. They arrived and spoke with a victim and suspect, Natalie Aislynn Roberts, 32. Deputies later arrested Roberts for Harassment and transported her to the Benton County Sheriff`s Office where she was issued a criminal citation and a conditional release agreement. Roberts was released to a friend at the Benton County Sheriff`s Office.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 7, 2021, at around 9:18 pm, deputies observed a female walking along Highway 20, near Milepost 7. The female, later identified as Noelle Whittier, 27, told deputies she had run out of gas and was walking to a nearby gas station. Noelle was later issued a criminal citation for an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Contempt of Court.
THEFT 2 - On Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:48 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 16400 block of Highway 34 in Alsea for a theft of two kayaks. The kayaks were stolen sometime between July 31, 2021 and August 5, 2021. They had been moored on the north bank of the Alsea River between the end of Leisure Way and Cecil Lane.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; IDENTITY THEFT - On Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:57 PM, a female reported her boyfriend’s vehicle was broken into while it was parked at the Lewisburg Saddle on Sulphur Springs Road and they went hiking nearby. His wallet and its contents were stolen. The male suspect attempted to use his credit/debit cards at Fred Meyer, but was unsuccessful.
INITIATE FALSE REPORT - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:32 PM, KIMBERLEY LOPEZ, 42, of Alsea, reported that a man pulled a knife on her and threatened to kill her dogs. An investigation determined two of LOPEZ`S dogs attacked a young female child in the street and the man had come to the aid of the child, which was corroborated by numerous witnesses. LOPEZ was cited for Initiating a False Report.
FOUND PROPERTY - On Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 9:15 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Highway 99W & Llewellyn Road for found property. A passing motorist reported there was a cardboard box containing Marijuana bongs in the ditch on the southbound side of the highway. Deputies located the box and left it with an employee at the nearby Marijuana production business on Llewellyn Road. The employee stated he would ask around to see if they belonged to anyone who worked there.
THEFT 1 FROM BUILDING - On Monday, August 9, 2021 at approximately 3:00 P.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with a male regarding the theft of a firearm. He told deputies he had last noticed the black, Taurus, semi-automatic handgun, several months earlier. He did not know the model or serial number. He said his daughter had taken all of the guns from his trailer after his attempted suicide. Deputies later spoke with the daughter who said she had not seen this gun when she seized all of her father’s guns.
ACCIDENT OTHER NO INJ - On July 28, 2021 at around 9:00 pm, deputies were dispatched to the area of NW 53rd Avenue and Bellfountain Road for a report of a possible intoxicated driver that had crashed into a fence. The vehicle left the area before deputies arrived. It was located and stopped by a Philomath Police Officer and later arrested the driver for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at about 1:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a criminal mischief complaint on the 2800 block of West Hills Road. The property owner reported the plastic cover on the control unit for his front gate had been broken open. He suspects someone was trying to override the controls to open the gate. He does not believe the gate was opened. No other damage was found and nothing was stolen from the property.
HARASSMENT - On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at about 10:00 am, deputies were dispatched to a reported dispute between a driver and a pedestrian near the intersection of NW Happy Valley Drive and NW Meadow View Drive. The pedestrian shouted at the driver for driving too fast in the neighborhood. The driver later slapped a phone out of the pedestrian’s hand and attempted to punch him. The pedestrian ultimately left the area unharmed. The driver was advised of the proper way to handle problems with speeding. The pedestrian did not want harassment charges brought against the driver.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at about 8:00 am, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover crash on SW 53rd Street near Bellfountain Road. The driver rolled his pickup truck while swerving to avoid an animal in the road. The driver declined medical assistance and was given a courtesy ride to Corvallis. The vehicle was towed.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Monday, August 9, 2021, at about 9:20 am, deputies were dispatched to a reported injury crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle at Lewisburg Road and Highland Drive. The motorcycle driver was transported by medics to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center for treatment of an injured arm.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On Monday, August 9, 2021, at about 8:40 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle blocking mailboxes in the 300 block of NE Carmen Place, Adair. When deputies arrived, the vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the street but was no longer blocking the mailboxes. The driver said he would no longer block the mailboxes and would park on the correct side of the street from now on.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 VANDALISM; DUII; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER; ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On August 8, 2021 at about 10:53 pm, deputies were dispatched to Alpine and Kyle for a report of a single vehicle hit and run traffic crash. The driver, later identified as Brandon Scott Trimble, 33, was located about .4 miles away. Trimble was westbound on Alpine when he failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the road. The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a mailbox on the south shoulder. Trimble corrected right, then left, before he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the south ditch. Trimble was arrested for DUII and Fail to Perform Duties-Property Damage. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to damages.
UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On Saturday, July 24, 2021, at about 8:15 PM, deputies were dispatched to a criminal mischief at the OSU gate at the end of NW Oak Creek Drive, near Corvallis. Deputies spoke to a man who stated his 2006 Toyota Siena van had been broken into. He said he parked at 6:00 PM to go mountain bike and when he returned at about 8:00 PM, his driver-side window was broken out. He stated nothing was taken and there were no witnesses to the event. He estimated the cost to replace the window to be about $500.00 dollars. Deputies provided him a case number and answered additional questions.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 10, 2021 at 2:23 am, deputies assisted Philomath with a traffic stop at 13th and Applegate. A female passenger identified herself as Tarah Lyn Hyre, 33. Dispatch confirmed Hyre had four warrants for her arrest. Deputies issued Hyre three citations with court dates. The first was a no bail Benton County Circuit Court warrant for Trespass I. The second was a no bail Linn County Circuit Court warrant for PV-Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and PCS-Meth. The third was a no bail Albany Muni Court warrant for Larceny/Theft III.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On August 9, 2021 at around 12:03 AM, deputies responded to the 8400 block of NE Barberry drive to for a suspicious circumstance. The caller heard what sounded like glass breaking. Upon arrival, deputies located a man who admitted to boxing a piece of wood in the bus stop to relieve some stress. No damages were caused.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, August 9, 2021, at about 11:15 am, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Parole and Probation office to arrest Lori Pauline Barker, 34, on an Albany Municipal Court warrant for Theft II. Barker was cited and released.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On Sunday, August 8, 2021, at about 3:55 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 2100 block of NE Highway 20, Corvallis, for a hit and run. A man reported his 2012 Honda Odyssey was hit while parked in a parking space at Golf City. Estimated value of damage is around $2,500, and there is no suspect identified at this time.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On August 4, 2021 at about 12:56 am, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of Alsea St, Alsea for a report of a UEMV. A resident reported an unknown male entered his unlocked work truck and stole his wallet and tools.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On July 29, 2021, a theft of a Star Fire 6000, GPS receiver from a John Deere tractor was reported. The theft occurred sometime during the previous week while the tractor was parked in a field south of NE Granger Ave and East of NE Pettibone Dr.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2; BIAS CRIME 2 - On August 8, 2021, around 5:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 2600 block of NW Highway 20 for reported vandalism. The caller reported one of his, "Black Lives Matter," signs and an, "Albany Pride," sign had been vandalized in his front yard. There was a swastika, and racial slurs painted on the signs. There is no suspect information at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, August 6, 2021 at 4:33 PM, deputies accompanied OSU PD Officers to the 1300 block of SW E Avenue in Corvallis to attempt to identify a bicycle theft suspect. The suspect was not there at the time, but deputies recognized a different individual as someone they were familiar with from prior contacts named MATTHEW VAN OSTRAN, 26. Deputies arrested VAN OSTRAN for multiple outstanding misdemeanor warrants which Dispatch confirmed. VAN OSTRAN was cited and released on his warrants at the request of the Benton County Jail.
DWS MIS - On August 5, 2021, around 11:30 PM, deputies were driving eastbound on NE Highway 20, stopped at the intersection at Conifer Blvd, when they observed a silver sedan turn left, onto NE Highway 20 off of Conifer Blvd. While the silver sedan was negotiating the left hand turn to go eastbound on NE Highway 20, they observed the vehicle cross over the double yellow center line, and cross into the westbound lane. The driver identified himself as Rodolfo Carrillo Jr., 25, of Lincoln City. Deputies issued him a citation for Misdemeanor Driving While Suspended.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 3:45 PM, deputies contacted and arrested AUGUSTIN HOLGUIN, 57, for a confirmed misdemeanor warrant while he was in a driveway of the 800 block of NW Tyler Avenue in Corvallis. The Linn County Sheriff`s Office also had existing probable cause to charge HOLGUIN with the crimes of Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Menacing. HOLGUIN was transported to the Linn County Jail where he was booked and lodged. HOLGUIN was issued a criminal citation with a court date for his warrant.
WARRANT ARREST - On August 5, 2021, at around 2:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to two suspicious vehicles near the 25700 block of Bruce Road. Deputies encountered Josee Whitewater, 23, attempting to fix a disabled vehicle. Whitewater was later arrested for a Benton County Circuit Warrant for Failure to Appear and transported to the Benton County Jail.
WARRANT ARREST - LIA POPE, 27, WAS RAN FOR WANTS PRIOR TO RELEASE FROM CUSTODY AND A WARRANT FOR FTA ROBBERY 3 OUT OF BENTON COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT WAS LOCATED. THE WARRANT WAS SERVED, A COURT DATE WAS GIVEN, AND SUBJECT WAS RELEASED FROM CUSTODY.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:26 AM, deputies responded to the 18100 block of Highway 34 in Alsea for a suspicious vehicle. Someone had left a light blue, 1994 Honda Accord sedan on private property. The vehicle was not listed as stolen and was removed later that day by an unknown individual.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT 2 - On Thursday, August 5, 2021, at about 6:15 pm, deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W near Llewellyn Road for a report of a male standing and lying in the roadway. Deputies arrived and located a male matching the description of the suspect. Deputies gave him a courtesy ride to Monroe as he stated he was walking there to visit his parents. He was dropped off at the Monroe Substation.
RECKLESS DRIVING - On Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at approximately 11:40 A.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with a female regarding a complaint of Reckless Driving on Spring Hill Road near Buena Vista Road. She told deputies a dump truck towing a trailer passed multiple vehicles on Springhill Road, causing oncoming traffic to stop. She said the vehicle was honking its horn as it passed. Deputies were unable to contact the trucking company. She said she had seen the tow truck around 10:30 A.M. on August 3rd and 4th. Deputies told her dayshift would try to have someone in the area.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1; WARRANT ARREST - On August 2, 2021 at about 10:45 AM, deputies responded to the railroad tracks near 2020 SW Allen Street in Corvallis for a trespassing complaint. They subsequently arrested Nicole Patterson, 23, of Wilsonville, for 5 warrants, criminal trespass, and false information. Patterson was issued a citation in lieu of custody and released from the Law Enforcement Center.
DWS MIS - On August 3, 2021 at around 7:22 pm, deputies observed a maroon Toyota Carolla traveling northbound on HWY 99W from Monroe. Deputies ran the license plate and saw the registered owner was suspended misdemeanor. They initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted the driver, Danielle Hilliard, 32. Hilliard was issued a criminal citation in lieu of custody for driving while suspended misdemeanor.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On August 3, 2021 at about 9:28 pm, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run crash in the 3300 block of SW 53rd St. The vehicle was located about a mile away and the driver was identified as Ricardo Arenas-Briteno, 22. Ricardo was traveling too fast to negotiate a right curve in the road. Ricardo crossed the center line and entered the southeast ditch. The vehicle struck brush adjacent to the roadway before it was able to drive out of the ditch and continue south on 53rd St. Ricardo was subsequently arrested for DUII and the vehicle was towed from the scene due to damages.
ASSAULT 4 - On August 3, 2021 at around 9:53 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 27700 block of Highway 99W near Monroe, for a report of a disturbance. A neighbor living in the apartment complex reported seeing people arguing outside in the parking area. Deputies later arrested 28-year-old Danielle Cook, 28, for Assault IV. Danielle was transported to the Benton County Jail in Corvallis.
INITIATE FALSE REPORT - On Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at approximately 12:30 P.M., deputies were dispatched to speak with a male who told them his vehicle was stolen. When deputies asked for more information, he told them he did not know who stole his vehicle. Another deputy, who took a similar call from him earlier in the day, informed him it was a civil issue due to his landlord towing the RV. Deputies warned him about Initiating a False Report.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Friday, July 30, 2021 at about 2:47 pm, deputies were dispatched to South Fork Road near mile post 7 for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, medics were already on scene. Unit one was headed east on South Fork Road and observed a motorcycle, heading west at a high rate of speed, lose control in front of unit one. The motorcycle left the roadway and crashed in ditch on the north side of South Fork Road. Unit two said he was headed west on South Fork Road and came around a corner and observed a vehicle headed east on his side of the roadway. The driver swerved to avoid colliding with the vehicle and crashed in the ditch. Unit two was being followed by two friends, and stated their statements were consistent with unit two. The driver of unit two was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash. There was no damage to unit one and minimal damage to unit two. Unit two was towed from the scene.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 30, 2021 at approximately 3:29 pm, FONGER, Kyler, 26, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA Criminal Mischief 2. A new court date and time was issued to appear.
WARRANT ARREST - On Monday, August 2, 2021, at about 1:45 pm, deputies were dispatched to the Benton County Parole and Probation office to serve two warrants on Julie Marie Quinlan, 48, of Lebanon. Quinlan was cited and released.
THEFT 1 DECEPTION - On August 2, 2021, at about 10:36 am, deputies were dispatched to the 5800 block of NW Mountain View Drive, Corvallis, Oregon regarding a fraud. The resident reported being the victim of a scam that started with a Best Buy email. She said she purchased $2,500.00 in gift cards and gave the gift card numbers over the phone, before realizing it was fraudulent. No suspect has been identified at this time.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE ; UUV; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE; THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE - On Sunday, August 1, 2021, at about 7:21am, deputies were dispatched to a stolen vehicle located in the 3900 block of 25th Ave NW, Albany. A female resident reported her black 2016 Ford Explorer was taken from her driveway sometime between 4:45 am and 7:20 am. Her purse and keys were inside the vehicle. Total value of items stolen with the vehicle is $275.00. A male from the same residence reported items stolen from his unlocked 2012 Dodge Ram 3500, total value $444.00. A stolen vehicle report was signed for the Explorer. No suspect identified at this time
WARRANT ARREST - On August 2, 2021 at around 11:45 pm, deputies stopped a silver 1997 Honda Civic in the parking lot of Safeway off of Philomath Blvd after it cut them off, had expired tags, and a bashed-in windshield. They contacted the driver, Justice Ortiz, 24, who had no insurance and a warrant for her arrest out of Philomath Municipal Court for Contempt of Court. She was issued a citation in lieu of custody. She was also issued a traffic citation for driving uninsured.
FALSE INFO TO POLICE OFFICER; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 1; WARRANT ARREST - On August 2, 2021 at about 10:45 AM, deputies responded to the railroad tracks near 2020 SW Allen Street in Corvallis for a trespass complaint and subsequently arrested Nicole Patterson, 23, for 5 warrants: criminal trespass and false information. Patterson was issued a citation in lieu of custody and released from the Law Enforcement Center.
ROBBERY 1 – On August 1, 2021 at about 11:00 AM, deputies were dispatched to speak with a man regarding a cold robbery. He indicated he was a transient living near Takena Landing and he was in a fight with two other transient males that took $100 cash and fireworks from him. He refused to be a victim or cooperate and stated that his mother was the one who actually called. Case discontinued due to a lack of victim cooperation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On July 31, 2021 at around 4:15pm, deputies were dispatched to HWY 20 near Lone Star Rd for a motor vehicle crash with injuries. They learned from multiple witnesses, driver 1 had been speeding and tailgating people and then passing unsafely. Driver 1 passed a black jeep which sparked a road rage incident. The Jeep sped up and cut off driver 1, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crash head-on into two males driving in a blue ford focus before his vehicle flew off the roadway. All three individuals were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Driver 1 was issued a citation for ORS.811.135, Careless driving.
HARASSMENT PHYSICAL CONTACT/SIMPLE ASSAULT - On July 30, 2021 at approximately 8:10 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 200 block of NW 53rd St, Corvallis, for a report of a fight. Two males got into a fight. One left the scene with an unknown male. Both were warned.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 3:30 pm, deputies responded to a single vehicle crash in the 200 block of Armstrong Way. Unit 1 was northbound on Armstrong Way and swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle. Armstrong Way is a narrow roadway with no shoulder. Unit 1 left the roadway; the driver panicked and hit the accelerator by mistake. She drove through a front yard, damaging landscaping and fencing.
BURGLARY 2 - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 1:15pm, deputies were dispatched to investigate a cold burglary at NE Highway 20 and NE Garden Avenue. The farm operator reported that $750 in equipment and tools were stolen overnight from an unsecured greenhouse on the property.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 9:45 am, deputies were dispatched to a crash involving two motor vehicles and a bicycle on Highway 20 near milepost 6. The bicyclist sustained minor injuries.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Sunday August 1, 2021, at about 1:41 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of SW Allen Street, Corvallis, regarding a suspicious person. A resident found Thomas Hays, 52, on his front porch displaying odd behavior. Hays walked around a closed driveway gate and multiple no trespassing signs to get to the residence. Deputies arrested Hays for Criminal Trespass II, cited and released him at the Men’s Shelter on SE Chapman Place.
DWS MIS; WARRANT ARREST - On Sunday, August 1, 2021 at about 1:00 P.M., deputies observed a white, 1999, SAAB driving east on Highway 20 near milepost 40, with a red and white emergency flashing light in the windshield. Deputies arrested the driver, Dustin Whinnery, 34, for multiple warrants, and driving while suspended misdemeanor. Dustin was cited for Use of prohibited lighting equipment. Dustin was issued citations for his warrants and released. Dustin had one warrant out of Philomath Municipal Court for Driving while suspended - Misdemeanor with no bail. Dustin had a second warrant out of Albany Municipal Court for Driving while suspended - Misdemeanor with no bail.
DUII; RECKLESS DRIVING; ACCIDENT INJURY - On July 31, 2021, at around 3:54 pm, deputies were dispatched to Highway 99W Milepost 99 for a motor vehicle crash. James Reid, 47, of Eugene, crashed his silver 1996 Acura Integra when he drove off of the roadway. Reid was transported by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital. Reid was later issued criminal citations for DUII and Reckless Driving and his car was towed.
BCSO ANIMAL - On Saturday, July 31, 2021, at about 10:37 am, deputies were dispatched to a cat complaint on the 7200 block of NW Council Tree Lane, Corvallis. The caller reported an injured cat in the backyard of a house she is rehabilitating. Deputies captured the cat and took it to Heartland Humane Society. Heartland staff told deputies the cat was microchipped and they would attempt to contact the owner.
ASSAULT 4 - On July 31, 2021, at around 10:51 am, deputies were dispatched to the Alsea School for a reported assault. A man reported Doug Hatch, 50, kicked him in the neck during an argument. Hatch was later issued a criminal citation for Assault 4.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 8:56 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of NE Barberry Drive and NE Hyacinth Court in Adair Village for an abandoned vehicle. They tagged a silver, 2005 Honda Civic for tow, which had reportedly been left on the street near that location for approximately a week. The car was covered in dust and appeared to be in poor condition.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 10:21 AM, deputies contacted a black Audi sedan in a parking lot in the 2600 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. The driver was served with an outstanding restraining order. Two of the passengers, MERITT HAGEMAN, 25, and SEQUOIA WHITE, 23, were cited and released on numerous felony and misdemeanor warrants at the request of the Benton County Jail. Violation amounts of controlled substances and paraphernalia were located and seized for destruction.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On July 31, 2021 at approximately 5:30 AM, deputies saw a black sedan parked on the side of Highway 20 near milepost 43. The vehicle was parked with its driver’s side tires into the westbound lane of travel. A male was standing at the rear of the vehicle and told deputies he recently sold the vehicle. He said he saw the vehicle on the side of the highway so he stopped. He said the vehicle’s owner was nowhere to be found. Deputies told him he needed to make arraignments to have the vehicle moved since it was still registered to him. The man maintained he was no longer the owner; deputies had a tow company remove the vehicle as a road hazard.
WARRANT ARREST - On 07/30/2021 at approximately 1:14 am, deputies conducted a traffic stop on NW 29th Street near Walnut Boulevard. They identified the driver and solo occupant of the vehicle as Joshua Greene, 35. Greene had an active warrant for his arrest. Deputies issued Greene a citation in lieu of custody for his warrant.
DWS MIS; ACCIDENT NON INJURY - On July 30, 2021 at around 6:31pm, deputies responded to the area of Hwy 99W and Alpine Cutoff Road for a vehicle crash. They arrived on scene and located Donald HENDERSHOT, 47. They determined HENDERSHOT was driving southbound on HWY99 W and dropped his wheels off the shoulder edge of the roadway causing him to crash his ford F-150 which was pulling an RV 5th wheel trailer. Deputies determined HENDERSHOT did not have any insurance, and his driver’s license status was revoked misdemeanor. HENDERSHOT was issued a criminal citation for driving while suspended misdemeanor, and issued a traffic citation for driving uninsured. A tow company arrived on scene a short while later and removed the pickup and trailer from the area.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, July 30, 2021 at 1:37 PM, I contacted BRITTAIN DONALDSON, 31, of Bend, and AMATHIST LAHODNY, 22, of Scio, in a parking lot in the 1100 block of NW 9th Street in Corvallis. Both individuals had outstanding felony warrants for their arrest. DONALDSON was issued criminal citations with court dates in lieu of custody for his warrants. LAHODNY was arrested and transported to the Benton County Jail where she was booked on her warrants and subsequently released.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On July 29, 2021, at 10:32 PM, deputies were was dispatched to the 15200 block of Lobster Valley Road in Alsea for a suspicious vehicle. A caller reported an unoccupied 2015 Kia Sol parked across the street from his house for over a day. He wanted a report taken in case the owner was up to no good.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE - On July 29, 2021 around 10:30 PM, deputies were dispatched to 53rd Street, near milepost 2, Corvallis, for a suspicious vehicle. The caller said a dark-colored Chevy Blazer had been parked near the bridge across from his field all day. Deputies spoke with the owner of the vehicle who said he would move his vehicle when it was running again. Deputies received a text message from the caller a short time later stating they vehicle had moved on.
WARRANT ARREST - On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at about 12:20 pm, deputies arrested Ashley Nicole Ferro, 33, on a Benton County warrant for Disorderly Conduct II. Ferro was cited with a new court date and released.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 11:38 AM, a man called to report he located a knife with blood on it lying on the shoulder of Tampico Road, just west of Andrews Lane. The knife, which was a folding skinning knife, was covered in blood and had white animal hair stuck between the blade and body. Deputies left a business card at a residence near where the knife was found.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 29, 2021, at around 11:55 am, deputies contacted a man sitting down in a private field near Highway 99W Milepost 92. The man provided several false names and tried to walk away before finally identifying himself as David Wayne Jost, 65, of McMinville. Deputies later transported Jost to Benton County Jail on a Probation Violation Warrant out of California and was subsequently released.
THEFT 2 - On Thursday, July 29, 2021, at about 10:15 am, deputies were dispatched to a reported theft from a farm in the 1600 block of NE Nebergall Loop, Albany. The farm operator reported that a 12v solar panel kit and a water diaphragm pressure pump were stolen from a water trailer. He believed the theft happened within the last 7 days and that the thieves may have approached the farm from the Willamette River. No investigative leads at this time.
THEFT 3 - On July 29, 2021, at around 9:24 am, deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of Kelly St, Monroe, for a reported theft. A resident reported that the rear license plate of her red 2009 Nissan Versa was stolen. The theft occurred between 1:00pm on July 28 and 8:00am July 29. No current suspects.
THEFT OF SERVICES - On July 25, 2021, at around 3:57 am, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Main St for a report of theft of services. An employee reported a woman in a white Hyundai sedan with Nevada license plates put two trash bags of garbage in the Café’s garbage cans and drove off. Deputies were unable to locate the sedan.

A man reported the window of his 2020 Subaru Outback had been broken and its contents rifled through. No items of value appeared to have been stolen. No current suspects.

ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 7/23/2021 at around 6:13 PM, Vehicle #1 was stopped at the stop sign on Independence Rd and Highway 20, attempting to turn eastbound towards Albany on Highway 20. Vehicle #2 was traveling westbound on Highway 20 approaching Independence Rd. Vehicle #1`s view was partially blocked by a vehicle turning onto Independence Rd. Vehicle #1 turned in front of Vehicle #2 causing them to collide at the intersection. Both vehicles were towed from the scene due to the damage from the crash.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at about 1:13 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of SW 53rd Street for a motor vehicle crash. Unit one was headed south on 53rd Street and noticed traffic in front of him was stopped. Unit one was unable to stop and rear-ended unit two. Unit one was towed and the driver of Unit two drove his vehicle away from the scene.
ASSAULT 4; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 17, 2021 at approximately 3:10 AM, deputies responded to the 27100 block of Highway 99W, Monroe, and arrested Dalton BAKER, 26, for assault 4 and criminal trespass 2.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 07/28/2021, jail deputies discovered that Megan Lee Evans, 28, of Portland, had an active warrant. She was given a new court date and time to appear.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On 07/28/21 at approx 1:25 pm, jail deputies ran DEER, Dylan L., 25, and learned he had a warrant for FTA PCS Meth, out of Benton County, No Bail. DEER was given a court date and time to appear.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On July 28, 2021, deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of NW Cheri Place, Albany for a report of a travel trailer parked in the roadway. The trailer was parked in the northern most portion of the cul-de-sac. The trailer was not an obstruction to vehicle or EMS traffic and was not blocking any driveways.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at about 7:40 am, deputies were dispatched to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked in the 23000 block of Old Peak Rd, Philomath. They later contacted the driver of the vehicle, who was camping illegally nearby. He agreed to move his vehicle and not return to the area.
DWS MIS - On Monday, July 26, 2021 at about 8:48 AM, deputies received a call stating Jason Allie Coleman, 49, was at Wilson Motors honking his vehicle’s horn, causing a disturbance. Deputies knew Jason’s license to be suspended misdemeanor in Oregon. Jason Coleman admitted to driving his vehicle while misdemeanor suspended. Coleman was issued a citation for DWS Misdemeanor 811.182.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:30 PM, a resident in the 4300 block of NW Glenwood Avenue in Albany reported the catalytic converter had been cut off and stolen from his vehicle, a 2000 Ford Excursion SUV, sometime during the previous night. His children allegedly heard a noise around 2:30 AM that morning which resembled a welding or cutting torch based on the description they provided to their father.
DWS MIS - On July 26, 2021 at around 4:03 pm, deputies located Jason COLEMAN, 49, driving near Highway 99 W and Lewisburg Ave. Deputies knew COLEMAN’S driver’s license status was suspended misdemeanor. They performed a traffic stop on COLEMAN’S vehicle at Burgundy Dr and Lewisburg Ave and took COLEMAN into custody. COLEMAN was later issued a citation in lieu of custody and released.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Monday, July 26, 2021, at about 2:47 pm, deputies were dispatched to a suspicious person on the 25200 block of Kyle Roar, Monroe. A resident reported an adult female in her late 40’s to early 50’s with golden shoulder-length hair, driving a light blue 1995 style four door Honda Accord, stopped at her home and other homes in the area. She said she caught the woman in several lies and believes she could be up to criminal activity. She last saw her traveling southbound on Cherry Creek Road. Deputies drove the area and did not locate the female or the Honda.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1 VANDALISM - On Monday, July 26, 2021 at approximately 11:25 A.M., deputies spoke with a resident regarding his vehicle being broken into. He said his 2019 Honda CR-V had the rear driver’s side window and front passenger side windows broken out while it was parked at the Fitton Green Trailhead, on Friday, July 23, 2021 between approximately 5:00 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. This caused 2100.00 dollars in damage to the windows. Nothing appeared to have been stolen.
THEFT 1 FROM VEHICLE - On July 26, 2021, deputies spoke with a man who told said his catalytic converter was stolen from his motorhome between July 15, 2021 and July 25, 2021. The vehicle was stored on the 5200 block of NE Elliot Circle, Corvallis.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Monday, July 26, 2021, at about 10:28 am, deputies were dispatched to a hit and run that occurred on July 24, 2021, near the Lewisburg Saddle Trailhead on NW Sulphur Springs Road, Corvallis. A woman reported finding a note on her Toyota Highlander that was from someone who witnessed her vehicle being hit by a Toyota Tacoma and left the scene. Deputies were able to locate the Tacoma and the driver claimed she did not know she hit the Highlander. Deputies assisted both parties exchange insurance information.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, around 10:00 P.M., deputies responded to 19th Street near Industrial Way for a non-injury traffic crash. A driver was south on 19th Street in her Hyundai Elantra when she stopped for a deer in the roadway. Another deer ran into the passenger side of her vehicle causing some minor denting on both passenger doors. No one was injured and the Hyundai was able to drive away.
HARASSMENT - On Sunday, July 25, 2021, at approximately 2:20 P.M., deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of North 8th Street. They arrived and spoke with a female, who said she had been having an argument with her father, during which she pushed him, he pushed her back, and later was in her face. Both parties agreed to separate for the rest of the day.
THEFT 3 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3 - On Monday, June 14, 2021, at approximately 7:08 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of the Cardwell Hill Trailhead near 9200 NW Cardwell Hill Drive, Corvallis, for report of a theft from a vehicle. A female said she had gone hiking and returned to find her passenger side window broken and her purse gone. An attempt to purchase $500 in gift cards at Fred Meyer in Corvallis was made and surveillance video was obtained, but the suspect was not identifiable and is outstanding.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 24, 2021 at around 9:26 PM, deputies responded to a non-injury traffic crash at the intersection of 53rd Street and Harrison Blvd. Upon arrival they located a blue Nissan hatch back partially blocking the intersection. The second involved vehicle was off the roadway. Deputies contacted both drivers and determined no one was injured. They learned one of the drivers failed to yield to the oncoming traffic at the green light while trying to turn from Oak Creek Rd. north onto Walnut Blvd causing the traffic crash. The blue Nissan hatchback was towed and the other vehicle had minimal damages and was still operable.
FAIL TO PERFORM DUTIES/DRIVER - On July 23, 2021, around 4:00 PM, deputies were dispatched to Bellfountain Road near milepost 3 for a reported hit and run. The driver reported his driver’s side mirror had been struck by a passing vehicle and was damaged. He reported the vehicle, a grey Ford pickup with a canopy continued north on Bellfountain and did not stop. He estimated the damage to be less than $2,500, so a crash report was not needed.
WARRANT ARREST - TEDDY JOHNSTON, 34, TURNED HIMSELF IN AT BCCF ON  A FTA WARRANT FOR CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2, INTERFERING WITH A PEACE OFFICER. A NEW COURT DATE PROVIDED AND THE SUBJECT WAS RELEASED.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 23, 2021 at approximately 2:57 PM, LYTH, Robert James, 24, of Salem, turned himself into the jail on a warrant for FTA Failure to perform duties of a driver. A new court date and time was given to appear in court.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 23, 2021, at around 2:18 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 31200 block of Highway 99W for a reported trespass. A woman reported a neighbor had informed her an unknown man was sitting on her front porch. The man reported he was walking from somewhere and really tired. He was given a courtesy transport to Corvallis.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE(S) - On July 23, 2021 at approximately 5:20 AM, deputies were dispatched to the area of Columbia Ave and Azalea Dr., Adair, for a parking complaint. When they arrived they found a Mazda SUV parked on the right shoulder near the intersection. This portion of Azalea Dr has parking on the left shoulder only due to it being a narrow roadway. There was approximately 12 feet between the Mazda and the nearest, correctly parked vehicle. This was causing vehicles on Azalea Dr to have to weave between the Mazda and other vehicles. Deputies went to the nearby residences and spoke to the occupants. No one knew who the vehicle belonged to. Deputies were unable to reach the registered owner by phone and towed the vehicle after exhausting all other options.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On 7/22/2021 at around 8:15 PM, deputies spoke with a Monroe resident about his tenant making threats toward him and his property. He said the man sent around 500 text messages to his phone today threatening to burn his house down and up to killing him. Deputies explained to him he could apply for a stalking order and eviction notice if he chose to.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE - On July 22, 2021, at 12:18 AM, deputies were dispatched to the 25900 block of Lee Road in Monroe for a possible prowler. Upon arrival, the caller told deputies her back patio motion light went off twice, and it doesn`t normally go off. Deputies searched the area and did not locate anyone.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 21, 2021 at approximately 9:16 am, DORMAN, Curtis, 18, turned himself in at the Benton County Jail and indicated that he had an outstanding warrant for having failed to appear at the Benton County Circuit Court. A valid warrant was confirmed and served: FTA - Dis Con II, bail $10,000. DORMAN was released after having signed a release agreement for Benton County Circuit Court, which was forwarded to the court.
UUV; POSS STOLEN VEHICLE; WARRANT ARREST - On July 21, 2021, deputies arrested STANTON JOSEPH KITTEL, 38, on a confirmed Benton County Circuit Court felony caution warrant after contacting him while sleeping on a confirmed stolen motorcycle (Lincoln County S.O.) at Pettibone Drive near Independence Highway. He was also charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a stolen vehicle. He was lodged at the Benton County Jail, and a Probable Cause affidavit was submitted.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 19, 2021 at around 7:31 PM, deputies responded to the 23700 block of Woods Creek Road and contacted a group of individuals who were attempting to establish residency and squat on a woman’s property. Deputies spoke with the squatters and advised them they had 24 hours to vacate the property or they would be arrested for trespassing. Deputies checked the area on July 21st and determined they had left the property.
FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On July 19, 2021 at approximately 3:08 pm, jail deputies ran YOUNG, Steven, 26, and learned he had warrants for: Linn County Circuit Court, PV - Burg I, no bail; and Lebanon Justice Court, Trespass II. The warrants were served and a hold was placed for Linn County Jail, pending transportation.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On 7/17/2021 at around 7:30 PM, Vehicle #1 was traveling northbound on NW Springhill Dr. near MP3. The vehicle went of the east side of the roadway, overcorrected and went off the east side of the roadway through trees and brush. Vehicle #1 ended up around 100 feet down an embankment. A tow company arrived and towed the vehicle to their lot due to the damage from the crash.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On Saturday, July 17, 2021 at about 1:15 pm, deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on West Hills Road near N 9th Street. The vehicle had left the roadway and struck a fence, damaging a large portion. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the driver, who said he was traveling east on West Hills when his tire blew out causing him to leave the roadway. His vehicle left the south side of West Hills striking a fence in the 900 block of West Hills Rd. His vehicle was driven from the scene.
THEFT 2 FROM VEHICLE; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 1:42 PM, a resident in the 32900 block of Fern Road reported a number of items had been taken from her stepson`s vehicle while it was parked in her driveway sometime earlier that day between 12:00 AM and 12:00 PM. The items consisted of an LED light bar worth $300, a couple of unknown brand/value airsoft guns, and some costumes of unknown value.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 20, 2021 at about 10:30 PM, deputies stopped arrested Justin Russell, 45, on Highway 20 near milepost 6, for 3 outstanding warrants.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On July 20, 2021, deputies were dispatched to a trespass call in the 5700 block of NW Wintercreek Dr. They contacted a male sleeping in his car. He had parked his 2006 Blue in color Chevy HHR in the grass adjacent to the driveway. He was trespassed and he left the area.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 20, 2021, deputies encountered a non-injury traffic crash at NW 53rd and Reservoir Rd. A red Dodge Stratus rear ended a Kia Sedona mini-van. The vehicles were moved from the roadway and the driver of the Kia was evaluated by Corvallis EMT’s.
WARRANT ARREST - On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, around 2:30 A.M., deputies responded to the 32800 block of Fern Road for an argument. Brenden Getty, 21, was issued a citation for his Philomath municipal Court warrant (FTC-DUII).
DEPOSIT LIGHTED MATERIAL-LAND/HWY LITTERING - On Monday, July 19, 2021, around 11:15 P.M., Jeremiah Anderson, 19, of Boise, was arrested for throwing a lighted object from a vehicle. A citation was issued.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On July 19, 2021, deputies were dispatched to Botkin Road for a single vehicle crash. The driver stated she fell asleep and crash her 2001, Silver Toyota Rav Prime into a roadside fence and tree. Her husband transported her to the hospital and her vehicle was towed.
THEFT 1 AGGRAVATED - On July 19, 2021, deputies spoke with a female regarding a theft of her household property by a moving company. The theft occurred April 29, 2021. The property was to be moved to Weatherford, TX, but never arrived. Deputies were able to track down her property to a storage facility in Vancouver, WA. The owners flew there to retrieve their property.
SUSPICIOUS SUBJECT(S) - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 2:32 PM, deputies contacted a man in the parking lot of Peavy Arboretum. He claimed he had been hiking in the area and got lost trying to find his way back to where his vehicle was parked at the trailhead on Highway 99W across from the Adair Village Market. The man was walking the wrong direction and exhibited signs of having recently used controlled substances. His story seemed suspicious given his extensive criminal history and the significant number of recent car break-ins and other thefts in the area.
VEHICLE RECOVERED FOR OTHER AGENCY - On Friday, July 16, 2021 at 1:08 PM, deputies located an unoccupied gold, 1997 Toyota Corolla sedan, backed into a ditch in the 28700 block of Highway 34. The vehicle had been stolen out of Corvallis a few days prior. Deputies assisted CPD Officers by photographing the vehicle and processing it for evidence.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 2 - On July 24, 2021, at around 1:26 pm, deputies were dispatched to the 4900 block of NW Fir Place for a report of criminal mischief. A resident reported scratches on both sides of his car while it was parked.
WARRANT ARREST - On Friday, July 23, 2021 at 10:57 AM, deputies contacted AUDRIAUNA HAGEMAN, 28, as she was walking westbound on Philomath Boulevard near 53rd Street in Corvallis. Deputies arrested HAGEMAN for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant, then cited and released her with a court date in lieu of custody at the request of the Benton County Jail.
RECKLESS DRIVING; DWS FEL; ACCIDENT VEHICLE INJURY - On 7/22/2021 at around 5:00 PM, deputies arrived for a single vehicle rollover crash on Soap Creek Road near Govier Place. Kimberly Yancey, 39, was traveling northbound on Soap Creek Road and went into a corner too fast, over corrected and rolled her vehicle in the east side of the roadway. Yancey had multiple injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for an evaluation. Deputies issued Yancey citations for DWS-Felony, Reckless Driving, Failure to maintain lane of travel and Open Container. Her vehicle was towed due to the damage from the crash.
VIOL RESTRAINING ORDER; FAIL TO APPEAR BENCH WARRANT - On Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at about 2:30 PM, deputies went to the 2500 block of NW Coolidge Way in Corvallis to serve a civil paper and subsequently arrested JEVON TAYLOR SMITH, 30, on four outstanding Benton County Circuit Court warrants and for Violation of Restraining Order. Deputies transported Jevon to the Benton County Jail where he was booked and lodged.
ACCIDENT OTHER INJURY - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at about 2:12 pm, deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 99W, Milepost 95, Corvallis. A 2001 Buick LeSabre was southbound on Highway 99W when the driver crossed over the fog line into the gravel for an unknown reason, attempted to correct, then over corrected, resulting in rolling the vehicle once and into a utility pole, then landing in the ditch on the eastside. The driver was extracted from her vehicle and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis. The Buick was towed from the scene.
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 1; BURGLARY 1 - On July 17, 2021, around 4:20 PM, deputies were dispatched to the 30800 block of Bellfountain Road for a reported Burglary. The caller reported when he and his wife returned home from their vacation, their back door had been kicked in. There is currently no suspect information.
THEFT 1 - On Saturday, July 17, 2021, deputies received confirmation from OSU Research Forest they had a utility trailer stolen from their Peavy Arboretum property. No suspect information at this time.
BURGLARY 2; THEFT 3; UUV - On Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at about 2:53 pm, deputies received a phone call from a resident in the 8700 block of NW Peavy Arboretum Rd, Corvallis, in regards to reporting his garage had been broken into. A Honda CB360 motorcycle and a Freud Router were stolen. No suspect information at this time.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 6, 2021 at about 1:00 p.m., deputies issued Russell Irish, 47, a citation in lieu of custody for a Benton County Failure to Appear warrant for the charge of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
FELON IN POSS OF RESTRICTED; FEL DELIVER METH; CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2; TAMPER W/ EVIDENCE - On July 11, 2021, at around 3:30pm, deputies observed a black Infiniti G35 with two male occupants parked on property posted "No Trespassing". The Infiniti made several evasive maneuvers, but was later located on a private farm. The driver, later identified as Matthew Williams, 42, of Dallas, threw a switchblade knife and attempted to flee on foot. Around 6.14oz of Methamphetamine and drug distribution paraphernalia were found in Williams’ possession. Williams was lodged at the Benton County Jail for DCS-Meth, Criminal Trespass 2, Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Tampering with Evidence. His passenger, Keary Rickard, 29, of Monmouth, was also booked into Benton County Jail for DCS-Meth and Criminal Trespass 2.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS 2 - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 9:48 PM, deputies were dispatched to the area of 4455 NE Highway 20, Corvallis for report of two males trespassing. Dispatch advised employees only wanted the subjects told not to return. Deputies contacted two men walking west on Highway 20 near milepost 2. Both were intoxicated and admitted to being on the property but said they would not go back. Deputies gave both subjects a ride to a motel at their request.
WARRANT ARREST - On July 19, 2021 at around 5:30 pm, deputies contacted William Steen, 36, in the 2100 block of NE Hwy 20, Corvallis. STEEN had a cite and release, Albany Municipal Court Warrant for Contempt of Court. STEEN was issued a citation for his warrant and he was released.
THEFT 3; UNLAW ENTRY MOTOR VEHICLE - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 5:51 PM, deputies responded to the 5400 block of NE Highway 20 for report of an Unlawful Entry to a Motor Vehicle. Deputies spoke to a female who told deputies her orange backpack style purse had been taken off her passenger seat in her unlocked vehicle sometime between approximately 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM that day. There are no suspects or leads.
ABANDONED VEHICLE - On Monday, July 19, 2021, at about 09:12 am, deputies were dispatched to illegal camping on NW Sulphur Springs Road, milepost 1, Corvallis. A blue 1972 Chevrolet pickup, with a homemade camp trailer made from a pickup camper, were parked in an emergency vehicle turnaround area. The camper appeared to be unoccupied. Deputies placed a yellow Notice to Tow, upon the back window of the trailer.
WARRANT ARREST - On Saturday July 18, 2021, around 2:15 AM, deputies were parked near the Super 8 in Corvallis observing traffic when they saw a Grey sedan pass in front of them traveling eastbound on Second Street at a very high rate of speed in the 25 MPH zone. Deputies stopped Darwyn Dwayne Reimann, 21, of Lebanon, who had two warrants out of Albany Municipal Court. Deputies cited Reimann for his warrants, as well as DWS violation and for driving 55 MPH in a 25 MPH zone..
PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT - On July 18, 2021 at about 12:00 am, deputies were dispatched to the area of Springhill and Scenic to perform a welfare check on a female walking on the side of the highway. Deputies contacted Jennifer Anne Gillet, 36, of Bend, who was attempting to walk to Corvallis. Gillet had a confirmed Marion County Parole Violation warrant for Dangerous Drugs. Deputies arrested Gillet and transported her to the Benton County Jail where she was given reporting instructions by jail staff.
MAIL THEFT - On July 17, 2021, at around 10:57 am, deputies were dispatched to the 1200 block of NW Panorama Dr for a reported mail theft. The resident reported several pieces of mail were stolen from her mailbox at some point during the afternoon of July 15. No current suspects.
FORGERY 1; IDENTITY THEFT - On July 16, 2021, around 6:00 PM, deputies arrested Isaac James Granberry, 27, had forged a signature on a safety plan form for his employment in Corvallis. Granberry was cited for Forgery in the First Degree and Identity Theft.
ACCIDENT VEHICLE NO INJ - On July 16, 2021 around 4:10 PM, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Greenberry Road and Highway 99 W for a motor vehicle crash. Neither driver had any injuries. A driver was slowing down and miscalculated the distance needed to stop before crashing into a flatbed trailer. The driver stated he crashed into the flatbed trailer at 5 MPH. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
